Boy is Russell smart, warned you about the wasps 😊, they could have bitten you while you were planting, everyone contributes in this family ❤
Yes he did, they say to spray early am or late pm. Laura, just took care of business😆
My thoughts exactly!
He warned you.
Russell is THE MAN! 🐈🙌
She's fearless....just grabbed the camera and the spray. Good kitty. Sneaky wasps.
I love smoke bushes. I have the wine coloured one in my backyard, they love water too. It also is great because when its getting a bit too bushy in my smaller space I can trim it back and amazingly it bounces back with new growth and new leaves flush out, which is a bit brighter red then the older leaves. So pretty! I keep seeing the blush or peach toned one in yards, and they get more smoke blooms than my variety. I would love one of those but need to find a spot for it first in my already developed garden😊
Russell deserves a big treat. Good boy for showing his human before the little humans got hurt ❤
Yes, a mother of little ones has no choice but to destroy that wasp nest under the bench.
@@paulacothren3591whether you’re a mother or not wasps are invasive
Good boy, Russell!
@@holly_kay5570 no
Russell earned Employee of the Week for sure, catching that wasp nest before someone got hurt! Good kitty!❤😸
Russell the wasp nest detecting cat😀 NICE!
Look at Russell saving the day!
Wish we could fast forward 20 years to see how beautiful the trees are going to be.
Yes but I don’t want to be 20 years older😊
It would be nice if there was a computer program that would simulate what your mature garden and tree growth would look like.
@@dolliemaesone😂
@@dolliemaesone😂 agree.
Russell is a truly wonderful cat! And you were able to understand what he was doing! Not everyone would have paid attention to a cat being jumpy. I absolutely love your videos, and have for years like most of us here, of course or the beauty and education, but also all the cute cat moments. Thank you and everyone on the team.
Let’s all take a moment to applaud Laura for putting a hat on in the scorching heat of the sun👏🏻
Something I’d thought we’d never witness 😉
Yes, it is wonderful to see!
This old Gardner had skin cancer removed a few months ago! Do not forget your sun screen, friends!
In forty years, she’ll be glad she did. I’m having my own issues and am going to the dermatologist more than I’d like.❤❤❤
Yes!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And she looked gorgeous, just like Samantha ♥️
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I just love the views from inside the Hartley looking out at the big trees and the partier garden 💚💗
I love how everyone helped plant the tree. I wonder what their answer would be if you asked Samantha and Benjamin what their parents do for a living. Great job Russell finding that wasp nest.
Thank you for listening to Russell. Some people would not have bothered. I agree. He deserves a treat!
There’s so much from this video that was just amazing…..but first off Russell deserves some extra pets and treats for sure! He warned you about those wasps and kept you guys from getting stung!! Hurrah for Russell!!
So many things that went in or work you did that was glorious! It’s becoming such an amazing garden in a BIG picture way! There are so many areas now that have shade and that are so exciting in so many different ways! I think that the garden/s deserve to be in one of the country’s gardening magazines that feature your amazing work!
It’s always so touching to see all of the family out there working together to plant something!
You’ve helped so many many people with gardening and you’ve helped so many people, like me for one, get thru a terribly difficult time coping with grief. Watching your channel every morning is a beautiful way to start my mornings and you have my extreme thanks for your beautiful channel.
Can’t wait for the unfolding story this summer and fall will bring to this wonderful garden! ❤️💫🌸🌳🌸💫❤️
Good job Russell finding that wasp nest. Your so sweet.
Laura is so fearless I would have been scared to spray them myself!
Russell deserves a big treat. What a sweetie, protecting mama. You guys did a lot, wow. The areas are looking fantastic. I know some don't like the hosta blooms but I love them, their so graceful, yours are beautiful. Love the little boxwood, I've been looking for a small boxwood, now I have a name. Thank you.
I'm with you! I never understood people's distaste for hosta blooms. I work at a nursery, and at this time of year you can't go a single day without seeing dozens of hummingbirds in the hosta section. They love them. I get that the stems can be a little wobbly and messy, but I feel like it's worth it for the pollinators.
I'm so thrilled you guys finally decided to plant a Tulip Tree! The flutter of the leaves in the wind make such a beautiful sound. It's the state tree of Tennessee, so we'll see how it goes in your area!
It’s a beautiful tree and the state tree of Indiana too 😊
@@bethconservative I had no idea it was Indiana's state tree too! TY!!
Our city just planted one last year in our front yard. It's pretty, but I hear they're a bit messy.
