This ending reminds me of the setup for Julius mode in Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. Melina mode with the Lord of Frenzied Flame as a final boss would be a sick DLC/spinoff
It's called tranquil fury she's pissed obviously but instead of giving into a blind hot fury she using her anger to strengthen her resolve into a cold hard edge of revenge.
The way she looks dead into camera as though gazing through the fourth wall gives me chills every time. It's like she knows our tarnished is just an avatar controlled by we extradimensional beings, and she knows we're to blame for fucking up her world.
Dude I finished the game and now I feel stupid for missing all these questlines. truly commendable that you have found them and made guides for us to find. Thanks
There has to be dlcs following up on each ending, Like Melina being the final boss when following up on this ending, an outer god for the Ranni ending or even going against the two fingers at the neutral ending thanks to you burning the erdetree
So I'm pretty convinced she's the spirit of the gloam-eyed queen. Possible Spoilers ahead: She has dialog saying she wants to know why she's "burned and bodiless". Marika is her "mother" and the way she seems familiar with "Destined Death" is kind of loaded. The gloam-eyed queen originally wieded the black flame which could kill gods and deliver to them "Destined Death". Your essentially a god which makes me think the black flame in particular can kill you. Especially with Order more or less burned away. In the Morgott fight she uses fire. That's not wild or anything but she has familiarity with its use. My big thing here is Marika is her mother and singularly. I think Marika created her from whatever remains of the gloam-eyed queen she possesses and smothered her with "Order" to not know herself or what she is truly capable of. In the Frenzied Flame ending Order is burned away. My thoughts are in the same way binding "Destined Death" to Maliketh's blade weakened it, burning away "Order" weakened it as well. I don't think it's completely gone the same way Destined Death wasn't completely gone but I think, if she's really the gloam-eyed queen then it makes sense that burning order would release her from whatever goal Marika tried to put on her.
Marika is def not her mother. She was born at the foot of the tree. Meaning roots. IMO/theory i think ranni cast aside her flesh to not only ward off the fingers and the greater will but to reincarnate the dusk eye queen with half her soul. which would explain why she only appears in spirit/summon form as well as their visual similarities up until she fully reveals her true appearance in the frenzy flame ending. The dusk eye queen most certainly was alive before the erdtree became one n all in the lands. Maybe her home was below the roots where she was forced to flee due to the elden beast taking over and planting the erdtree? We now know that there was an elden ring of a different era before the erdtree, so as some items suggest; she was the original warden for destined death before Maliketh was sent to slay her. The elden ring we know, has its lower arch pointed upwards, with other circles conjoined in the center but the prior elden ring has the same arch pointing upwards but has roots spiraling outwards below that arch
I agree with your theory and am of the same mind :). One thing I would like to add to give even more credence to your theory is that Marika had Maliketh sealed away Destined death and remove it from the Elden Ring. This caused life unending in the Lands Between. The Gloam-Eyed Queen and Maliketh battled and history states Maliketh won. In his victory he sealed away the blackflames true strength which was likely the orignal form of destined death which is represented possibly by Melina's closed eye. With Maliketh's defeat, her eye is open possibly insinuating she was the original owner of destined death and possibly was the original owner of the Rune of Death which Maliketh was guarding. I beleive she is Marika's daughter or another Fragment of Marika sinilar to Radagon with her own set of ideals and Great Rune. Another theory is an outergod could dwell in her eye sinilar to the Fire Giant, this theory can be back by those the worship and are sedcuee by the blackflame. Whatever the case, Marika turned on Melina and sealed away the ability to die out of her own Hubris. Melina's Goal seems to be to restore the cycle of life and death so the natural order can occur again. The Godskins may have been overzealous in their original hunt which may be why Marika had Maliketh defeat her. Melina just may not remember what happened or payed the price of it with her fleshly body similar to how Ranni did with the Night of the Black Knives. Its curious that she is existing in some spirit realm after all....
