Well that looked yummy. I love the skin. It's part of the experience for me. Have you considered using mites to fight mites. I've had great success doing so. And while I only have a few years of experience, I've noticed when I keep the insects at bay, the rust is way better. I could be making up stuff - I have no idea really. But it's been working. Thanks as always A FIG
Thank YOU as always, Ed! But you know, I tried neem oil but burned my trees because I did it 3 nights in a row. 🫣 doh! However, there is something to what you are saying because now I have a family of praying mantises and I have zero pest/bug issue!! 🥳 everything is coming back beautifully!
@@afig3539 Oh my gosh I love them. I buy them anytime they're in stock. I swear they're from another planet. They look so wise. They stare me right in the eye. Some old cultures consider them something special I can't remember. Amazing that you're getting them naturally. Mine keep getting killed off. I'd buy some egg cases. The babies come out. I let loose like a 100. Then some I'll watch some get big - not huge but like an inch or 1.5 I've seen max. Then they disappear. Something is eating them. But the mites I buy are amazing and come in a pre-bagged hanging card so easy to distribute. I get two kinds: one for fig bud mite and one for other nasty things I dont want around. Those with nematodes and you're golden. Won't need chemicals. I hate neem oil. But your comment is hysterical. Now only if youtube would let me LAUGH at something instead of the boring thumbs up.
These are the mites I buy: Amblyseius swirskii - Spider Mite, Thrips, & Whitefly Control 100 Hanging Sachets (250 Mites Each) Amblyseius andersoni - Generalist, Tolerates High Heats The second one (Andersoni) will go after the fig bud mite. bye bye FMV
Oh wow!!! I will look into this!! Thanks so much! My mantises have been shedding their shells and growing like crazy! One of them is almost 8 inches long! It’s creepy how many exoskeletons are hanging off my fig leaves. 👻
@@afig3539 Holy moly what?!?!?!? Can you grab a photo of it? I'd love to see one that big I use naturesgoodguys for more than mites. Anytime I order, I always get ladybugs. Love having them fly around. They make it a better place, and they're incredibly less expensive than you would think. I also get red worms, lacewigs, nematodes pretty regularly. And then I buy things for specific purposes. I was having a fly problem last month. They have this mini wasp that goes after flies. I mean they have something for anything. EXCEPT LEAFHOPPERS. I need to literally kill them by hand. And without gloves because I am not nimble enough with gloves on. So gross. The bigger, the grosser.