I had no idea it was our state tree (I’m sure I did a project of Tennessee’s state things in elementary school 😂). I don’t think I have one on our property- I’ll have to consider that!
The tulip poplars are so big and pretty! The leaf shape is unique. Looks like a maple leaf that got its tip trimmed off. The blooms are gorgeous, but when the tree gets big, you need binoculars to see them way up on the top of the tree. 🤣😂
You are so smart Laura to be protecting your skin. I did not and I’ve had skin cancer removed on my arm leaving a big scar. You learned from your mother to keep their skin all covered up.
Atta Boy Russell, you saved your Mom from a possible painful sting!! 🥰
Trees makes such a huge impact in a garden. Thank you so much for teaching me all things gardening. I would never have imagined myself the Gardner that I have become all because of garden answer. You and Aaron are masters at teaching and I will be forever grateful.
Love all the trees you planted. So thankful that you got the wasp nest before anyone got hurt.
Everything is beautiful way to go, Russell. You’re a hero.
Oh my…your two littles helping “plant” that tree! So priceless…and teaching your children good work ethics.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the gardening continues to evolve into a full family affair... From generation to generation!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Laura, You are so right, trees are a valuable asset everywhere, but especially in warmer climates. They provide cooling shade, absorb CO2, and release O2 as well as adding beauty to our neighborhoods, towns and cities. They do require upkeep and maintenance which can be an expense, but we need more trees, not fewer!
Thank you to you and Aaron for being advocates for trees.
I love all the trees, especially the Tulip Poplar tree. We have three along our driveway. It's the state tree of Tennessee, where we live. The squirrels love to eat what's left after it blossoms. Benjamin was worn out, so cute. And Samantha trying to help him, adorable! .
Y’all put in a lot hours getting all those trees planted! It looks glorious! Thanks for the quick tour of plants planted for this year again!❤❤❤
Good morning. I love the tree plantings. Your garden has evolved so much in just a few years. It's beautiful. 🐝🪴
There is something so satisfying to watch that huge auger digging holes! Love seeing your vision starting to develop. Trees just make a property! Good job Russell ❤
I’m so happy to see the trees getting planted. It hurts my heart to see them sitting lonely in pots so long. Everything is so beautiful. I love your videos. Thank you.
4:20 Wow those Julia Child rose trees in the background truly are glorious and happy! They are so breathtakingly beautiful and commanding of one’s attention.
Yes, they are!
The more I watch you plant boxwoods the more I want to add to my yard. ❤
Hi GA Family,
How lovely, for each trunk on the Birch represents a family member who contributed to the planting. ❤️🩷🩵💙
🚿 11:03 Seeing the kids drinking from the hose bought back the good ol’ fashion summer memories. Great to see.
Same memories here - seems we’ve come a long way as a society from hose to bottled water.
Russell is a very good boy for showing you the wasp nest before anyone got hurt. He deserves a big treat! I love that you don't hide your kids from view. They enjoy helping, and it's so much fun to watch them learn and grow. Your property is so beautiful!
Finally, a Tulip Tree 👏!
Now if they’d just plant a horse chestnut tree, I could die happy. 🤣
Lovin all the beautiful trees and a badge of honor for Russel's outstanding protection! 😻
Love the hat Laura. My dermatologist has me wearing one every time I work outside. Also, I love seeing the whole family working together, spending quality time together. Work and play is making a 0:30 strong family bond. Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor with us and the beauty of God’s green earth.
I’m amazed at how much you’ve planted in just the last year alone. So beautiful.
Thank you Laura for setting a good example by wearing a hat to protect your head and face from the hot sun. Protecting our skin from the sun should be a goal for all of us. A sun hat would be a good addition to your GA store. 🌿🌸🌿
🌱That hat came off sooner that I was predicting 🤣🤣
@@mariafolch8067 Lol, I figured it wouldn't make it too long
It’s hard to get use to wearing a hat. I’m trying to convert from a ball cap to one with a brim and it’s a struggle for me. Great effort Laura. Baby steps.
@@beachseeker634 good idea👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@gardeningwithmamabird don’t give up your going to find the most perfect garden hat before you know it👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️🍸🍸🍸
I love my tulip tree. It grows quick. It's native. It's always absolutely beautiful. Everyone comments on this tree.
Our tulip trees are wild in our woodd. HUGE, mixed in with the red oaks! Seed all over the place!