More like after realizing her being Messmer’s sister and most likely has something like his Based Serpent, I more worried about the Tarnished. Especially when she seems to be able to wield Destined Death here
Yeah they really had to twist the knife by saying and you killed best boy torrent. Which sucks because she says he chose you at the beginning. In a sense he's your first supporter. Boy gets done dirty.
@@azearaazymoto461but you also become way dumber (but a faith built version of the tarnished would be stupid to fight against, only incarnations because I feel like most faith weapons are slow for some reason, and then with infinite fp, blessing of the erdtree, no way to be backstabbed and buffed poise you could sustain anything, and then big AoE like the ancient dragon lightning skill that at player version is already a boss-like AoE).
Shame that there is no cutscene for her if you use the pin to avoid going insane. I would've liked to see an ending with that, even if she's mad. Edit: typo
Ranni is the official waifu in this game. She has way more dialoagues and cutscenes than Melina, a whole questline, and ending dedicated to her and she personally wears the ring offered by the player character. Melina I don't know just exists so that you can level up and get the horse maybe. And she leaves the game permenantly if you don't get the frenzied flame (and infuriates her so much she leaves you forever).
It's really interesting that she gets her body back in this ending. Kind of like she was Queen Marika's contingency plan in case of this specific outcome. Also it's somewhat frightening that she seems confident in her ability to combat the entity that just killed a god and burned the Erdtree to ash.
Idk why but I think she blinded her right eye so the frenzy couldn’t effect her, and I think her left eye has a frenzy marking on it so it is possible the mark is wards off frenzy.
I think that represents she is the gloom eyed queen, who controls the destined death before marika sealed them away, then somehow she is defeated and became another form of existence- melina who lost her memories, burned and bodyless. She lived as melina for a while, if you become the lord of frenzied flame, and freed death, she takes back her power as an Empyreans chosen by fingers, and destined death can kill anything in elden ring, that's why she said she is going to deliver you destined death.
i dont know how they would implement it, but id be very curious to see how she'd be as a boss fight if you went with the frenzied flame ending. I'm sure she'd act like how she does when you summon her against Morgott, but I wonder if they'd add any new attacks to spice up her fight
There's a video on UA-cam showing that she actually has a full boss set of moves including the attacks she uses in the Morgott. Most likely she was originally meant to be a boss after you accepted the Frenzied Flame (or to prevent you from taking it) until they scratched it. Highly likely it'll show up in a dlc
They would probably scale her model up to be larger and more ‘imposing’ and it could be justified as her embracing her true form or self post frenzied flame ending. Most main bosses have to be large in some sense.
I like how in Dark Souls 3, the Fire Keeper would remain loyal to you, even if you decided to let the flame die, yet in Elden Ring Melina threatens to kill you if you decide to go for any of the bad endings lmao
@@duaIism I don't think thats relevant considering what DS canon endings are (linking the fire in ds1 is pretty much canon considering ds3) i don't think thats relevant in the slightest
I think Stars and Flame are equal in priority, in which one is a true good ending and the other is the true bad ending. This cutscene is probably for people who want to see the bad ending but also feel better about it because they know Melina is about to kill them (me)
I feel like we should have gotten a Melina interaction if we used the needle to cleanse the flame after we used the flame to spare her at the forge. If you talk to shabiri before inheriting the flames and then talk to Melina at a campsite after she kind of talks up how her sacrifice is her choice and it's hers to make so I doubt she would be exactly pleased with us but still some acknowledgement that we saved her life would be nice.
I like to think Melina seeks out Ranni and whoever else isn't dead yet in this playthrough and is all like "I'm putting together a a team. Almost like some kind of Suicide Squad."
Like i get this is supposed to be a cool threatening moment , but fr by this point the tarnished has killed literally every god and demi god. Melina couldnt get to the Erdtree on her own. Feels like kind of a hollow threat
Here after the expansion annoucement and seeing the image of Miquella riding Torrent. In this ending the only thing that endured the frenzied flame is the ring/whistle used for Torrent. That's because it's made of Miquella's gold, the only thing capable of repelling it
It is not. After frenzy there would be nothing. What right does the frenzy god has over the lives of everyone. Making a choice for every living being to kill them, and life to dissapear. Dissapear yourself and leave everyone alone if you hate life.
