I have had Achilles surgery on both my feet. I can’t sit like that. I sit as close as I can and sometimes have to reposition during prayer. I’d rather maintain my intention and be close to Allah than be distracted by pain. Alhamdulillah I know He understands.
Believe me I’m pretty sure Allah is not rejecting salat and dua because of how you sit . Just saying if that would’ve been the case he would’ve been specific in the Quran like with everything else
This isn’t a fard of the salat. It’s a sunnah cuz this is how the prophet personally sat during tashahud. If you don’t do it that’s fine and ur prayer is valid but if you do it Allah gifts you extra good deeds for imitating the Prophet SAW

It is sunnah, so you can also sit like how you like. But it is always the best way to follow the sunnah (sunnah means what our prohpet peace be upon him used to do )
Don’t worry about it , it is a sunnah , if you do it you will be more rewarded, if you don’t it’s ok also so to begin with if in the first couple couple of months you don’t use that position it is ok

This manner of sitting is one of the sunnahs of prayer, but it is not obligatory. The one who does it will be rewarded for it, but there is no sin on the one who does not do it. If the worshipper is not able to sit muftarishan, because he is heavy, or he feels pain in his feet, or for other reasons, there is nothing wrong with him sitting in whatever manner is easy for him, because Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning): {So fear Allah as much as you are able} [at-Taghabun 64:16]. And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If I instruct you to do something, then do as much of it as you are able.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (7288) and Muslim (1337). It says in Asna al-Matalib (1/164): However the worshipper sits at the points in the prayer where sitting is required, it is valid, but the best is to sit mutawarrikan in the final sitting and to sit muftarishan in all other sittings.
