Excellent presentation Duane. This gave me a much better understanding on how to manage the Anytone AT-868UV plus. While I wait for my transceiver to arrive I will go through all of your videos several times and hopefully do all of the updates and get on the air soon via my hotspot. Thank you again for a great video. Vy 73 de Ekendra 4S7EF
I set my 878uv plus to have the GPS set my date and time after I set the -5 hours. I think this will keep it updated, I will need to change for Daylight saving time.
Hey Duane - can you advise where I can get hold of a codeplug for the Anytone 878UVPlus please? Can't seem to find one anywhere? Thanks in advance. Great informative video which I will follow as soon as I can get a codeplug and load it up!
All the software I have seen for this radio is Windows-based is there anything Lenix out there? I am blind and my friend is using Lenix so I’m doing the best I can and try to be helpful! Any ideas?
Out of curiosity, can DTMF tones be used as DMR call tones (the ones which tell you that the channel is idle and digital radio things like that, basically) with these radios?
Hi Clyde, it sounds like you may have skipped a couple of FW updates. Look back at FW 1.10 / 1.11 the Icon Update folders should be there. If you cannot find it, let me know and I will get it to you. Duane
Ordered the package with the DV Hotspot - showed up without even a manual! ZERO help from their support. It's all going back tomorrow. You'd be better off sending your messages by carrier pigeon.
Wow, the entire video is about where to find the manual and instructions. Sorry you missed all of the information. Sincerely wish you good luck going forward with your next DMR purchase. It is a great mode of operation in my opinion.
Getting the Anytone 868UV today. But I find all these instructions to be a bit much. I am new to this digital world and I have to say I find all that one has to do to be to be too complicated. Its not very user friendly at all. I create websites using PHP and its not as complicated as what one has to do to get this radio to a usable state. Too many programs to use, too many steps to follow. Too many websites from which to obtain program files, each with different instructions. You did not wish to provide a vendor from which to obtain software. But that leaves new users like me in the dark about where to find the exact programs you show in the video. I am quite discouraged and I don't even have the radio in my hand yet.
N2LRB Going to Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) radio can seem to be an overwhelming task. But thousands have done it. The D868UV latest programming software (CPS) and Firmware (FW) is V2.34. Always use the same revision CPS and FW. The las digits are the key, for FW V2.34 you want CPS V1.34. This version changed the radio menu background to dark, so there is an extra step of upgrading the screen Icons as well as the FW. An excellent site to download true officially released FW is www.anytone.de which is posted by one of my fellow beta testers. This site will always have the latest official release. I can understand why this would be seen as complicated, because it is much different from Analog radio programming. If you need some help getting started, email me at N6DMR@dmreese.com and we can set up a time to get together. I can logon to your PC and walk you through the basics, and get you started with a programming your radio for your local area. I do this a lot and I can shorten the learning curve based on your needs. 73, Duane
N2LRB Wow, yes DMR in itself has a steep learning curve. Don’t get discouraged. Try www.miklor.com, John has some basic DMR primers that should help. If you have a local club see if you can get someone with a bit of DMR experience to work with you.
