everything is great but the saddest part for some students is that for society, IIT Jammu, plakkad is better than NIT Warangal or Trichy just because its IIT. They all neglect the fact that such NITs are Older then their age and were inaugurated by people like Jawaharlal Nehru. Many students are there who do great in mains but could do good in JEE Advanced and hence, despite of choosing lower branch in lower IIT, they usually go for top NITs. I think this point has to be addressed.
Also, one reason for this problem is that NITs provide 50% reservation for home state students. This I feel degrades the level of the institution.

IIT NIT tag remains forever..but branch also equally important as entire life you have to live with it starting from college
I will disagree. If you don't like the branch you will feel like shit for next 4 years of engineering. you also have to maintain atleast 7-8 CGPA to even be eligible for placements in good companies. Everything is not measured in money.

@@Suj765it's your misconception if you think gen students or students who secured more in jee will defeat the ones who scored less in jee because jee is not a complete factor to measure anyone's capability...and once any 2 students enter the same college they become same ..then the thing which matters is how much hardwork they put on from that time ..Even girls are from reserved categories but they get good placements

Ye tag wag phaltu ka cheez hai. Tu bhaley hi IIT Bombay/Madras mei chala jaa lekin agar padhai nahi karega college jaake toh 4 saal baad berozgar rahega, fir koi nahi dekhega ki tu Tier 1 ka berozgar hai ya Tier 69 ka, logo ke liye tu berozgar hi rahega. Take Nishant Jindal as an example.

@@nidhigupta7930 just as an undergraduate program, you may not get good jobs, but doing masters in this is a really good idea. you can go into aerospace, semiconductor, data science field, nanotech, photonic field, optics,computing, microelectronics and much more. even though ug course teaches these, doing a mtech is better

Ask ur son what he wants to study . This tag thing only matters to the neighbours and relatives. Big companies only look for skills and if he is skilled enough he will secure the best job in any stream

Bro 165 days is more than enough.....I literally cracked mains in just two months.... started 11th syllabus from scratch kyunki jab Mai 11th me tha tab ek v chapter nhi kiye the(COVID batch).... oneshot se syllabus complete kara and focused more on question solving and approach of each type of questions which were asked in PYQ's....aur class 12th ke phy,chem ko boards level maine kar rakha tha pehle jab 12th me tha toh only revision and JEE level questions practice kare maine..BTW I passed out in 2023 and took drop ..but in drop year I only used to sleep and scroll instagram and didn't used to study even a bit...sach bol Raha hu ek v padhai ni ki Maine drop year me..suru ke 10-15 din kiye bas fir social media scroll krte December 2023 aa gya ...I used to feel guilty everyday and was jinda depressed ..I even attempted to suicide on 23rd November 2023 the day before my Birthday which is on 24th of November ..waise plan birthday ke din ka he tha mera.....then fir aise he 2023 khtm hua then I promised myself ki January se padhai krenge for CUET kyunki it seemed impossible to go for JEE cuz it was too late....then aise he dhere² I started preparing for CUET...but somehow I knew I have potential to do impossible things and slowly I was getting into track and flow of study ..then oneday in mid January I said fuckkkkkk CUET let's crack JEE motherfucker lesss goo.... literally I studied for like 10 days and gave January attempt...it went average...then I was left with two months for April attempt...bro I know what I did in those 2 months....I only used to sleep 6 hours and study the whole time ...I mean literally I only left study table to eat food or for washroom or else I used to study all the time...and guess what Today is 20th June and in first round of JOSSA I am allotted ECE branch at NIT Silchar....and am sure till round 6 I will get more better branch and college....
So at the end I will only say depression stress l**d lassan sabki maa ki chut ...kitaab kholo copy kholo questions banao sab sahi ho jayega...

BITS Pilani is better than IIT and NIT as there is no reservation....if a general category student gets 3000 rank still he fails to get desired branch in IIT.... but SC/ST and other category get desired branchs even if they have 15000 rank

A genuine query. I'm most probably getting electrical branch at NIT Trichy and CSE in other top NITs as I had got 99.4%ile in JEE mains. But could not clear jee adv by one marks. However I desparately wanted to go to IIT. So SHOULD I TAKE A DROP ?

2) IIT Kanpur / KGP BS ECO (not confident about it but have been suggested by iitians from dhanbad and ropar from mnc .)
3) IIT Dhanbad/Ropar/Mandi mnc/ece (they preferred opt 2 )
4) Trichy / warangal/surathkal(afraid bcs all are in south and m from Delhi )CSE

IIT B - environmental
IIT M - ocean eng
IIT roorkee or kgp - metallurgy and other below branches
IIT guwahati - chemical
IIT mandi - microelectronics and vlsi.
I'm so confused in the following options sir so please help me choose one. I feel my physics is not strong especially fluid dynamics part. I don't have any particular Intrest in a branch. Also I am from Chennai and if I choose any college in north India will there be any language problems? Please guide me in this sir.

looking at the branches which you are getting i think my and your rank is almost in same range i too have these choices
coming to your doubt i think in north india most of the students speak hindi english is rarely spoken so ya language barrier is there but i don't think language barrier will be there at iit bombay delhi and kanpur because they are top 3 iits so any student who is getting admission in these iits will go there blindly so in this iit there will be mix public from north south west east so you will feel comfortable
so i think you should take delhi bombay or kanpur if language is your barrier😊

If S do u have any ideas about the course or where did u find info (like curriculum,placements etc) abt it as finding info abt this branch seems difficult as it is a newer branch compared to others 😅. That's the depressing part of Indian education system too much focusing on just izzat of iit tag there are many iitians and nitians who are unemployed (air 247 so called entrepreneur)just because they took the branch not of their interest and just surviving with it, teaching what has been taught for years rather than what is necessary, (just speak to someone who have btech from good college in india and ms from foreign university, they will tell you huge gap. And the iitians we listen building successful career are just a handful from thousands.
Truly Indian education system needs a major reform.We listen about many Iitians success stories but don't see the immense hardwork they put and also many non iitians reaching that level just because of hard hours.
