I've always loved the Intergalactic Wrestling episodes. I thought they were a blast, and I really dug the Turtles' costumes. This was a fun video (I loved the little joke with the panda with a steel chair).
Raph's black suit is awesome! All the intergalactic turtles look pretty good! I hope a movie or animated series bring these again, vs Crying Hound, Leatherhead and Ace Duck as wrestlers
There was kind of a trade edition comic that contained issues #6-8 (Intro of Leatherhead and Cherbue/Mary Bones, first Stump Wrestling story and first appearance of Wingnut & Screwloose) and came with an audio cassette that was kind of a reading or audio play of the story.
@@InterdimensionalCowlick I don't think it's quite the same as what I'm thinking of. This was your typical kids' story book, with pictures taking up most of the page while dialogue and actions were detailed like a normal novel.
@@mikevltg3 Don't know it, and don't think it exists (maybe a bootleg?) but the animated show licensing (and books) and the archie comics would be a totally different licence again, they didn't typically use Archie Adventures specific art on products. Unless it was something from a sketch by a Mirage artist that predated the archie books.
In the United States? I know these suits appeared in the TMHT comics in the UK as well, and they were also used in the many publishers around the world with the license to publish the Archie adventures. But I am not sure if there was ever a storybook version. I know Tundra collected recolored versions of the adventures that may have looked like storybooks, but not quite what you described.
Some of the few comics I got my hands on back in the day included the start of the inevitable tournament arc. I even had a special version of the comic with an accompanying dramatic audio cassette. So all these decades later, I still know Cryin' Houn's name. His first name, his last name, and the order they go together.
Thanks for more info about Cryin' Houn. Ryan Brown saying his own name is a hilarious origin. I thought the TMNT 2003 Battle Nexus was another version of the Intergalactic Wrestling.
I remember that arc so fondly, and the aliens that reminded my 9 year old brain so much of the Xenomorphs. I also loved Cuddly the Cowlick, and Raph going to S. America shortly afterwards.
@@InterdimensionalCowlick same! But actually, all versions are nice. The og comics lab rat, the toon swamp hunter, the scientist. Jess Harley was just a victim of fate, according to Cherubae
@@BenDaresAll I enjoy all those versions too but Jess Harley was such a warm, take it as it comes character. I loved it when he called Screwloose "Little 'Skeeter."
I commented on Laird's recollections of the future stories in the "last days of the TMNT" video. I cannot remember at the time if he commented on it or not.
neat. I heard from some people online that a Target computer leak suggests they might be releasing Archie Leatherhead and Archie Ace Duck in their wrestling gear.
I heard the wrestling turtles were coming out soon (a leak). But I don't remember seeing prototypes for Leatherhead and Ace Duck, so those would be a surprise.
I can't wait for these to be in toy/collectible form. Personally, I wish NECA just made Raphael's black suit all-black instead of painting blue highlights on the figure. Oh well, can't wait for them.
Are you going to do a video on the IDW Krang, Battle Nexus from the 2003 series, the 2012 crossover with Universal monsters and most of all Darius Dunn both versions
I always hated these designs. I could never remember Raph was the one in all black, and I always thought Donnie was Raph. Mikey and Leo aren't as bad, but I still don't care for their new looks. These just look so bad in my honest opinion.
Thanks for watching!
Which one's your favorite costume?
Some of the panels shown unlocked some childhood memories for me.
I remember that floating cow head🤣🤣
Flying cow head and all-black Raph are deep in my memories and was trying to find it for ages!
I remember Raph kept his suit for a little while even after they got home.

I looked, and you can get that as a sticker or a shirt. I think I want to put one on my car, even though I'm not into wrestling.
@@suicidesamuraiz Ha, it might send a confusing message about your interest in wrestling, but it would be fun and funny on its own merits. :)
Instant flashbacks to my childhood with these costumes. Always thought Raph's black suit was so damn cool.

Does anyone else remember storybooks based on this arc, or was that something my brain imagined up for obe reason or another?

It may be a happy accident. The Battle Nexus format looks oddly similar to a certain Manga format, and 4Kids was doing Anime.

I forgot to ask about the Punk Frogs! You haven’t done a single video about them yet.
I almost worked on Punk Frogs videos, but things happened (like them showing up on the comics). But they are on my list (separate versions).
I'm surprised this storyline was never adapted into any of the animated series.

I have the small book with the first story where the screenshot at 2:43 was taken from. It's a nice little story :)
Intergalactic Wrestling Federation sounds like a missing TMNT clone in the era of street sharks and Biker mice from Mars.
Thanks for the video

You can find issue numbers on the bottom of the screen. In this case, it's number 7. It's one of the first few pages.
