You need to listen to Long Black Train. 🎶 When I first heard this song, I immediately downloaded the album.
Yes! Long Black Train is fantastic!
When it first came out my PawPaw heard it & said "I like that black train song, that young boy can really sing"; so I had to get the cd.
Mr. Turner was given a huge compliment that day because my PawPaw didn't have a lot to say about entertainment in general, and especially the music of the day.

Josh Turner has this great baritone voice that goes right through you. He's a country singer whose faith has led him into Christian music, and we are all better off for it. I saw him sing this live not long ago and it took my breath away.

I love Josh Turner so much! The song Your Man was actually written by Chris Stapleton. "I Wouldn't Be A Man" is a sweet love song. "Why Don't We Just Dance" is good too

Yes, he is!! He loves to sing gospel music, too. He's very open about being a Christian, which is the kind of role model that our children and grandchildren need in today's world.

There's a great and long tradition of country singers singing Gospel music. There's really too many to properly mention, but, you can start with Hank Williams Sr. "I'll fly away" and "I Saw the Light". Ferlin Husky's "Wings of a Dove", Kris Kristofferson's "Why Me, Lord", Dolly Parton's "He's Alive" (which is a must on Easter!), "Uncloudy Day" (I like Willie Nelson's rendition), Red Foley went gold with "There'll Be Peace in the Valley for Me", on and on ....... Give them a listen!

Sebs, if you want to hear/react to a good old foot stomping, hands clapping gospel song, you should play the video of Jessy Dixon's Moses Take Your Shoes Off (You're on Holy Ground) live at the Tower of David/David's Cathedral, Jerusalem, Israel. Sadly, Jessy died back in Sept., 2011. But his voice will live on in his gospel music.

I enjoy Josh Turners Country songs and I know some people really enjoy this type of music. Maybe its just that subject matter but I found this song so painfully boring that I had to turn it off before the first chorus was finished.
