Loved watching you shut down the Dimir so fast. Nice deck, you always make some really interesting builds and I love the insight into your thought process. Keep up the good work, you're certainly one of the best MTG Tubers!
When I was a chef i used to run a pulled pork sandwich at lunch as a special that had Cole slaw and gruyere on it as a special called the big pig. Thanks for the pleasant reminder
You are a great player Legend! Your decisions are logical, smart and thougthful. That goes with your explanations as well! Thank you. This deck is also vevry powerful.
Made an almost identical variant of this BigPig deck. Lost in the finals at the last 2 FNMs. Then won Standard Showdown last night. Beat mono-red and mono-white otw, and Esper Control in the finals. Then pulled a foil Bolas Dragon God in my Showdown packs. This future Patron is now a current Patron. Thank you Legend!
I've noticed players in bo1 seem to take great difficulty into taking just some time to read effects occuring on board or cards in general. They just vomit on curve without thinking or using any form of mind games a lot of the time. Great video as always. Would love to see some bo3 against more capable opponents to see how these decks fair as bo1 the average player is generally below average in terms of skill I feel and hard to get a feel whether the deck is good or the players are just bad. But this deck looks awesome and works.
That monored player was such a terrible player... why play Experimental Frenzy when he could just Risk Factor into a burn spell? And why do I never play against these idiots? Story of my life...
All show respect Boar God FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Great material as always! I would like you to play Gruul but in traditional play/traditional ranked with sideboard, I play paper so you would help me a lot. You already have a subscriber! :D
not sure about the guardians, direfleet daredevil seems suited for this deck way more. good etb, better at holding off the early derplings. only dies to whirley boi more.
I have just started playing magic and I love the big green dudes. I have an ok red green deck. Does this same concept work using Etali, I can adjust my deck with some concepts from this deck.
Loose the phoenixes , the wurms, and the planes walkers and mix in,3 gaeas blessings, 4 growth from the ashes and 4 gifts of paradise along with 3 chromatic lanterns,3 demanding dragons, 2 ghaltas, 3 charging monstrosaurs and four relcamation sages. It gives you the possibility of very regularly having Ilharg attack on turn 4 and bringing in a demanding dragon or ghalta at the same time. If they have no creatures out when the demanding goes in you land 16 damage. If ghalta goes in your looking at 18 damage before turn 5. The sages may seem out of place buy when you can juggle one in and out via Ilharg you can destroy a field of ixilan bindings and fountains or renewal without nuking your gifts of paradise. Besides mana flood and mana screw this deck is 95% guaranteed to deploy a 5 cost creature on turn 4 sometimes 3.
Great stuff as usual! I'd like to see you play some more Bo3, you're a skilled player with great insights so that format would probably suit your style better.
Do you think Bond of Flourishing fits in this deck? It slows the deck down a bit, but it can help find the top-end cards or lands and the lifegain helps a bit against mono red.
My Boar God deck runs 3x Bond of Flourishing and 4x Paradise Druid because of mono red. Bond at least buys you a turn whle you try to draw into something useful
What do you think about using Paradise Druid instead of Incubation Druid? Not just in this deck but just in general. Not dying inmediately except for Cry of the Carnarium (which kills Incubation anyway) seems a big deal to me.
If you guys would like to play this deck in the Ravnica Constructed event, I swapped out the 4 copies of Rekindling Phoenix for 4 copies of Nehab, then swapped the 4 Llanowar Elves for 2 copies of Grazer and 2 copies of Paradise druid (up to you the ratio, but half and half or 4 druids seem good), then the Pelakka Wurm is swapped with End-Raze Forerunners. Hope this can work for you guys, I'm currently 12-3 with it.
I think ghalta is way too win more, most of the time you will only have 1 or 2 creatures out, and you don't really need a 12/12 to win very easily with Ilharg any 5+ drop with the pig will end games on the spot
Whenever i look at risk factor I just think it breaks the colour pie. It should at least be multicolored blue/red. It basically strips off rdw's only limit which is card draw, much more than experimental frenzy. Poses you with two unavoidable bad choices, and often is enough to close a game by itself.
