In the movie "The Hunt" (accessible on the "Movies" activity), the dinosaur is Monoclonius. It is a Monoclonius; not a Triceratops. This is because Monoclonius had one horn; and Triceratops had three (2 long horns on the head and 1 short horn on the nose).
I remember playing this non-stop as a kid, along with Eyewitness Dinosaur Hunter! Fueled my childhood dream of paleontology, the animations were fantastic and listening to the funny guide tour guy's narration. Great nostalgia trip! 🌟
I just randomly got an image of this game from the darkest depths of my memories from when I was about 5 or 6, I was obsessed and used to play/watch it all the time. I googled only pc dinosaur informational game and boom. Couldn't remember the name or anything but it was so satisfying to find this and get all the memories back. Thank you!
Oh my gosh. That little girl inside me, is screaming. She is laughing, smiling. I am smiling! I have seen those beautiful animated videos in late 90's and ever since I have wondered what CD it was that I put on the PC on the first time of my life and as a dinosaurus fan, I was so thrilled! And now I found it! After about 20 years... I FOUND IT!! THANK YOU! I really can't thank you enough! This made my day, for a long time! I am almost crying, feeling so much different feelings! Oh my gosh, I really did found it...! And by an accident! I saw a video randomly on UA-cam front page that said "a different Dinosaur we never saw" and Tippett was mentioned there. I looked at the video and thought that looked familiar. I found that "Prehistoric beasts" movie and thought; huh.. that looked like it, story is the same, but it was animated that I saw or at least it was "pixelated"... And after a little googling... I FOUND IT!
I used to have one of these, but then these meanies came and bonked me on the head, punched me all over my body and broke my Microsoft dinosaur CD. Pushed me down the stairs and my shoes fell off.
I randomly think about this game about once a year for over a decade and I haven't been able to find it until today. We had this game on the PC in my kindergarten class, I use to play this and another point and click game (That I can't find) whenever I could. I loved watching the dinosaur fight at 21:56. Was the first place I ever saw blood, even if it was fake.
me too! oh man! I remember watching this at 4 years old, and it absolutely terrified me. I actually hadn't watched it since then, and I just did again and man, it brought back so many memories. even now it's pretty terrifying.
there were screensavers you could use in this program and one was of dinosaur footprints - i would put it on as almost background noise for all my dinosaur themed playtime. it always got me so excited. thanks for uploading
I remember playing this game and my coworkers came into my office, beat me up, broke my pencils, and cut up my microsoft dinosaur cd’s and cut me all over my body
13:54, 19:55, 20:49, 18:43 & 16:45 I know where these come from. These clips of the animated Dinosaurs come from that 4 part PBS documentary The Dinosaurs. I wish it would be released on DVD right about now. Another thing bothers me. I wonder what Documentary these other animated Dinosaurs come from? dinopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Mystery_Animated_Dinosaur_Documentary#Gallery A real Documentary of its very own before placed as Stock Footage.
In "The Magic School Bus: 'Explores in the Age of Dinosaurs'" (another Microsoft game), Muttaburrasaurus (from said game) is pronounced "myu-tah-burr-ah-saurus". But the 1st syllable in that name is pronounced "moo" (here in "Microsoft Dinosaurs"). Also, it was an iguanodont related dinosaur. It was a relative of Iguanodon. It was not a duckbill (or "hadrosaur").
You can download an ISO of the CD-ROM at archive.org (or make an ISO of the original CD-ROM) Then use VirtualBox or VMware to create a virtual machine with Windows 95. You can then mount the ISO as an optical drive.
I’m so glad I grew up with a dinosaur centered childhood thanks to this, Power Rangers, Flintstones. I always really liked this guy and Macintosh. No less I had a Power Rangers CD ROM. I think this is still somewhere in my garage.

I thought styracosaurus
This movie was created by stop motion animator Phil Tippett. He used it as concept work for Jurassic Park before it was revised to computer graphics.
I wonder who made the other animations?
Man, as a dinosaur-obsessed eight year old I LOVED this program. The guided tours were my favourite. Thanks for uploading this!
You're welcome. :)
In my elementary school years, I loved this
Same!

Man. I miss this so much. I love to spend hours on this.
I love Microsoft dinosaurs
Back when Microsoft got things right! Now onto Cinemania 95 :-)
Ahh, the good old days
The Microsoft Dinosaurs PC game used the same animation as in Dinosaurs: Nature of the Beast on PBS, named David Alexovich.

Can someone please tell me where I can find this game and is it possible to be downloaded?
my god i havent seen this in over 20 years
4:44 That's not how Muttaburrasaurus is pronunced. I know' I live in Australia.

And the posture is innacurate. It should be quadrapedal not vertically bipedal.
Wow! One of my few decent childhood memories. Anywhere I can download this safely?
Me too, I remember the videos and they kinda freaked me out as a child
Does anyone recall the build a better dinosaur clip from this game? Wondering if there's anywhere I can see that.
Question: how did you get this to run on your PC? Do you use emulation software or just own a really old computer?
You can download an ISO of the CD-ROM at archive.org (or make an ISO of the original CD-ROM) Then use VirtualBox or VMware to create a virtual machine with Windows 95. You can then mount the ISO as an optical drive.

I used to have this on CD-ROM but one day my coworkers beat me up and broke it.
Aww jeez I bet they cut you with it too gosh
14:24 They copied Disney Dinosaur Oviraptor noise!
This existed years before the disney movie
Also, "The Fight" movie is a clip from the Phil Tippets short film "Prehistoric Beast". The dinosaurs in the said movie is a T.Rex and a Monoclonius.
