I'm pretty sure I've heard/read that Ghost Babel is basically an alternate canon dead-end where MG1 and 2 happened, but then GB happens instead of MGS1 and then that timeline branch just ends lol. EDIT: Put more simply, it's not canon but takes place in a reality where MG1 and 2 still happened.
Hearing you talk about the Nikita forced me to hop down here right away, its one of the most fun weapons in mgs1! Using it against Sniper Wolf is such a riot!! Ghost babel and the acid series are the only metal gear games I haven't played for myself, part of me is holding out hope that they'll be included on the master collection 2... I never realized how nice the graphical styling is for MGGB and now I'm really yearning for it on my tv screen lol
Alright yeah actually I should've phrased it as 'mandatory sections' for the Nikita. I always forget some of the funnier things you can use it for haha
Not saying it matters but; ghost babel is not canon. Or at least to the general sense. There’s the theory that it’s raiden playing through some of solids missions, via vr training. Some people look at twin snakes that same way. But it has never been confirmed by hideo if it’s canon, so for now it’s not canon at all. While mgs2 solid snake is canon, the original msx games are canon. Not the nes game tho of course, same goes for portable ops. And yes both portable ops and ghost babel have shown up in other games, but this is just pure reference and doesn’t confirm anything. Sorry that was long it just kinda bothered me lol. Great video tho, I highly recommend ghost babel for people who are fans of the msx games. But as a handheld experience you’re probably better playing the master collection or getting peacewalker.