Hi Laura and Aaron - I’m fortunate that red bud trees self-seed in my yard in Ontario, Canada, so I haven’t had to buy any, and now that they’ve matured the yard is a burst of purple buds in Spring! It’s interesting to see you introducing different leaf varieties. Tree planting days have become my favourite, as the land transforms before our eyes!
I agree.ivee been pulling out baby seedlings eveywhere my yard.their soooo agressive like sometimes i wish i dont have it but redbud is already here when we bought the house.im from hamilton.❤
@@gracieshomeandgardens5089I’ll take your seedlings ha! 😂❤
I am so proud of you Laura for wearing your hat. I personally hate hats always have. But when you work outside they are a must. I live in Arizona so for sure a hat is needed.
I love that gardening Is a labor of love for the whole family with Laura and Aaron.
Another great afternoon spent with our freind Laura.❤ u girl
Your garden gets more beautiful every day!😍😍😍
You have made my day! I just noticed you started putting the names of the trees in the description. Thank you so much for that.
Laura almost sacrificing herself to show us the wasp nest. Couldn’t imagine what would happened if Russel hadn’t been there. He saved you. BTW everything is just looking beautiful in the landscape. Wow!!!! Most of my plants here in 9B zone is fried. Ugh! I HATE Summer.
I’m 9b inland central Florida. I’m a native here and rarely suffered much with the heat until the last few years. It’s getting hotter and I’m getting older. 💚💚💚
Seriously? "Sacrificing herself"
The family that plants together grows together. Loved watching you all planting together!
Laura, I am 78 years old and very fair. My grandmother pounded into my head to not let my skin see the sun. Obviously, I did get some sun from waterskiing when younger and gardening as an adult but I always wore a hat. I am so glad I did because I look 20 years younger than my friends my age. I know you don’t think it matters now but you will be wearing sun damage for the rest of your life.
Yes my father dealt with skin cancer. He loved his gardens as much as you. Encourage your family and set and explain to them
Oh I am so excited that you planted a tulip tree! I grew up with one in our yard, and it was at its full height. It was a glorious tree! Aaron is gonna love that tree!
WHOA!!! A hat?!! Times sure are changing! 🤣Also kudos to Russell! That birch is beautiful!!
New line of products--- Laura hats!!!!! Looks very cute!!! As someone who grew up in the sun and is now paying for it.... please protect yourself while you're young!!!
Wide brim hats are so important to protecting your skin. Skin cancer is not a joke. Erin needs one too.
Love watching the property grow. Looking forward to see how each of the land additions develop, the South and prior gazebo areas have come so far. Grateful your children will be able to watch these trees grow and recall the memories of their planting 💕
The rose tree is amazingly beautiful ❤ And Laura.. even with dirt on your face . You are beautiful. ❤
Good morning i would love a garden answer hat!!!😀with my kneeling pad and Tee. Thanks Russell! would have been a terrible outcome anyone/kids sitting or playing in the area kudos to Russell take care momma Laura
The sound of the Birch trees as the wind blows is so beautiful
We plant a tulip tree in every house we move to, haha. We love them! Takes a few years for them to start blooming, but they are beautiful trees!
I love watching the big things I could never have go in! Starting to like tree planting way to much!
Laura, Everything around the Hartley is so beautiful . Love the color combination . Roses are gorgeous. Doing such a good job. ❤😊
Good morning, Laura ☕️ I adore those little boxwoods! They’re so adorable! The Minin Me Coleus are gorgeous, too! I love tree planting day! All coming together! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
The sound of that wasp..
It was very close.
Good Boy Russell ❤.
Love the videos.
For ten years I've been interested and hooked. Thank you Laura, Aaron and family
He may not be able to help garden with those thumbs but hes still helping out, so cute. 🐈♥️
How blessed your neighbors are!
I am so excited about that tulip tree. Mine didn’t make it, but I will try again for sure. I hear hummingbirds love those blooms!
I love watching your videos. It always makes me smile and want to plant something! I am absolutely amazed at how much you and Aaron have accomplished in such a short period of time. The trees are gorgeous and add so much to your gardens! I would love to walk your stone paths and take in all the beautiful views of your gardens. Thanks for sharing another great video! 🤗❤️
💕 love the round evergreen shrubs perfect picture love the pink and purple flowers trees and shrubs with flowers 👍
Most people go to hotels on vacation and look at the pool. Laura and Aaron go and check out the trees 🌲 🌳 😂🤣
Thanks, Russell!! He deserves a treat.....😊 I know you have a million projects but I am looking forward to seeing what you will do someday with the area behind that bench. Love all the videos!
