i think there were 2 drops , one that Arti caught and as arti was on the bottom side of the map and didn't cast it, there was a drop on the first terran expansion and i think that was the point where Dewalt was back into the game ... one drop killed about 15 SCVs and the second (that ari missed) killed about the same Edit: right here is where arti missed the massive drop in the terran first expansion that slaughtered quite a bit of eco 16:23
This was a great game. If Brood War was as big as any of the major sports Arty's name would be up there with the John Maddens, Mike Breens, Walt Clyde Fraziers, etc. Great casting of all things Starcraft for how many years now?? Legend!
Holy shit that was an awesome game. I feel like Skey won almost all of the encounters but Dewalt simply had the better overall economy and kept coming back. His shuttle harasses didn't work well most of the time, either. Very interesting!
When I saw the beginning with tanks and vultures, I initially thought it was Artosis playing as Terran, but I quickly realized my mistake when the Terran actually left his base.
artosis you're really good at these casts, appreciate the content. keep it up. also this seems like good game volume, that iconic starcraft music is really good
This was a really good match. The more I see of Skey, the more I'm becoming a fan. Honestly he's really good at covering his bases (figuratively & literally) against harassment. Excellently placed mines and a couple of strategic wraiths.
dewalt here represents the true protoss spirit; stubborness, storms and sending countless zealots to one way trips to certain death. En Taro Adun Dewalt
Dewalt just simply looked like he out-skilled Skey. No matter what a good position Skey was in, it didn't seem like it was enough and the storm drops helped Dewalt come back a lot. As Artosis said, the opening could not have gone any better for Skey I feel. Perhaps as a lower skill player the play should of been to 2 base push rather than taking the third and giving Dewalt the time to get him back in the game with his higher ability. Still, nice game from Skey. Too bad it didn't translate into a win, but Dewalt was just too good here.
Sometimes it feels like Artosis forgets what he comments on even half a minute earlier. 16:25 he saw the 25-30 scv kills from ht drop, then at 17:00 he says he's low on SCVs already forgetting why that was the case.
Im really missing some kind of a talk and maybe replay analysis after the game ... all this excitiment of the final strike is just cut short, ... and all I can do is to have a look into the comments section :D
yeah key highlights and maybe some overall debrief explanation on to why this happened would be great @ArtosisCasts i also go down to comments for explanations as i'm not a pro
BLAAAAAAH! I was rooting for Skey! Ah well, gg~. This Dwalt guy is pretty good. Just constant, never ending pressure. His drops to harass economy don't always go off great but, he's always coming at you.
That 2nd match, seemed like Skey was out of practice. I mean, I can't play that well but it seemed like he had the superior army and position. Dewalt definitely got more out of the units that he had.
I'm an anti-fan of the predetermined idea to fly a drop in. When your opponent has THREE turrets and very likely units defending inside the base, and I think scouting that sees your drop coming in... don't just keep going cus you've already decided. REACT and back out.
It took YEARS after remastered for stubborn pros to start using the valykrie in TvZ, and I assure you that same stupid fucking stubbornness is what is keeping the ghost out of (TvP)**. Reavers. Shuttles. Arbiters. Carriers. Wake UP Terrans.
@@Winnetou17 Yeah you're right I made this comment after I clicked on the thumbnail because I thought he got wrecked by shuttle bombs. And still there is no need to push the goalpost, Ghosts are massively underutilized in TvP.
@@Tyler-qh9jm I don't think it's that easy to tell. I'd argue that they make sense only versus carriers. Their investment is quite big and the APM required is also non trivial. And unless in extreme situations, they are not worth vs reaver and shuttle. Arguably they are vs arbiter.
@@Winnetou17 1 ghost shuts down 16 interceptors, 2 ghosts shuts down the beginning of a carrier push, literally halts them immediately and takes away all air dps. Why spend APM juggling goofy goliaths that just knock down 25 mineral interceptors when you can micro 2 ghosts for 4 lockdowns. Same thing for shuttle zealots, you have a shuttle that will down your tanks and once they're gone your army has to retreat because vultures throw pebbles vs goons. It's crazy how a ghost is immediately associated with nukes and not lockdowns first and foremost. It's a stronger stasis field and it turbo fucks all of protoss's most dangerous weapons
@@Tyler-qh9jm Because goliaths don't have to wait half the game to reach 200 energy, lol. In any case, I said already that I think it makes sense versus carriers, so we're kind of on the same page here :)
Okay I desperately need someone to explain to me why there’s a constant lack of EMP Shockwaves in TvP - how many times do we see a group of zealots, dragoons and high Templar’s barreling down on sieged mode Tanks and Terran resorts to defensive matrix a couple times? EMP has to be a better strategy in that situation and this guy waited 26 mins into the game to start researching it
EMP vs high templars is pretty unreliable. It's usually always researched versus arbiters and/or archons. But just versus high templars is difficult because they're either far (storm has a very big range) and you risk losing your science vessel. Or the templars are with a shuttle and can dodge it like that. Or simply they're not clumped up and might only hit one with EMP. Which can still be good, but it's arguably so. And it's more micro intensive than dmatrix if the high templar is not already in the emp range (because in that case you have to move the sci vessel and cast the spell only when it's already in range, otherwise you risk wasting the EMP if you cast it, the sci vessel starts to move and the enemy moves out of the way)
@@Winnetou17 Well to be honest I'm more referring to EMPs against Zealot-Dragoon rushes to get rid of their shields. Look at 13:47 17:13 & 21:13 with a Science Vessel around each time: -Siege Tanks want to eliminate as many Zealots as possible in particular because as soon as the Zealots engage then the Tanks will start killing themselves with splash damage. Why wouldn't you want to drop an EMP on a clump of any of the Protoss to help kill them twice as quickly? Seems much more effective than Defensive Matrix on individual Tanks?
You missed the two zealots being jilted into the back of the Terran base last game! A lot gained from that play there. Why is Dewalt picking up units when a wraith is there during a drop? What is going on... like 5 or 6 times in a row, really?

He also harrased waaay too little. He defended excellently vs DeWalt, but he also basically let him expand and take the map. Which is why DeWalt kept coming back. He had too little pressure on him.
He had some stupid drops, but other than that, he played very well. And did had an EXCELLENT double drop (that Arty missed the second drop) when he did HT storm drop both in the 11 o'clock base and at the natural. He killed many SCVs in both bases, like almost 30.
