"Our Lives Have No Value”| COVID Horror in UP Hospital | Aligarh | MOJO on Ground

- Mojo Story's Anoop reports from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh on deaths of hundreds of teachers due to COVID from forced poll duty in the recently held Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Polls. We also talk to several people to know the situation on ground about vaccination, treatment in hospitals and availability of medical facilities; beds, oxygen, ventilators and medicines. A person told us that his patient is being referred from one hospital to the other and is unable to find a single bed for his patient. He also added that he keeps doing grounds of hospitals but no one is there to help him. He is also quite disappointed with the government and the authorities. "Our lives have no value in their eyes. They live and travel in AC cars and leave us to die. We are being treated like insects", he says. A women who was also seeking a bed for her patient in the hospital and failed to get it accused the hospital authorities of taking bribe to allot beds. There's a scene of chaos and confusion in the hospital as well as of the patients rush here and there in order to get the patient admitted. On the other hand, the authority seem to be careless of the pain and suffering of the people. As UP Government claims that there is no shortage of ambulance, doctors, medical staffs, beds and oxygen in the whole state of Uttar Pradesh, we saw a family losing their loved one in ambulance waiting outside the hospital to get admitted.

"Our lives have no value" - This is a slow but harsh realisation by the rural and under privileged population of India. Urban Indians, especially Mumbaikars like me are living with this reality since more than a decade now. It was just a matter of time that the innocent and emotional rural people who are easily swayed by the toxic ideologies of politicians, came face to face with this.
So you blame the present dispensation, fair enough.....but when was the lives of the poor had value in India ever? The answer is NEVER.

These ministers and officers have ample authority and resources to bring about positive change and progress in society, both infrastructure wise and mentality wise. Even they have not yet started distributing the international medical aid which arrived more than a week back. The government is busy with their election rallies and other things which should have been delayed. And the people affected with covid are dying like anything.

Our professors usually r discussing G AND M PROTEINS IN discussions ,I think it was better to discuss these issues in hospitals ,seminars and debates . so that we can find a way to help these poor people

I've been watching Indian news lately even though I don't understand the language. And every time I saw like this it breaks my heart deeply. I hope and pray that ASAP it gets better for our brothers and sisters in India. Hoping the news will soon uplifted to being people were at ease and or ok with the care and oxygen they need.
