As a 67 yr. old total Beatles fan...what a great rendition of this classic Harrison tune.
@Lv11 How do you define as "better?" Joe took a masterpiece and "did his version of it" and made it into another masterpiece. The Beatles did that with a number of tunes done before they did "their" version.
You are so very right about that fact. The Beatles did a handful of classics...and made them classics in their own style.
@LvLeigh11 Nobody does it "Better" than the Beatles !!! 🎸🎤🎹🥁🎶
& at the Beatles Venue !
@LvLeigh11 not sure what you mean by better.. maybe better suited to your individual tastes? Also been lot's of improvements in sound technology in past 50 years.......
in my humble opinion, this is the best cover of "taxman" I´ve ever heard, grat job Joe!
Have you heard the SRV version?
@@BluesCoasters love the srv version the little goblin man voice he puts on is perfect
@@BluesCoasters Agree this borrows from SRV’s version. Including the keys player 🤣
Hola!!! Sounds like a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan's
Joe does it best..
Best blues guitarist on the planet, no question. His playing is so accurate and crystal clear. And to have those musos laying down that groove, 100% pure bliss.
Reese Wynans has to be old as dirt and that dude still brings it. Supernatural musicianship.
Vintage~"Older"...♡
Reese was Stevie Ray Vaughn's keyboard player. Listen to his solo on Riviera Paradise...and smile.
Captain Beyond keyb man as well '73
I agree just remember dirt will be here long after we're gone
Just saw the show in Des Moines Iowa Sunday November 13th 2022 and he's still brings it I can tell you that for sure!
I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a better guitarist of any genre than Joe Bonamassa & he always puts on a fantastic show.
go listen to Carlos Santana, or even Buddy Guy. I do love Joe also though.
Classic and unbeatable sound of the Hammond B3...greatest rock organ ever created.
Reese Wynan is dope!
Yes sir
Thing ways a ton too!
The Farfisa was a smash hit too to start the punk rock blues revolution too. (Elvis Costello)
It’s the Leslie.. best damn musical invention
This is by far the best tone Joe's ever had imo. Perfection.
Joe Bonomassa is unique. Who'd thought that Taxman could be this lethal.
Taxman IS a letal song
Anybody with a groove that ever heard it? Nothing to take away from this insanely great cover, but the original is also damn lethal.
Anybody whoever heard Freddy King do it
Taxman by the Beatles was lethal it was way more badass then this version
Am I the only one who wonders WHERE is the drummer in this song?! 🤷♂️
GREAT cover by the way! Best I’ve ever heard of this song 😎👌👌
He's behind the organ player
Probably older than many listening, I did many concerts in my day: Hendrix, Led, Stevie Ray, Clapton and yes, Bonamassa.I think this guy is so tight; percussion (dig Anton), the Hammond B-3, bass, even a great blues voice, all tops.
You are a lucky man to see all those all time greats
Yup, Me too, I'm a child of the sixties and proud to be here, still.
I still can't believe I was there that night! As a Beatles & Bonamassa fan it was like a dream come true.
Daniel John I wish I were in your shoes ✌✌
Mohammadreza Mahmoudipour He played Sloe Gin right before this & I thought that was it & then broke this one out & blew me away all over again. 2nd time I've seen Joe live & both times I've left wanting more! Everything he does comes out gold!
Joe playing such a song in such a place...what a treat. I totally agree with Daniel John, I've seen Bonamassa twice and I always was left wanting for more. He is an incredible artist.
Lucky bastard!!!!! Cheers!
Daniel John Lucky you
The bass playing is brilliant.
Keys DON'T come in 7ths!
***** ;o)
And he looks like Nosferatu..
DMSProdukti
Bass players often find ourselves working around a single chord or a single change while vocals or other instruments do the melodic thing. This cat owns that space! Very clean bass playing.
do you realize that there are some young fans who did not ever hear TAXMAN before Joe B played it? Thank goodness I heard it the first time around - and I LOVE what he does with it!!