@@alanmark8452 Actually, you hear Torrent crying for mercy in the Frenzied ending... Even further proved in DLC because he doesn't want to die (cuz the frenzied flames kills immortal spirits).

Ranni's ending is still the best imo. Plus it also works out quite well for Melina if the theory of the gloam eyed queen is true. What better ending is there?
@@AB-jt4rs i would say the death ending is good too since it gets rid of rebirth and the immortals can truly die, especially those afflicted by scarlet rot that are just suffering. The tree feeds off death and misery basically so making those who keep coming back and making it stronger just rest in peace isn't a bad option. It also makes it so all the outer gods that might try and take power eventually have to watch out since death can get them too.
@@j.a.r.5974 but the problem is that not everything died. Including Melina. If Melina didn't die, imagine how many other malevolent gods survived too. Melina is so composed in this scene. If I were in her shoes, I'd be physically trembling with fury.
She seems determined
She’s gonna swoon another Tarnished to slap the Rune of Death onto your back faster than a black knife assassin on the Night of Black Knives
It's called tranquil fury she's pissed obviously but instead of giving into a blind hot fury she using her anger to strengthen her resolve into a cold hard edge of revenge.
Well, she already knows that it's 100% sure that she is going to kill you. It's called "Destined" for a reason.

I don't think I want to fight Melina after seeing her beat the shit out of Morgott
As much as I want a DLC that continues this ending, I'm sure it's going to be an open ending just like the Shura ending on Sekiro.
So I'm pretty convinced she's the spirit of the gloam-eyed queen. Possible Spoilers ahead:
She has dialog saying she wants to know why she's "burned and bodiless".
@@jinji_xo In the files, she's literally called MarikaDaughter...
@@TheStraightestWhitest 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Melina has the exact weapon of a black knife assassin except without the mark of death effect
Then she proceeds to walk into fire and die. After seeing her fight as a summon, I wouldn't worry too much about the Tarnished.
More like after realizing her being Messmer’s sister and most likely has something like his Based Serpent, I more worried about the Tarnished.
Especially when she seems to be able to wield Destined Death here
“Come at me, bro.”
-Protagonist.
Honestly I wouldn’t think there’s anything wrong with this ending if the steed whistle wasn’t burned
Yeah they really had to twist the knife by saying and you killed best boy torrent. Which sucks because she says he chose you at the beginning. In a sense he's your first supporter. Boy gets done dirty.
I like letting melina set herself on fire, only to immediately go see the 3 fingers
-To deliver you what is yours... destined death
-Tell that to the 10x health better version of me.
Destined Death and Black Flame do percentage health damage so it would quite literally not make any difference.
@@nifty6970 ...The joke was you become a boss with much better stats than you had as a player.

''THE DEPTHS OF YOUR FOOLISHNESS!''
I love how this is basically a sequel teaser for a game starring Melina.
Her glowing blue left eye makes her identity quite clear.
She's Sans, guys.
Sounds like she wants to throw down, I'll throw down, Rannis my maiden
It's really interesting that she gets her body back in this ending. Kind of like she was Queen Marika's contingency plan in case of this specific outcome.
Also it's somewhat frightening that she seems confident in her ability to combat the entity that just killed a god and burned the Erdtree to ash.
I watched her fight Morgot I'm not scared
She held back
Idk why but I think she blinded her right eye so the frenzy couldn’t effect her, and I think her left eye has a frenzy marking on it so it is possible the mark is wards off frenzy.

@@CrylyteAlso, her moveset is pretty much identical to that of the black knife assassins. I thought that was an interesting detail
They would probably scale her model up to be larger and more ‘imposing’ and it could be justified as her embracing her true form or self post frenzied flame ending. Most main bosses have to be large in some sense.
