    You are so calm with him and he feels that. Animals can like sense how we feel..You were just so calm, even talking and he was completely fine. You have a gift and I know I have commented alot but I love your darn videos lol. You have the most gorgeous spiders, I stumbled upon your videos and now I can't stop watching them. Thank you so much! I very glad! I didn't know exactly what the public would think of a seemingly average woman who had this freaky closet reptile/tarantula obsession! Some people love it and some hate but more people than I ever figured do watch me! ;)

      Deadly Tarantula Girl We all love and admire you. I'm a woman with a love of arachnids too. It's great that more and more ladies are venturing into the hobby. I adore my 7 cute Tarantulas and my scorpion so much. 🕷🦂 Big thumbs up to you. I plan on getting a flower mantis, a Japanese rhinoceros beetle,a jumping spider, more millipedes (my millipede 'Ruffles' passed away) 😔 and a Nephila orb weaver....and an ogre faced spider. 😁 wish me luck. 😘

    I was stung five times on my lower leg by a centipede (it crawled up my pant leg) I remember just feeling a strange feeling and then this thing dropped out of my pants. Scared me, but I thought oh well, then 2 days later I couldn't put pressure on my leg and the pain was excruciating. The five bites had grown in size to 3 in diameter each. The doctor couldn't believe the bites, I was given medicine and was fine in a week, but geese these things can sting.

    It wasn't as scary as it looked. This pede had gotten on me trying to escape several times when maintaining it and had never tried to bite, so I was pretty sure that it wouldn't bite this time. But you can never be 100% on animal behavior. Thanks for watching:)

    Awesome awesome video. What I like about your channel is the diversity. I like seeing a bit of everything. I'm a tarantula and mantid guy but I also have other animals because really its nature that I like. You are so bad ass BTW for handling that thing. I've never seen anyone that bad ass enough to do that before. Mantids are amazing animals to raise and observe. Maybe a mantis bid in your future?

    You're definitely a brave and beautiful woman. I ain't going nowhere near a centipede that damned big. The house centipedes totally freak the hell out of me. • @debsworld3784
      @debsworld3784 7 років тому +2

      Montana White It's called deeper phobia, you might feel that you arent afraid of scorpions /spiders but trust me if you come to face to face with one of them you will get goosebumps which is fine and needed as well, so basically you fear them as much as needed and whichbjs normal but as far as centipedes are concerned ur afraid of them more than what is needed, that's the difference..

    • @montanawhite5699

It's bigger than all of my t's and scorpions how many crickets should I feed it in one serving?? and how often??

    One time years ago in California (possibly 2005), I had my t-shirt laying over my chair against the wall in my bedroom. I picked up my t-shirt to put it on, and I saw a giant tiger centipede in the shirt (around 5"-6" long or more). I never dropped something so fast. I'm so thankful that I saw it before putting the shirt on. And moments ago, I saw one sitting on my pillow case (only minutes after getting up to put a pizza in the oven). Much smaller than the California one, but I was freaked out. Once again, I was lucky to not get stung. I personally hate these things.

    sand and coco fiber? I've never heard that one before. I just made a setup with potting soil, coco fiber, and spagnum moss. It's a bio active setup. I seeded it with isopods, springtails, and redworms. I haven't moved my pede into it yet, but should I not?

    would love to see a vid on Scolopendra Gigantea, if you have one, which would be a treat seeing as they are soo difficult to aquire.
    I recently purchased one from a guy in the states that had imported many of them before Peru closed it's borders, and for a large amount of money I was able to talk him into selling me one.
    It's a 9 inch female, and ultimately I would like to aquire a male for breeding, and allow alot of ppl to have one of these amazing bugs.
    In the meantime while I wait to receive the centipede I'm watching a lot of vids on them, and of course your my fav!

    out of the creatures you've shown not specifically but like in a group what are the most docile creatures, ones least likely to bite/sting/pinch: Scorpions, Tarantulas, or centipedes?

    • @MaritaDeLaPenaDTG
      @MaritaDeLaPenaDTG  7 років тому +5

      Interesting question. I would have to say depends on the species. T would be versicolor or B smithi, Scorpion would be Emporer and I would have to say you can't trust a centipede no matter what:)

    • @tedridout2541
      @tedridout2541 7 років тому +2

      Deadly Tarantula Girl
      I was going to assume that either the Versicolor would be best or the Emperor Scorpion as when I was younger a bug handler came to school and actually brought and Emperor with him she was very friendly, and centipedes would probably just end up biting you after a while

      Centipedes are amazing creatures. It is crazy how large they can get. Just keep learning about them and maybe you will not only get over your fear, you will find them fascinating:)

      @@MaritaDeLaPenaDTG That's why I'm watching videos like this. I'm a wildlife manager, and it's pathetic how fearful you can be of a creature with a profession like that.

      ...I love Scolependra's. I had one a few yrs ago, that my dear friend - now departed- suggested I should get one since I really like Aggressive species - and it lived up to it's name; at night it would crawl up to the top and, actually "naw" on the metal lid, (which you could lock it from the outside of course). but I love everything about them - the next one I get I will try keeping it how you keep yours - since they like to burrow so much... keep up the excellent work, DTG.

    Centipedes are venomous. They have one of the most painful bites that you could ever imagine.

    Well deadly tarantula girl that's one thing I've never kept. I do think that would be cool to try though. I would really hate to get bit by something that huge. I live in Maryland and we have those little 2 or 3 inch garden centipedes. One of them bit me and it stung and itched like hell. I would like I said hate to get tagged by a 12 inch specimen.
