The amount of family members in the COVID wards and ICU are shocking. They are going to be the patients in the next 1-2weeks and the vicious cycle would just continue on and on.

I have seen a lot of videos regarding the COVID crisis in India and this is the most disturbing one. Seeing the sons trying to revive their mother was heartbreaking. No one should go through this type of suffering. The Indian government should be ashamed of itself.

Absolutely..they are the ones responsible. For a whole year they were busy with elections, toppling governments, and religious gatherings when they should have expanded medical facilities.
I was in the ICU a month ago (not for covid, for organ failure) and I had a nurse that helped just me and the boy next to me. I was in a room with about five other people but none of us were fully conscious, but as I recovered I was transferred to a private room. I live in Washington DC and while it is definitely not perfect, I feel so lucky to have been able to get such care. They saved my life and the only difference we noticed in the hospital was that my parents could only visit me for a few hours a day. I wish all the best for India ❤️

Even those who have survived are left with health conditions that they will carry with them throughout their lives. It’s called a developing country for a reason. Over the last 74 years, India has struggled and the changes are very slow. There are way too many poor and the wealthy are able to progress. It is the middle men who mess up the system. A lot of corruption still exists. I remember having to wait in line for basic service for over 5 hours and then when I got to the front, I was asked to come back. We had to pay to get the service, so imagine what it is like for those who don’t have money that struggle for a lifeline. The hospitals are built like hotels, the more money you have the better off you’ll be. It’s like booking a room and in fact the rates are categorized as such, ward bed, economy, delux, premier, ambassador, presidential room. What kind of hospital has a system setup where you have to pay a higher price for a nice room to get your healthcare service needs met. It’s a joke. There needs to be more regulatory oversight over these hospitals.

I was in the ICU a month ago (not for covid, for organ failure) and I had a nurse that helped just me and the boy next to me. I was in a room with about five other people but none of us were fully conscious, but as I recovered I was transferred to a private room. I live in Washington DC and while it is definitely not perfect, I feel so lucky to have been able to get such care. They saved my life and the only difference we noticed in the hospital was that my parents could only visit me for a few hours a day. I wish all the best for India ❤️

It’s called a developing country for a reason. Over the last 74 years, India has struggled and the changes are very slow. There are way too many poor and the wealthy are able to progress. It is the middle men who mess up the system. A lot of corruption still exists. I remember having to wait in line for basic service for over 5 hours and then when I got to the front, I was asked to come back. We had to pay to get the service, so imagine what it is like for those who don’t have money that struggle for a lifeline. The hospitals are built like hotels, the more money you have the better off you’ll be. It’s like booking a room and in fact the rates are categorized as such, ward bed, economy, delux, premier, ambassador, presidential room. What kind of hospital has a system setup where you have to pay a higher price for a nice room to get your healthcare service needs met. It’s a joke. There needs to be more regulatory oversight over these hospitals.