Best MTG youtuber by miles
Love your videos, never stop uploading please!
@Black Lotus I like Nox, but I do like Legends videos a lot more. He's just calmer and usually gets into more details than other players.
Loved watching you shut down the Dimir so fast. Nice deck, you always make some really interesting builds and I love the insight into your thought process. Keep up the good work, you're certainly one of the best MTG Tubers!
Absolutely second that.
7:27 PERFECT MATCHED PHOENIX ANIMATION!!!
We call him the great boar god.
LVD: just a powerful pig
Song Dennis strong fat pig man
When I was a chef i used to run a pulled pork sandwich at lunch as a special that had Cole slaw and gruyere on it as a special called the big pig. Thanks for the pleasant reminder
I'm hungry, y u do dis
Nice deck! I created one with demanding dragons. The sacrifice a creature or eat 5 damage effect often works well. Also Ghalta is in that deck.
You are a great player Legend! Your decisions are logical, smart and thougthful. That goes with your explanations as well! Thank you.
This deck is also vevry powerful.
Watching you beat the crap out of these Esper control decks was the highlight of my day
Thx for the video. Your voice is so relaxing, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Awesome! Congrats.
"Not bad, not bad". :D
Pretty nice deck and great video as usual.
These new decks have all seemed really fun. Makes actually want to play standard for the first time in a while.
What a great video and deck! Well done, Legend
19:30 What a comeback!!! Nice!! Also, I LOVE your content!!!
This deck looks like so much fun! Nice job 👍🏾
Very nice. I enjoyed watching you pilot this gruul deck and not butchering it. Thank you
I would’ve been screaming in that monored match! I was already screaming watching!!!
Looks like fun, thanks for the games
That fight vs Mono Red was awesome!! Was like..ahh he's dead...wait..wait...Holy shit!!! Nice!!!
Everyone : Gruul Midrange/Stompy/Ramp
LegenVD : BIG PIG
These quick concessions against all these color types make me happy

Love this deck
Liked just for the name alone :)
I'd like to see your best of 3 decks as well
Absolute master.
That monored player was such a terrible player... why play Experimental Frenzy when he could just Risk Factor into a burn spell? And why do I never play against these idiots? Story of my life...
I'm sure you never made a (huge) mistake in any game you played
Wow masterfully played vs monored and a bit of deserved luck
what a deck. holy crap.
funny, i made a similar deck 3 days ago. but i use 3 Tyrants to cheat in. and 3 Goreclaws for cheap and trample. kicks ass
Love the deck. Could you have gone double Ilharg AND the phoenix at 7:28?
No, Ilharg are Legendary creature and could be only one
Simply the best
All show respect Boar God FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Big pig sounds like a generic rapper name, lol.
17:44 starts the turn with 16 power, attacks for 55 power. Nice!
The Notorious P.I.G
Cool deck. The Gods are OP.

Hi Legend, love your videos. I was just wondering, where did you get those sleeves from?
It was from a pre-order of War of the Spark boosters.
That was sick
Going Ham! Love it!
I have just started playing magic and I love the big green dudes. I have an ok red green deck. Does this same concept work using Etali, I can adjust my deck with some concepts from this deck.
Merchant has a pretty good etali deck
Our lord and savior Ganon has come in all his bacon-y glory.

Could definitely be good!
19:25 WHEN CANCER IS SUCCESSFULLY TREATED
"Ilharg saved our bacon." Hahahahahahaha! Awesome.
Turn Three God Pig. Legend, What have you begat?!
What do you think about using Paradise Druid instead of Incubation Druid? Not just in this deck but just in general. Not dying inmediately except for Cry of the Carnarium (which kills Incubation anyway) seems a big deal to me.
It's close for sure, although Chainwhirler is still a problem.
@@LegenVD yeah forgot about him, i guess it's meta dependant
I'd really like to see what you'd do with a Modern Braid of Fire deck in MTGO.
