I was fascinated by Krang when I was a little kid. He was my favorite character form the show. I have a Krang hoodie, and everyone always thinks it's Meatwad. Still, I love it.
Never heard of Meatwad. But Krang is one of my top favorite characters in the world and I love that the Fall of the Foot Clan game has him as the final boss. This feels much more fitting to me than Shredder being the final boss in all other games since Krang was always the mastermind from another world with tons of technological power. The Shredder is super cool and one of top favorite characters of all times as well but for me it was always Krang > Shredder. Great video above I will watch it again certainly.
My idea based on the retcon in 2012 was that krang was a cousin to kraang sub-prime who, following his banishment, decided to conquer the cartoon universe for his own and to prove his worth, he gave berserko the designs for the technodrome and his reptilian form was a result of a test with the mutagen
I haven't seen all of 2012, but I like the idea of Krang being like Ch'rell personally. I really like the 2003 take on the Utroms as generally more neutral or good I always found that more interesting but I like Shredder/Krang dynamic. All of them being "evil" I think takes away from Krang the character being a unique being for me.
I prefer Krang OG origin - there is something interesting about concept of a powerful warlord stripped from his body and reduced to a pure brain, who has interchangeable bodies at his service.

Wow I didn’t know about that old black and white movie that he was based because we thought he was influenced by the Utroms, so it’s just like the original Thundercats cartoon where the mutants were in the first episode and while Mumm-Ra appears in the second episode. So as the Armageddon game is finished I guess we can talk about the IDW Rat king as well as the 1987 version, remember that theory that I suggested?
I'll talk about the cartoon Rat King, and I will need to update the Mirage Rat King as well. So far, your theory is not proving possible, especially with how the 87 universe is being extended. So if you have a fact that you can provide, then I'll be happy to investigate it.
@@TheTurtleNexus well the theory is that the man who would become the Rat king was maybe a flute player in college until the draft came which ether he tried to avoid it or maybe went willingly to the army which maybe is where he learned to fight very well on his own against 4 ninjas and is able to use fire arms pretty well, he is also able to drive a truck which is very hard to drive and you need a different class license, so during his time in Vietnam he had ptsd which made him think he was a rat which could explain the tape around his face from an explosion and when he came home like all the veterans people spat at them and calling baby murders and rapists which maybe the man’s family disowned because of that and that’s why he starts living in the sewers and doesn’t remember who he was and starts calling himself the Rat king and also since his hair is Orange while in the original comics his hair was black could be a symbolism of Agent Orange as a call back to the Vietnam war.
Krang in the Archie comics was portrayed as a lot more ruthless than his animated counterpart, even going as far as to wipe out a "rather heavily populated sector of Dimension X" while talking to Shredder!! In the 2012 series, Kraang Prime referred to Krang as a screw-up which is why Krang was stripped of his body and exiled to Earth in the first place.
The retcon of Krang being cousin to Subprime and exiled by him on Earth while removing his android body (not a reptilian one like in the original series) is probably valid only for the Krang that we see in the 2012 series...which is probably just an alternate version of the 1987 one and not the same one. Because in the 1987 series, Krang calls himself "supreme leader of Dimension X", and "supreme" means he was the only ruler of the whole Dimension X and there was no room for other rulers like Kraang Prime and Subprime. Also even as a brain, he's actually physically different from Subprime, so he can't be of the same race of a Kraang. Subprime probably said "cousin" not in the sense of family, but in the sense of a different race with some similarities, sort of like us humans in real life can call a monkey our "cousin", even if the monkey is a completely different race actually despite our similarities.
Turtle Theory: To Rectify and Remedy the Continuity of Krang being from the TMNT 2012 Verse: Maybe Krang was not from TMNT 2012 Verse at all. Krang Subprime mistaken Krang as his own Cousin from his own verse as they Both Resembled from each others verses. The Krang from 2012 TMNT Verse formed the Kraang based on his name before Kraang Prime Succeeded him and Escaped into the TMNT 1987 Verse and was lost in Dimension X of TMNT 1987 verse and '87 verse Krang Strongly Resembled Subprime's Cousin and took his Place as his Cousin to Invade with him without knowing who he was based on his other verses's History with Subprime.
