We are in a strange limbo with our allotment - not knowing how much time (and compost 💰💰) to invest as we’ve no idea when or if we might manage to sell the house! We’ve found a place we love but trying not to feel too attached in case we miss out. Hey ho. What will be will be. In the meantime I’m starting to try out cheese making to keep me occupied 😂😂
First up, cheese!! That sounds amazing, I hope that works out for you. Ah thank you on the lovely feedback too 🥰 I know what you mean re not getting too attached, I am terrible for jumping in feet first and heart with me. Ste is the one who stays more grounded which helps. I have everything crossed you don’t miss out lovely! The compost question is a pain I know. Best of luck 🤞
My beetroot is in a new bed but it had apparently leaf miner in the soil 😢😢 so they are in some of the leaves already. It’s gone from 12c to 29c this week 🥵, but I’m hoping it helps keep slugs at bay. I would the bay will be fine the stems are dead or dying. Slugs ate more than half my tomatoes but luckily I have more I can put out. 😂😂 never fails when we want to film the hubby gets a power tool out. It’s all coming together and we have gone from no able to do anything because it was too wet and cold to 😱😱😱😱 it’s time to grow. Fantastic update lots getting done, hope Steven is tip top again and being careful. Have a super weekend everyone, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦
I’m so glad you have extra toms after the slugs ate them Ali. From cold and wet to hot hot hot for you, at least it’ll help in some ways! The leaf miner is a royal pain 😢 have a great day lovely 🥰
Looking great Tracy - everything is coming along well. We weren’t going to start any tomatoes til we move but watching this has made me think I can’t wait…😂 As for country wines…strawberry and/or bramble have been hits here. 😉 xx

I chuckled as you went through everything you have to do tomorrow and was thinking to myself well I hope you have more hours in your day than I have in mine because I’d never get that lot done! 😂 I am away for 2 weeks and my son is watering everything for me while I’m away but I know I’ll have a ton to do when I get home! It will then me ME saying I need to do this tomorrow I need to do that tomorrow lol
😂 😂 list is always longer than the daylight hours let alone my energy 😂 how lovely you have someone to water and you’re going to be out of mischief at least 😂
Home made rhubarb wine is my favourite. I’ve learned not to put too much sugar in at the fermentation stage but to add a sweet homemade strawberry cordial to it after “stopping” the fermentation. ie when the fermentation is practically finished and adding a Camden tablet and/or potassium sorbate. Your garden is looking superb! I’ve only just sown parsnips where our garlic was. First available space. And more carrots. Haven’t germinated yet but I’ve had parsnip harvests from sowing as late as mid July in the past. Again…. The veggie garden and greenhouse look fantastic. Especially the potatoes! Looking forward to the small holding video too. Have a great week 😀
So would that be after the air lock has been fitted and it’s finished bubbling? I never know if that’s first or second fermentation with bucket being first? I’m going to try a few ways I think, hoping to make a start tomorrow as working in the plot all day today hopefully. Thanks for that! Me too like a large red but since my gallbladder removed last fortnight I don’t feel like yet so like you I ordered some kombucha but was couple’s things missing so will start tomorrow as they arrive today 😊your tomatoes looks amazing 😊
I’ve never thought to take wine to the veg garden of an evening… this could be a new thing for me 😂 that’s if there’s a veg garden left the rabbits and rats getting in and eating everything 😭
Is it only me that think potato flowers are pretty 😊 You mentioned the rosemary - Is that the one that had some branches that had died off which you showed us in a previous vlog? I’ve got one that doesn’t look too healthy and am thinking of taking cuttings off it. Just wondering if it’s the same one what treatment did you give it? I had the same problem with my parsnips with only 1 germinating. I’ve re sown with fresh seeds now but like you think it was just too cold and wet. Looking forward to the next video as always 😊
Hi Tracy... had a look in 3 of my 4 garlic beds.... none of the garlic has split to form cloves and the rust is shocking 😢. Am going to leave it until the end of the month but am not optimistic.... any suggestions if i can use what bulb there is? As always thank you for the video x
Sorry to hear that Sean. It’s disheartening isn’t it? Can you get your winter brassicas sown now and use it for them? Or do you have any tomatoes you could put out there?

If it’s not the slugs, it’s rabbits! Wine will definitely help. Apart from my humans and animals, wine and garden are my 2 fave things 😂