After what i have seen of live footage, Joe Bonamassa never forgets about dynamics which is kind of rare these days. It really makes me happy to see. Great guitarplaying and rock solid bassplayer!
Consistently...
For this old (62) rock and roller Joe's music is the best tunes that I have ever heard, for me that means something, at least to me!!
Allan Henke I'm 58 and I totally agree with you on that.
Allan Henke You are a youngster,I am72 and I still feel the same.
@@davidlloyd498 ;) ! ! great !
saw Him twice & a thrd One on next June... (Paris) can t wait !! looooVe him++++ ;)
joe is the very best!!!
I found out about Joe early 2018. I saw him twice in Nashville. What a guitar player! I have a few DVD'S and CD'S of Joe. Learned about Rory Gallagher & Gary Moore from Joe. Those three guitar players are some of the all time in my life span. At 63 I am being blessed by all three of there music now. Thanks You tube!
This whole show really needs to be released. Absolutely Superb.
I’m a die hard Beatles fan but I love this!!!!
You're right. It's better.
Beatles? I don't think any Beatle could play guitar like Joe..
Best blues musician (and vocalist!) I've ever heard. Les Paul would be most impressed.
I'm a big George Harrison fan but man, Joe did a smokin' job on George's Taxman. Great job by all especially Joe. Got to listen to see at least a zillion times.
Smokin Joe's vocals have certainly enriched over the years to even a better sound. Love this guy & his music!
This man is THE MAN, Rocking Blues all the way!
This is a great tribute to a great musician - George Harrison - Beatles Forever
Joe, every thing he touches turns to gold !
Mmm...
Love how Joe takes this song and makes it his own.....great variation, so creative and talented. BUT...the best version of this of course is by the blues master.....Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP). I'm glad I have seen both live : )
Hey, I just realized it was at the Cavern in Liverpool!! I was there a few years ago, sooo cool! The song choice makes sense now!!
Been into Bonamassa for years. First saw him at The Ferry in Glasgow about 16 years ago. Have watched this version of Taxman dozens of times. Brilliant. I think Russ Irwin deserves a mention with his excellent vocals and harmonies.
Love the song. I'm tired as a 57 year old man who's paid into the system my entire life of being way overtaxed. I work hard, extremely hard and the Government takes half my money for things I strongly disagree where they waste it. Good Americans are getting tired and fed up with this, while others live a dream life abusing the system. Great song Mate. I'm a Patriot ,and a musician who loves my Country
I felt like you and I quit funding the FEDS a long time ago. It is illegal to support a terrorist organization ain't it ? I'm a Vietnam Vet and I'm older than you (almost 72). I work (hard) and never have collected Socialist Security. I believe we are to obey God's laws not man's. Good luck to you and everyone here. I sure hope we can turn things around otherwise our children and grand kids will be communists !
@@dscheidt1 thankyou for the kind words. I love my Country, with all my heart. But, these politicians can kiss my red blooded American ass. I'm a Patriot.
Wow, some old farts complaining how things in America suck. You’ve always had the choice to leave. The government taking half your money? Well to drive on the roads you need to pay. Yes, the very well off screw us, but don’t make overly simple comments complaining when 75% of the world lives way below your standards.
@@dscheidt1 I
The taxes aren't collected for the reasons most people believe. They're based upon ties to the Debt based credit system that replaced our honest money system. People have volunteered into the bank and use banking NOTES that belong to the FED. The FED wants the vigorish.
Бонамасса прекрасен как всегда, впрочем как и все присутствующие музыканты, знают своё дело.
In my opinion, one of the greatest guitar players of all time. And he will be only 40 years old on May 8th, 2017. So, we can wait for more, much more.....
Joe Bonamassa: Lead guitar & vocals
Reese Wynans: Keyboards
Michael Rhodes: Bass
Anton Fig: Drums
Russ Irwin: Backup guitar & vocals
Who's the rythm guitar and backing vocalist??
keyboard, musico de stevie ray vaughan...