Your videos are just amazing . So much content and quality, I’m really grateful to you !!!
Your garden has developed so much. Remembering how it was when you started it is amazing the progress you have made. I love it. The trees look great and they add so much beauty and interest to the garden. Your talent for design is amazing. Thank you for sharing you garden with us. have a blessed day everyone.
Bravo Russell! You saved two wonderful children from wasp stings. Good kitty!🤗
Everything is looking glorious. I love watching when you guys plant the trees. Learning so much about the different ones. Another great video.
Good boy Russell for alerting Laura of the hornets nest! Those small boxwoods are so pretty!
Love all the trees you planted, especially the tulip tree.
OOo you’re so brave spraying those wasps during the daytime! I did that ONCE and got stung many time and I was 4-5’ away, not as close as you were! Love seeing the birch tree added. 😍
Love the video!❤ Russell is the Best Kitty, alerting you to the wisps nest. 🥰 Absolutely love Benjamin and Samantha helping. So cute. The trees are awesome. Would love to just take a stroll around your beautiful property. Enjoy and have a blessed day!❤
Watching your videos "fulfill" me. I've been binge watching from the beginning, and I have a lot more to go but it brings me joy to see what beauty you provide in your corner of the world. I have a brand new home and an empty yard that was just hydo-seeded. I'm learning from your videos what I could put in my little stamp of a lawn.
Everything is looking so beautiful! I love those pathways so much they just invite you into the garden❣️
The trees look so good! Love Russell!!❤
Tulip Tree: we had a tulip tree in my childhood home. It was such a beautiful tree and when it blooms it looks spectacular! Great choice.
I started planting trees about 35 years ago, when I was younger. At that time, all I had was full sun exposure and I couldn't wait to have some shade. Now, I have lots of shade and, you're right, it does make those areas much more user-friendly, but I miss the full sun areas lol I should be slowing down, as an aging gardener; instead, I find myself making plans to "re-vamp" certain areas, making them more age-friendly. Once a gardener, always a gardener!
I loved seeing the trees go into your landscape and can just imagine what they will look like eventually. Russell deserves extra treats for pointing out the wasp nest.
I love the T-shirt reference to the tulip tree leaves!
Nice to see Russell and glad he found that wasp nest while it was still so small! Love all the trees planted. there was a majestic tulip tree planted in the front yard of our first home. It kept our second floor apartment nicely shaded and cool❤️😊
Go Russell. I hope he didn’t get stung.
thanks Laura!
so fascinating how Russell was alarmed by the wasps… 🦟🐈
nice hat! 👒
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
❤❤❤
Dirt is so good to touch, helps with mental health, immune and skin. I do like seeing you wear a hat, gloves and sunglasses sometimes😍😇❤🎉
I love watching this channel because everyone is so positive. Also wanted to mention that everything looks very professional, the editing is top notch and the dubbing in about the hat was just perfect!
I love the Tulip Trees! The fragrance in the spring is wonderful!!
I love Aaron’s big gorgeous lawn of grass and trees, as much as I love your gardens.
My goal is to get my backyard and front yard with lots and lots of perennials. But mostly with 🌳 that provide shade. I’m in 9B zone so it gets very hot here in the summer. Laura has inspired me so much to make this possible. ❤ 🌳 🌲
Talk about a day's work! I could watch you guys plant trees all day.
Everything in the dirt lands etc is looking so put together!
Your dedication to landscaping with boxwoods behind Hartley, planting 10 big trees, and offering mini annual tours is truly inspiring. Your passion for gardening and commitment to beautifying spaces shines through your work. Your ability to share knowledge and create welcoming environments is admirable. You embody the spirit of creativity and community. And I am Floating Village Life
I just love the birch tree location. Russell is a little smarty cat!
We have a tulip poplar that one of our kids brought home from school as a tiny tiny plant. It is probably close to the 60 feet max height and growing. This year I've found small ones growing in some flower beds. I'll be transplanting them soon! Just love them!
I have fond memories of tulip trees while growing up. The leaves are so beautiful. Laura, the area you worked on by the crabapple looks gorgeous! I noticed it right away when you guys were all out there planting the trees. ❤
That is why I have to pay attention when my cats react to something. Good boy Russell! I love the hat Laura!
Love purple beech! My favourite northern hemisphere tree along with horse chestnuts.
Those hostas with the stripe of chartreuse really look beautiful with the mini me coleus. Very smart to put them together.
Good boy Russell!😺 Extra pets for you! Trees trees trees, love it!
