- With the Kansas City Chiefs coming off their Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, and of course seeking a 3-peat, many were curious what Andy Reid & company would do in the 2024 NFL Draft. Would they try to bolster the Chiefs offense around Patrick Mahomes? Maybe add to the defense? Well, what they did might have caused some issues for the rest of the NFL.
Let’s start with the Kansas City Chiefs offense. After KC drafted Xavier Worthy as their new wide receiver, this changes everything for Mahomes' outlook on the offense under Matt Nagy. Pairing Xavier Worthy with their new signing Marquise Hollywood Brown, the return of standout rookie Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, etc. and new OL Kingsley Suamataia to compliment Isiah Pacheco in the run game, it’s safe to say this KC offense is going to have a new look.
Then even in terms of the Chiefs defense, this is likely to be just as productive in 2024. With the return of Chris Jones, Drue Tranquill, George Karlaftis, Nick Bolton, Justin Reid, Trent McDuffie to pair with the Chiefs draft picks in Jaden Hicks, Kamal Hadden, etc, Steve Spagnuolo is poised for another great year in Kansas City.

Last year was the greatest post season run ive ever seen. After the fallouts during the season, then going on the road like the chiefs did... all while struggling offensively.... man... I just cant wait until the season starts.
You must be young. Their postseason run consisted of Tua, Allen, Lamar n Purdy; I wouldn't describe that as daunting. A good run but not great. A three-peat will be great regardless of the competition, just because it's never been done.
They beat a helpless Dolphins team and the Bills 2nd string defense. Lamar shit down his leg per usual and they played good enough to win at the buzzer in the super bowl. What a run... 🥱

I've watched and cheered for Worthy for his 3years with my Longorns. He is outstanding. Only wishing him the best, I was so happy he went with Chiefs. With an outstanding coach, the best qb of all time and team to die for, he will do us all proud. THREEPEAT!!!!

I have been a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs having lived in the KC metro area my entire life. What stands out to me the most about their recent draft picks and free agency signings is that they seem to be strategically building towards achieving a three-peat Super Bowl championship, while also establishing a team that can continue to thrive even after their star players retire.

The scariest part about all of this is that they can’t double up anyone anymore. If they double up Worthy then they leave Kelce or Hollywood wide open and that goes for all 3 of them. We might actually see an undefeated Chiefs though we’ll have to see how they perform offensively before I jump to that conclusion.

Im a lifelong chiefs fan and Missourian so im a little biased. Between adding extensions to players and coaches, the draft and fa's, this might be the best off season the chiefs have ever had. Fingers crossed they stay healthy throughout camp. What a time to be a cheifs fan! (Except ticket prices) Lol

THIS off season has been the definition of "All In" ... The CHIEFS signed Mark Donovan (pres.) Brett Veach (GM) Andy Reid (Head Coach) Steve Spagnolo ( Def. Coord.) in the front office. Chris Jones, Hollywood Brown, Drue Tranquil, the Punt God, even Carson Wentz as a back up all signed, extended the best tight end ever, and we drafted the fastest WR ever at the combine, Baby Kelce, and a Safety that will take a guys head off. Not to mention an electric European Rugby player and a handful of other depth players.... I would say that is ALL IN!!!! #3peat

Undefeated season incoming
You are not going to see an undefeated season in today's NFL. As soon as a team reaches 14-0 they will most likely have locked up the 1 seed for the playoffs and begin resting players against more and more desperate teams.
You didn’t mention the rugby player. He’s fast as hell and big and strong too.
I am so excited to watch him play. What would be really cool as if they incorporated rugby style plays with lateral catches, cause we already know Kelce can do that.

My biggest takeaway about Worthy is his tracking skill. If he can maintain this skill in the NFL, everyone is f#$@ and I'm here for it.

The Bills screwed themselves twice. Once with letting us have Worthy and twice with the later round pick where the Chiefs might possibly have selected their replacement for Sneed. Time will tell. They must like losing to us. 😆

Speed absolutely translates as you see on tape. He secures passes/punts, sees an alley, hits it all out and is gone.
Terrific short area quickness too in addition to long speed. Makes guys miss in traffic. Deadly in the red zone getting separation and catching in traffic.
Lastly, fearless and tough. Packs surprising punch at 170 pounds.
You are going to like Brown a lot too. Played college ball at Oklahoma where he torched Texas every October in the Cotton Bowl. He, Xavier and Travis Kelce for Pat to throw to will be crazy. Should help the running game too keeping safeties out of the box.
Worthy likely dropped 10 lbs. or so to kill it in the draft. KC will get him back to his playing weight and probably add some to make him more durable, but keep most of his speed. So, 180-ish lbs.?
I think 180 is his max weight. 175 lbs. is closer to ideal.

