Technician tip: When the hood doesn't close, keep increasing the height you're dropping it off from until it does. Even if you were to slam it shut, hoods don't cause any damage as they're designed to close anyways and have bump stops to prevent it from closing too hard against the body. I could tell the height was too low for the hood to close on this case. This applies to any vehicle 👌🏽
I work for Land Rover, you'd be amazed how hard you gotta throw those sometimes.
Hence...When you slam things...the attrition factor is advanced far beyond the cars life. Even “bump stops”. Even Warranties on cars wear out. And many people drive them like they robbed a bank and break down engines before that “warranty” expires.
Moderate to light closing should be sufficient. Each make and model has their own specs and yet some over others fail quicker than others. That’s just the quality of the steel and materials used.

Overall the car is everything you can get for this price. I’m definitely going to get this car. The headlight design is a hit or miss but it will grow on me.
Not to nit pick but I wish it had a heads up display. One of our cars has it and I use it all the time. For those who don't have it will say it's not that big of a deal but once you get used to all the notifications, alerts, route updates all in your windshield it's hard not to have that. You never need to look at the screens for anything and can keep your eyes on the road. As nice as the screens are.
I'm personally waiting for the hybrid version simply because
1) the exclusive matte gray finish which looks amazing in person
2) rotator dial for gears. No gear shifter. I like the cleaner look with digital gear shifters
3) More horsepower and torque
4) fuel economy is slated to be 38mpg (prob 34mpg in the real world which is really good for a small SUV).
I agree about heads up. Chose the Mazda CX-5 instead of the Sportage (my other option), and love the heads up display. That wolf gray color on the Sportage is really nice. Wish they had a light interior color option, but it was only that orange-red or black. Great review, though.
My 2021 Mazda CX-5 GT w Premium Package has Heads-Up and it is great.

I'm here a little north of you in Broward; I just got this same SX Prestige about 2 weeks ago also in Wolf Grey but with the black interior. I fell in love with the car for some of the reasons you mentioned, like how futuristic it looks and the awesome new tech.

Oh man… last year, I had an issue with my 2019 Kia Optima. I opened the hood and it just would not close. I ended up taking it to the Kia dealer the next day and they fixed it. Anyway, this Sportage looks amazing! I’m still a sedan guy, but if I were in the market, the Sportage would be #1 on my list!

So this 2023 runs for about 41,000 plus tax,tile,tags,gap,extra warranty??? About 45,000 right I'm in love with it!!!!
@5:25, the 360 camera works very nice. Gives a very good view when backing. When going under 7 MPH, you can push the button on Center pedestal and get the 360 camera to come on
$7,000 in Accessories? Over $42,000? Why would anybody in their right mind buy this underpowered CUV when a Telluride EX or a Sorento SX with 2.5 turbo is the same price. I priced the same vehicle and couldn’t get it over $39,300. If the dealer is placing a $3,000 markup on MSRP good luck to them. No way would I pay over MSRP for a Kia Sportage or any Kia for that matter and I’ve owned 3 of them. Regardless, very good review.
I wish this were true because it would make getting a kia much easier. 😒But everyone that buys a kia is paying $2-$10k over.
Here in California the markup is 5K over msrp so wherever you are, consider yourself lucky.

I have this in black on black , my only wish is that there was folding mirrors and ambient lighting like we have on our stinger, also the red on this seems much more orange than the red leather I have on my stinger as well. Great video

id probably lease it. but pound for pound it has all the features id want on that trim level (venti seats, heated seats/steering wheel, power liftgate) and under 40k with awd, nice color choices. currently lookin at the Cx-5 as well. great video
The front could pass for a Aztek with leds
Mazda is nice quality, but plain AF! Nobody will notice you on the road in a CX-5, while the Sportage turns heads with its up to date design. Plus, it’s much roomier. People always complain about a lack of room in the backseat of the CX-5. Definitely go for the Sportage if it’s not too late. Haha

The way Kia does start stop made this old man stop complaining about it. I got to where I actually liked when it would shut off. I was impressed with how long the climate would stay cool when it stopped.

Steel gray is more metallic, the wolf gray is like a flat gray… not metallic or matte if that makes sense.

It is a lease model so in 2023 am going to swap out. 2020 SX turbo mode great especially in sport mode it really moves compare the base Kia Sportage 2020 and against other small SUVs. It sounds you are saying that Kia Sportage SX-Prestige really doesn't move like the 2020 SX turbo which is sad to hear.

The SX Prestige definitely has Wolf Gray, make sure you aren't selecting the Hybrid version as the Hybrid doesn't have Wolf Gray I believe.

Yes, and if you are going to speed that you have set in the settings, then it will automatically increase or decrease to the speed limit. If you are not going the speed set in the settings, a single push of the Incr Speed or Decr speed button, will set you to the speed limit. The system woks really nice..

BEWARE of system failure in Kia in few weeks/months time. Lacks quality and service. I have personally experienced this. Does any one know if we had these kind of problems on Toyota or Honda? I should have opted for Toyota or Honda. But instead went with fancy “Kia Sportage 2023” and it’s not working now. I don’t know if it’s a quality issue or the way the dealership is taking care of new vehicles. But this is a serious issue for 40k worth car

I like that he speaks quickly. He speaks clearly and covers a lot of good info without adding a lot of unnecessary chatter. Some other reviewers out there speak way too slowly and add a lot of unnecessary chit chat. So they are boring. I really like this guy's pace much better!
