Nice to see that drive. Those were the good old days man. Easy driving peace. Beautiful days. Now it’s rage everywhere.

This brings back memories - I used to live near the IH610/US290 interchange for a few months.

I live not too far away from 290 and traffic flow seems much improved now that it’s been widened.

I remember all the ripping up in Houston when I lived there. Love the videos of Houston and also LA since I live near Bakersfield now.

Wow this footage is almost a year old. Did anyone notice that orange VW Beetle desperately weaving through traffic.

@LUVINAAMU It's going to start really soon like within the next few months but Houston is always ripping up the roads and that particular one is one of the most congested in the city especially around Loop 610 and Beltway 8. That's where a majority of your city dollars go once they blow it out of your wallet on a toll road or when you pay your taxes.

Have to admit 290 is much better to drive on now. I just don't like how the design engineers have the entrance lanes and exit lanes crisscross on every single freeway in Houston.

That’s so traffic entering has a new lane to take the traffic, as the previous exit was exit only. It works. It’s called “lane balance:” it means the traffic has someplace to go. If traffic doesn’t have anyplace to go it’s called a traffic jam.

They built so much tacky new pseudo-McMansion housing halfway to Brenham that the construction hasn’t made as much a difference as that people don’t drive in to the office on a schedule anymore. Waste of hundreds of millions. What happened to the light rail and toll lanes down Hempstead Hwy? Seems absurd now, but that was the plan. If you don’t believe me look at some old newspapers. They couldn’t even toll the new lanes on 290. Except for the deliberate bottleneck at Hwy 6 toll lane termination, no one would pay on Katy, either. That was supposed to be congestion pricing and IT NEVER WAS DONE. At least we got rid of John Culbertson, one of the nuttiest right wingers. People are crazy.