He had a broken left hand the season he had that drop rate. It was closer to 6/7 without that aggravation

Seth Keysor (@realmnchiefsfan) has stated multiple times that deep pass accuracy/QBR should be a WR stat, and last season was a clear indication why. A majority of Patrick's deep balls hit his intended target, but between receivers not being able to catch the pass that hit them in the hands and not tracking the ball, Patrick's deep accuracy/rating absolutely TANKED. With the speed and ball tracking abilities that both Hollywood and Worthy possess, i expect Patrick's deep accuracy/rating to go back up, or at least be more consistent.
Stretching the defense, whether by reality or just threat, will make defenses have to make decisions on coverage they didn't have to make last year. Kelce and Hollywood will benefit greatly by Worthy's speed if he is up to the challenge as a rook! Bulk up W need 10 pounds of muscle!
I think Hollywood/Worthy will have the same role while arice/Kelce eat in the middle of the field

If Worthy can polish his catching, he won’t be DeSean Jackson, he’ll be Randy Moss-lite.
I’m not kidding, Worthy broke his hand his second year, the year he had the most drop issues.
But even his freshman and junior year, there were just a handful of times he just went full butter fingers. Like, it hit him right in the bread basket.
If he could just polish that up, literally nothing else other than gain weight (which naturally comes with time) you might as well just deliver the Chiefs at least one more Super Bowl. Worthy is gonna enhance that offense to frightening levels.

I would guess 13-4 and playing the top of line 1st place team schedule. That is a good record. Chiefs look to be solid again on Defense and additions on offense look to be better adding depth and strength at most important positions..

This Chiefs draft class has the ability to go down as 2nd best, behind Patrick’s ofc. Some absolute dawgs who could put many years in the NFL and retire a Chief. But only time will tell. 🤞🏼

More than the deep threat, its the versatility I'm excited for. Because they can presumably use the deep threat as reliable option next season, the field will open up, and allow them to consistently move the chains with more space in the intermediate areas and the run game. This will allow their defense to get more rest as well due to less three and outs, hopefully. There is a lot of work to do, and life is never that easy, but they have the ingredients now.
After the super bowl, everyone said theyd never bet against the chiefs again. During the off season, they dont get much coverage. Everyones timid to discuss, or they half criticize every move.
KC is going to be better next year. Everyone knows it. And everyone is playing ignrance is bliss until it comes time to face them.

Offense took a step forward and defense took a step back. Sneed and Gay will be missed. Pass rush will need to stay top notch for the secondary to hold.
Not really a step back we have two guys with great experience that were behind sneed and are ready to takeover. I liked Willie a lot but, he wasn’t our most important linebacker, that was dru and we resigned him. Bolton, chenal, and Tranquil are ALL STUDS! Our backup LBs are good too and have been with us for 1-2 years so, we are actually in GREAT shape
As a Chief's fan, I have 2 main concerns about Worthy:
1) His poor contested catch rate. One of the things that makes Tyreek so dangerous is that all the qb has to do is heave the ball deep. Hill can chase down the ball AND out fight a db to catch it. Worthy can only chase down the ball.
2) His catch and drop rates. I know he had a broken finger for part of '22, but even healthy last season, he was below average. Given our current wr room, I don't want another set of sub-par hands on the team.
Hopefully, NFL coaching and training can correct these issues. At the very least, Hill is a more legitimate deep threat than MVS.
Its a shame that Rice has a looming suspension hanging over him. Had he stayed out of trouble and committed to this season vs doing what he did he could have been a bigger part of something awesome. Hopefully Worthy, Kingsley, and/or Wiley can have a big impact quickly and figners crossed Brown can be worked into the offense really fast. KC has a bunch of fun offensive pieces now but none of them have a played a snap together

I think Xavier Worthy may need a year to get a good NFL build and get the offense down, but that is what makes the Hollywood's 1 year deal super smart. Let Xavier learn from Brown and get incorporated into the offense the one year he is there, and then let Xavier take Browns spot when he leaves. Next Tyreek set up🔥

We can’t get high on XW this soon. The guy might be fast, but he’s a twig. A smart physical corner could easily shut him down and he could be easily injured. Yeah I hear you, he’s super fast, he’s evasive, he never missed a game. That was college. This is the NFL. Teams will adjust to him right away and they are not 60% scrubs. Skyy Moore was thought to be a sure bet due to his large hands and yet they have not made him a reliable target and his performance on special teams has been awful. There have been countless draft picks who were studs in college, had great draft stats and broke down like an old horse. Tim Couch, John Ross and Isiah Wilson come to mind.
Don’t get me wrong, I WANT XW to be a huge success, but Brett Veach’s record with receivers has been his 1 weakness.
Their record will be what they choose it to be. With Brown and Worthy opening the middle of the field the TEs and Rice are going to kill teams. Not to mention Pacheco.

Run a two high defense against the Chiefs and Mahomes will throw underneath to Kelce, Rice or Pacheco and all of them are great at burning defenses with YAC. The Chiefs 2018 and 2019 offense is almost surely back.
not sure if worthy will stop teams from playing 2 high safeties against mahomes, which is why his ypa is so low. if anything, teams might be more incentivized to play t2 high safeties to prevent worthy from burning them down the field
But the run game will be killer in this scenario
