I thoroughly enjoy Juicy Scoop. Listening to Heather recount her childhood a latch key kid takes me back to my own childhood in the 70's which was a great time to grow up. Today's kids will never know the freedom that we had back then.

OMG one of the funniest stories I’ve heard in a long time!
One thing I’d like to point out: there are so many variables when it comes to “generations” and how they are raised. I was born in the 70’s; my world was so quiet compared to my kids’ worlds. If we wanted to listen to music, we had to crack out our records and play them, or tape songs off the radio. If we wanted news/information, we had to tune in to the 6o’clock news (no one did this except adults). Today, these kids are bombarded 24hrs a day with everything: news/music/information/play by play of their friends’ social lives curated to look like perfection. We didn’t have to know if we weren’t included in a party, etc. If we did something embarrassing while out w friends, we weren’t filmed and it certainly wasn’t posted for all of our peers to judge. I am very glad to have been raised when I was. I don’t envy these kids. We are learning the fallout of social media and not restricting screen time (enough) etc.. Of course mental health is a major issue right now. It will only get worse if we don’t, as a society, figure out what’s best for raising children.
This episode had it all - two comedians trading stories, hilarious latchkey kid stories that are so relatable to gen-x, and how to be a good passenger on a super yacht. Now off to work!

When I was in my 20s, my friends and I would use the men's room if there was a line in the ladies. Men didn't mind they thought it was funny and we didn't have to wait! We did this in nightclubs, sports arenas restaurants, you name it lol.
Yes, I did, too! Once that first beer was down, my bladder would scream, “GO NOW!” You find a bathroom as quickly as possible! 🤣

In Finland all things are unisex - except in the shopping malls (they are a bit different than the US ones like our airports) but even then, people go every which way. I have never cared about those labels.

I did seasonal work in my twenties and we all drunk most nights of the week, and worked hard the next day because your body can handle it. Cut to 20 years later and I can barely have half a glass of wine without feeling it the next day 🤦♀️

I worked at a high end club doing bottle service for over 10 years. They preauthorize credit cards to make sure the money's there before they open it and screwed.The owners are getting there money no matter what even if the server has to pay it.Had it happen to me were the bottle was open somehow before the card was run and it declined but somehow we were able to get a regular to buy it and another time I ran friends with money a huge tab without getting cards and they walked out.Ended up finally getting my money back from them
I’m from FL, near the Villages and in the age group of the people who live in there. 13:58 I dated an ER doctor who warned me about the rampant STD’s among seniors all up and down the state coming from the Villages!

Hello. Cheesecake Factory employee reporting. The fried Mac n cheese balls are 100% made in house. We have a massive prep kitchen and prep staff that makes everything fresh. Also there’s no way that that dish wouldn’t have been comped off the check.

I live in Oregon and I went to the local Safeway grocery store the next day after hearing that podcast. I take a glance down the grocery aisle and there is a loufa in every color that you talked about... hanging there for sale!

I had to do a "naturalistic field observation" project and report to graduate with my BA and I did it with Mary Kay. What a trip it was! So many rituals and rules and regulations and indoctrination. It was fascinating entering that world for a minute.

Heather, there's a fascinating documentary about the sole plane crash survivor of a horrific crash in South America in the 70's named Juliana Koepcke (sp?). She was 14 years old at the time, and sitting in the rear of the plane in the aisle. That seat saved her life, initially, but after she landed in the jungle she needed to stay alive for another 10 days, wading through a river to safety. In the documentary, she returns to the plane crash site. This is one of the most riveting stories I've ever seen and highly recommend it! (Found it on youtube, can't remember the name!)

My plumber did the turn around the tablet for a tip. I never knew I was supposed to tip my plumber. My son is a server and he makes less than $3.00/hour. Definitely tip your servers! They work hard.

This needs to happen to more schools. In the Bethel School district students are being attacked in the bathroom. The attacker and friends are recording it and putting it on Instagram. Unfortunately the superintendent Tom S doesn't care!!! It's sickening to see. I put my child in a different district after seeing the complete laxidasical attitude of the school board and superintendent! Single bathrooms are safer. The actress was Victoria Principal! Love her. Such a kind and talented actress.

I work at Dollar Tree and the loofas are literally falling off the shelves! Swingers come to Dollar Tree for your loofa needs! We also have pens with little pineapples on top!

As a petite female, and former competitive swimmer, size and strength are everything. I had to quit swim team at age of 14, due to my very petite size. Up until puberty and growth acceleration, I was able to compete with my peers, successfully. I had to accept my size was not conducive to competing in swimming any longer. It broke my heart, as swimming was my heart for 8 yrs. I should have stuck with gymnastics, but it was too expensive in the 70s. My point: In no world is it fair to women, to compete in swimming against a bio male, developed thru puberty as a male. Not anti anyone, but stop messing with ladies sports. Find your own lane.

If you don’t tip a server, that person likely deserves it more now, because non tippers are usually a pain to deal with. If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to eat out.

I worked in many restaurants in my younger years and if the customer walks out on the bill, the server must cover the tab. In essence, it’s your job to get the money. (Never mind for the restaurant it could be used as a loss)
