I paused the vid and stared at it for a while! Then, after wiping up all the drool, I wrote this comment! Apperantly you found more! so I'm going to watch the rest now!!

I don't know names and time periods for all these points, but I do know they are fascinating and beautiful! To think you are holding something in your hand that another person made 100's to 1,000's of years is surreal. Great video!

@@PtownRockhound, excluding trade material that came into my areas here in northwest Mississippi, the greatest portion of my finds are made from fire treated chert and quartzite.

Some real smokers in this hunt! Heck, I think I'd get that tiny basal corner restored on the big Dalton - there's hardly anything gone and it would look amazing!
I personally don't like restoration on points. Just seems like the idea is to push it off as whole. If it's already broke, anyone that's been around artifacts long enough can easily imagine what it would have looked like. Can't tell you how.many times I would be at a show and be all intrigued at the quality of some points. Then ask the owner and find out it's been restored. Just bums me out. No offense to those who do it. Just a personal preference.

Killer finds brother. My best spot is a mess gravel bars covered in mud and sand plus I am kinda under the weather myself from TICK bites. Ticks are ruthless this year I don't know what the deal is but the bites are really bad. I had 2 swell up to the size of a baseball. I been bitten by thousands of ticks before NEVER like this year's ticks. I have been using 40 % deet every where on me and clothes plus other high end repellents. Dr. got me on 2 antibiotics told me to take a break from the woods. Be careful out there. Thanks for sharing.
I'm actually recovering from a tick bite myself. Got me right up above the crack! Lol And you're right, these ticks are ruthless. Hope you heal up fast. I was fortunate. Weather here has been on a 2 week dry spell with no signs of relief. But I should have enough content to make another video. Plus I did do a clean up video for the CACHE. Take care
When it comes to Daltons Beaver lakes Clovis or any other Paleo period points I don't care about a little ding in the point, naturally I would prefer them whole but they are just so old and rare that I keep every one of them and they go in the case, i don't do that with the other ones that I find but there is just something special about the Paleo period and it's people that just amazes me more than anything else
Once again thank you for the feeling if you've never seen one you should check out the yumas and edans from the Colorado plains the andersons yuma would be your google key but the edans are really spectacular not only the flaking but the odd thing is how the basal ridge on the edans dont line up giving them a diamond profile the length and design obviously adapted to a specific animal other than buffalo whether it was camels or antelope or the ancient elk who knows but after you see one the obvious differences from the primarily buffalo hunting points from Colorado like the folsom. And scottsbluffs and other variations is quite noticable and rather stunning !

It always makes me wonder why all the oldest points are always so much nicer made? Like the later generations gave up, or somehow forgot. Only until the Mississippian period did they start to makes points again that were aesthetically pleasing, and not just utilitarian. Almost like they were two entirely different people. Which is odd, because they surely also found the points their ancestors made laying around, and none of them even tried to reproduce the craftsmanship.

You know, I believe that the ancient people of America chose their material for their arrowheads as.much for their beauty as they did for functional purposes. Even where I live in North Carolina, there is not very much in color to choose from but the Clovis people chose some of the best material that I have ever seen and some of it is still not known where it came from. I have found and seen Clovis points in a wide variety of colors and they are made from material just not seen in other types of points. What you are finding out there are some very beautiful material points that I think were chosen for their color as much as for function. What is your opinion on this subject ?

Found a fluted clovis last week with similar damage. It always hurts my soul a little when theyre broken.
