Ephesians‬ ‭6:10‭-‬18‬ ‭Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.😊😊😊😊😊

This one goes out to that man who survived two nukes both in the kill zone.
Edit: I now know they weren't 1 megaton, and can't seem to find any math illustrations depicting the devastation those 2 bombs did.
However the story's I've read Indicates he walked away from the actively growing mushroom crowd/pillar of fire, which implies he was even further away when he crossed the water littered with human corpses.
And his boss was hit severely right next to him as he was being called a Liar over the the fact that a single bomb did all that.

The desks thing is somewhat effective against the effects of the flash and blast some miles away. Of course, the only way to survive much closer would have been hardened concrete structures, and a handful of survivors survived as close as 300 meters to the hypocenter (point below detonation) because they were under such structures.
Observers noted that many of the injuries came from a combination of the bright flash as well as the shockwave breaking windows and sending shards of glass into people. Many of those injured were looking through said windows to see what was going on, as Hiroshima and Nagasaki had yet to receive bombing raids and a small number of planes would normally be no cause for concern.
Thus, sitting under a desk would shield you from both the nuclear flash and flying glass from the shockwave.

What happens during detonation of a nuke is so incredible. Spent a few days studying it in nuclear physics class. Initially the ball of plasma becomes so dense and hot that it actually turns opaque to the light inside it. Only the outer surface is emitting light. The soup of subatomic particles isnjust too thick. This also happens during a supernova and happened at the instant of the big bang. Then as it expands it cools enough for the particles to recombine, it thins out and suddenly that blast of photons escapes and cooks everything. There is some really cool declassified footage of tests out to the side of the blast that show the mach stem racing along the ground. During testing it was found that airbursts did so much mkre damage because of this phenomenon. You get a lateral blast immediately followed by a partially vertical one, and then seconds later, a huge reverse. The physics of it all is incredible.

In addition, radiation damage occurs, and even those who did not burn die directly from the radiation. Even if they escape, they will be exposed to radiation from the “black rain”,which can lead to death or suffering for decades.

Only really in ground impact where the dust is thrown upwards. For conventional airburst nukes the radiation would be survivable within 2-3 weeks for short periods and within a year it'd be apparent but not overwhelming

The civilian population of Japan was already starving, they knew they were losing. They were intent on one of two things: Dying to the last man, woman, and child for the Emperor or Victory. The two Atomic Bombs not only saved their nation but preserved their culture! Yes, after attacking us and already reducing Korea to a slave state and Manchuria and North Eastern China, we took it upon ourselves to save them from themselves... Why I don't feel sorry for them for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I feel sorry for us. This is what we had to do to stop their war of conquest and atrocities. The comfort women from Korea, China and the Philippines do thank us.
