- Mojo Story's Anoop reports from Bhainsa Kund cremation ground which is also one of the biggest crematorium in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow and is exclusively reserved for COVID dead bodies. Experts have earlier argued that the number of COVID deaths are being underreported and not all deaths due to coronavirus are even being counted. We ventured out to look for on ground situation but were not allowed inside the crematorium premises due to some reasons. When we reached the funeral ground we saw long lines of pyres burning with dead bodies. As soon as we reached, some people at the funeral site asked us to stop recording the scene and asked us to return back. We also talked to a volunteer at the site who told us about the social service he along with his friend is doing. "We have modified our gypsy to accomodate dead bodies and we get calls from across the city to carry the body to the cremation ground. We also distribute water bottles here", he said. Upon asked whether the data of Covid deaths is being manipulated and what is he seeing on ground as to how many bodies are being cremated everyday, he refused to comment and said there's no point in counting the dead.