Game starts at 5:30 for people who hate sitting through fluff
Timestamps are in the description.
@@LegenVD now in the comments too 😁
7:51 B A M ! nice!
Gruuuul
Would love to play this deck, i have most of the cards.. except 4 pigs -.-
Too many mythics to craft in this set. I feel your pain.
good that this deck is very budget friendly... i can build it in like half a year ^^
nice deck and wp
“Wow, how did weeeee win this game?” LoL
Good catch!
What about end raze forerunners just to add to the thematic flavor?
Nvm he mentions the card in the video
Sideboard recommendations?
Thoughts on Ghalta? I crafted 4 Big Pig on release and have been trying to make him work ever since!
I think ghalta is way too win more, most of the time you will only have 1 or 2 creatures out, and you don't really need a 12/12 to win very easily with Ilharg any 5+ drop with the pig will end games on the spot
I think ghalta is great in a more stompy build with the 5/4 for 3 or nullhide ferox, in this one, just like iang said, it is win-more.
Yeah true bois, it's just so satisfying to drop the king of thicc down and trample through for the kill.
Don’t know what I was expecting, but yeah, it’s a big pig
Try this deck with Vivien's Arkbow. It's nutty.
Good video man, but i missed ghalta and ferox
How do you get two Domri's in match 1 on board at same time? I'm probably missing something obvious unless there has been a rules change!
There has
In many instances, it wins right away O.O
23:20 lol when playing Rhonas isn't the "greedy" play
This is an insane deck! Omg! Is this standard legal? I really want to play this in standard!
Slenderman676x yes all arena decks are standard legal
I found 4 big pigs in my 40 boosters on day one of war of the spark, this is going to be sweet
I like your videos, but I have been wondering why do you not play ranked matches?
I'm a beginner, Whats the ideal number of Lands to have in a deck
Depends on the type of deck. Usually between 20 for low curve aggro up to 26 for slow control decks.
what a comeback against rdw
does Ilharg work with Etali and GoreClaw? i think not, which is sad
no, because those triggers happen in the declare attackers phase which Ilharg skips because it puts them already tapped and attacking
I love it when I'm playing against control and they try to counter creatures I played with Rhythm of the Wild. Read that text lol
Whenever i look at risk factor I just think it breaks the colour pie. It should at least be multicolored blue/red. It basically strips off rdw's only limit which is card draw, much more than experimental frenzy. Poses you with two unavoidable bad choices, and often is enough to close a game by itself.
What the hell did just happened to the second game??
Wait... I knew this deck was missing something... WHERE IS THE GRUUL SPELLBREAKER?!!!?!! that card is too good period, but with Kiora it's even better
i think this deck is more on ramping out the 5 drop, which every 1~3 drop except Growth Chamber Guardian helps in a way.
No Ghalta for Ilharg...?
See other comments
Princess Mononoke would be proud
That's 90% the list I'm using
big pig, also known as humongous chungus
How is it possible for the mono red to had no Lightning Strike or Shock? LoL
That'll do pig. That'll do.
As a newcomer to mtga i just see all the needed mythic wildcards and die a little bit inside xD
Soon you'll stop caring about the Mythics and start crying because you see the rares instead.
Against monored replace the Growth-Chamber Gaurdians with 4 Sylvan Brushstriders.
That card is shit tier
Gestión de derrota con el manute xD
Sad the nickname the hog god hasn't caught on yet
How the bloody hell did you win against red deck win with 3 life?!
THEY CAAAALLLLL MEEEE
MIS-TER PIG!
*looks at match times in description* Must have been vegans...
B I G P I G
8/10
-You can be a big pig too.
Play grixis midrange !😄
👌
Big Pig :3
15 mythics and 19 rares?
Yup, War of the Spark for you right there.
I'd shit my pants if I got matched with you playing mtg online
Paradise druid would be a lot better against mono red than incubation druid
Big Chungus God would BTFO of Nicol Bolas
Oink
Oink! >:80
