I just discovered this great song hearing it played on the MTV Classic channel in June 2023, although it reminds me of music I’ve heard at goth/industrial clubs over the years 🎶 🎵
NE is the best Depeche Mode opening act ever! They rocked the house and nearly stole the show from the DM guys! Love NE to this very day! Join In the Chant!
1990, I bet that was a great show! There were a lot of great tours that year, in retrospect. I was only 16 at the time, but I've caught nearly every DM tour since then ... 5 in total, and they've probably toured 6-7 times since '90. Violator Tour, I bet was great though, especially with Nitzer Ebb opening.
I remember having a bad acid trip in the very early 90's. I went for a walk in a light drizzle of rain listening to Showtime on my walkman. This song instantly put a smile on my face and dissolved my shitty trip. Those cheesy horn synth patches are hilarious.

Saw them open for Depeche Mode, on the World Violation tour, in July of 1990, in Dallas. It was a great show. It was HOT (98°F) everywhere- hotter in that hole, I'm sure. Nitzer Ebb were dressed in black, and they spent themselves, dancing around like madmen, while screaming and beating out a good show. It was nice. Too bad there's no video from back then... now everyone has a camera, but they don't believe what used to happen before anyone had one. "Can I film this?" Leave your camera outside.

This track is what made me start liking electronic music especially techno, take away the lyrics and this is a straight techno track from early 90s that you'd hear Richie hawtin or someone spin at a warehouse party...that and this song found me one of the first times I ever smoked pot and I said Damn wtf is this madness!