Finally after wading thru 100 compliments someone knows and posts the names of the band members (esp rhythm guitarist) ty exelsior3
Super tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn's version playing in Albert King's (sRv's mentor) whispers and cries technique along with a taste of that 60's Clapton Lenon Harrison riff.
Sick solos and some of the best live tone from Joe in a while!
best version I've ever heard, rockin!!!
Joe Bonamassa was a child prodigy been playing this well since he was 14 years old
Joe is doing his thing, which can be anything and you always gotta recognize Reese Wynans (spelling), he can do ANYTHING!
Went to my second Bonamassa concert. Before I went I said it would be the last. NOT NOW THOUGH!Joe is tops and I've seen a lot of guitarist in my 66 years. What a great guy and OMG what a guitarist the show in AUCKLAND NZ was Brilliant . Thanks Joe. Keep on rockin.
The youngs don t understand Joe ,he is a particular venue..............
They WILL when they get some years on them!.!.!.!.!....
Been to a few myself and this guy AND his band mates are TOP TIER! I'll see him at any opportunity
What a dude on Bass! Brilliant band.
Yeah, he's a bit good aint he :) great replacement for Mr Rojas
Michael Rhodes. One of the best on this Planet.
Magic.. overload of talent right here.. Rock on Joe!!
OMG Great song and done so well. Hats off to you Joe and friends.
I love how Joe puts together such great talent. That bass player is the bomb! Reese is always amazing, and that young guy playing rhythm is extremely complementary to Joe's style. Class act!!!
So.ething about Michael Rhodes' playing, even in straight fours, sets him apart.
I like Joe"s stile ,great gitarist, always cool...
Joe is at his best when he keeps it simple.
Joe, the new King of Blues !!
Great!
Joe playing Great as usual.
Wish I was there!
Great job to the Band.
Joe nailing it!
I agree! I never get tired of this song love it brilliant Joe!

Such a funky cool version of an old favorite. Loved it!
Love love love the riffs on the player of the B3
come sempre un spettacolo in confondibile...🎸🎸❤😍😘
A great cover by Joe !!!!
Great bluesy version !
Joe Bona-Monster!!! One of my faves!!!
The always sensational Joe Bonamassa!
I like Joe's singing on this. Almost like he's trying to sing in an English accent. The phrasing and attack is slightly different to his normal vocal style. I like it!
fantastic rendition
Impressive, what a huge, smoky sound - atmosphere and location can't be beat.
Such a great cover from the greatest J. Bonamassa
Epic! A Fantastic song from My younger days played by a group of the Finest Musicians playing today at a Historic venue that I can never hope to see personally... Thanks Guys! That was a Huge Treat.
Fantastic cover !!!
The happiest guitarist on earth. Remember it!.
Love this man! He's an awesome musician...guitar blues man
That was such an incredible night! So thankful to be able to be at this show! Thank you Joe!
Yeah, first show in years that I didn't have my camera. It was cool to see a shot of us there, glad they included it in the video.
Is this downstairs at the Cavern Club or across Mathew St. at the Cavern Pub?
1AnitrasDance YOU shoot the best videos of Joe without a doubt... outstanding!
Joe is an amazing player, always getting better, like Beck and he is a nice and humble man. Super supportive of guitar geeks (being one himself) and always has time to talk about p.a.f.'s and vintage LP's lol
Absolutely, phenomenal.
Thank you, Mr. Bonamassa.
Blessings, Grace and Peace 😊
Amazing and Alive to witness it too!
The Bass is solid.
Brilhante! Excepcional!!!
Good song great job this is going to be a hit in today's time. Rock on Joe see you in February
Just a smokin rendition of this song. Love it!
This is absolutely fantastic. Very earthy sounding. Joe is solid as always and that bass player looks like he just stepped off a spacecraft. Oh, and the keyboard player kinda looks like the Most Interesting Man in the World.
...fab stuff, great to see and hear this again... I was so lucky and privileged to be there... one of the hottest gigs I've been to... in more ways than one!