I just went with the idea that they were dimensional “cousins” Traveling dimensions isn’t new for either version. Maybe they met up, formed a cousin like bond but then that bond broke apart when 87 Krang kept fuckin up I like to think that Krang got banished twice. The first time he was kicked out of his own dimension X then he was kicked out of a different dimension X
2:30, that idea wouldn't be a reality till 2k3 where we have the best Shredder imo. The intelligence of Krang and the strength of the Shredder. It's like the quote from Galvatron from Five Faces of Darkness Part 4 where he stated 'With your intellect and the strength of my Decepticons'. Though that does give me an idea for Megatron. The pros of that Shredder basically removed the fatal flaws of '87 Shredder and Krang though a lot of people would prefer the 2 to be bickering as a character plot. 5:00, tbh Krang shoulda ditched everyone in the first place considering how much of a thinking powerhouse he is.
I was very impressed with krang just wish super rocksteady and might Bebop was in the show a while longer if I was krang I would rebuild those 2 I still enjoy watching the show when I was a kid.
Different how? He was based on the 1987 Krang with elements of IDW General Krang. He had the Technodrome. That was Krang my guy. You covered all other versions (including the alien species the Kraang) but the one specifically based on 1987 Krang.
Krang's been treated so disrespectful by the 2012 series. When he first appeared in the classic -87, he was a formidable adversary to love. After that, the screen writer's have just botched it more and more.
Here's how I think the timeline works for the 1987 series Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 Turtles Forever (Which probably takes place during the seasonal rot of 4-6 due to how less serious the turtles were) Season 7 Saturday Morning Adventures Seasons 8, 9, and 10 Shredders Revenge (Which establishes Krang reassembling his body after it's destruction in the season 10 Finale) The 2012 Crossovers (Which end with Bebop and Rocksteady giving up their criminal ways) As for Krang's origin tying in with the 2012 series, I have a theory that compromises both series. Krang was a rare mutant variant of the Utrom/Kraang that gained a physical lizard like body from the mutagen. Those people of his in the bubble walkers? They were the other members Kraang species who were working for Krang at the time. In spite of Kraang-Sub Prime labeling his cousin as an "idiot" (Read: INSANE), Krang was effective at taking over so many planets and territory in the Dimension X galaxy (including the Neutrino kingdom), and was charismatic enough that he was able to gain the following of the sentient rock soldiers. The rest of the Kraang realized how dangerous he could be if he let the power go to his head, so they de-mutated him back to his original brain form and exiled him to the 1987 universe. Defeat after defeat eventually took its toll Krang's psyche to the point he decided that maybe Ch'rell had the right idea all along in destroying everything, therefore eventually becoming the dangerous omnicidal "idiot" his cousin and the rest of the Kraang feared him becoming. Evidentially Saki was just as tired of their repeated failures and became just as omnicidal as his husbando, therefore giving up his "professionalism" for good.
American cartoons of the 80s often contraddict theirself. Like: We know the real name of Shredder is Oroku Saki. But which is the first name and which is the last name? An episode follow the western logic and makes Oroku the first name, while another episode follows the japanese logic and makes Oroku the family name.
Concept What If krang clone himself to built an army and create his own utrom empire of 70s, 80s & 90s mecha anime, zoids, adeptus titanicus, Star Wars separatist, covenant vehicles, covenant ships, terminator types, cylon, bionicle, null sector, zeon ship & zeon mobile suits? What if krang create his own technodrome version of mechagodzilla or gojulas or death saurer or trypticon?
For me its all simple: everything that exists outside of OG cartoon is non-canon. Which means both Turtles Forever and 2k12 have no bearing on story elements from OG series.