Indeed it was an honour to be there and see an amazing artist in an amazing venue!!! A red hot night indeed!!! LOL
" fab stuff" - No pun intended ?
That was GREAT!! The seriousness that the vocal quality added was almost scary!! Thank you!
Oooh this has me tapping the toes.
Lovely harmonies and such a weight.
Joe Bonamassa can turn his fingers to anything.
Organ player is smokin', man!
S R V's player
Reese Wynans is his name. Played on over 200 albums. Released his first own album earlier this year.

Браво!Супер гитарист!
Epic as usual 👌👌👌👌
Love this rendition Joe
Eccomi a riascoltarti, bravissimo come sempre e più di sempre complimenti!!!!
The power of black & white - if only we would realise that in real life as well...
That was freaking great
agreed
Probably one of the best songs i've heard...in my humble opinion.
What a FAB rendition of this classic tune. Joe, you absolutely ROCK!
Joe Bonamassa just keeps killing me. I love his style of blues. This is pretty brilliant on an old Beatles tune at the Cavern Club. Wonder what George Harrison would have thought of this.
Bonamasa's great - the tune is great (of course) - but the two are a mismatch. The groove on this performance has a lot more in common with Stevie Wonder's Superstition than the source material...
Tablature Butler
Steve Ray Vaughan did something like this.
George Harrison is probably turning in his grave. This utterly murders the original.
andrea baccassino know!
love watching him playing in that small stages!!!! p.s. better without a costume
Great version of a classic tune. I was actually looking to listen to the original from 'Revolver' but spotted this one, and stayed a while.... Glad I did. Kudos to JB.
I have watched Joe for a very long time , loved all of it , but ,you know what , this may well be his best....
George was also one hell of a guitar player too , not quite Joe B but listen to his material and you will agree.
Not quite as good as Joe? I never heard anything of Harrison's that even approached Joe"s skill level!!
Awesome version!
What a very good spin Joe put on that classic tune...putting his own style there. I'm sure George would have liked it a lot.
I love the play....but I gotta give kudos to the sound engineer...you overall sound awesome for a small club!
That organ player is absolutely on it!
That's Reese Wynans. Used to be with Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Yup ! Reese knows this song well ; )......
Was going to say he was s.r.v organ player he knows this song very well, Joe always has amazing musicians with him.
Rock and roll Hall of Famer!
Reese was Stevie Rays organ player.....he is about 6'5 and can play the keys!!!!
Absolutely brilliant!
Love this song!
Man I wish you and SRV could've played together...now that would be a sight to see
Jonny Guitar There is a video of them playing in a group - Stevie Ray Vaughn was part of it.
NN L SRV died in 90’ and bonamassa was born in 77’ joe would have been 13 when Stevie got up and died so I doubt it
Dylan Schneider Would be a great video to watch if SRV Joe and BB were all playing together!
Patrick O'Donnell Correct. And, as with many child prodigies, Joe peaked early, and though his scope of material has increased galactically, and he understands when to pause and let the music breathe, he has a lot of peers as good as he, who started later.
Bonamassa would not belong beside him on a stage. Insult to SRV.
To all the ignorant losers who put down the suit & sunglasses, its a bluesman thing that all the old players use to wear. JB is all about authenticity, nothing more. People that need to put down strangers & spread malicious lies or hatred have a disease. Get some help before you really do some damage you'll regret. Everybody should be happy we have somebody keeping this genre of music alive and relevant. Nobody mentions that do they. The alternative is another JB....justin bieber for all you haters of the real JB, Joe Bonamassa. Remember people, we are all the captain of our own ship. Don't be drawn in to BS by mentally ill .Be your own Captain and demand a minimum level of "'insert something important'' for yourself, remembering it is all in your control what to listen to , what to act on and what to believe. Aim high, you'll surprise yourself.
Outstanding comment - Could not agree more! Thank you JB. Best contemporary blues ARTIST hands down!
I love it.
