Hey gorgeous ;3
Definitely love the black hair, it looks good on you.
Did you know south of the forlorn hound evergaol there are a group of demi humans disguised as bushes the same as boc, it seems that there is someone going around in limgrave setting up demi human ambushes.
@@internettuffguy1197Dude, don't be a fucking creep
Please make a video on jarburg... While ur add it...
First time watching the channel... I love the ASMR quality of it.
I always liked to think that Diallos barged into the manor and saw that crucible knight chilling next to Tanith. And immediately had a change of heart. 😂
Oh absolutely, lmao. Diallos is a baby
Nah, he just realised that it's a no-combat zone
@@vojta777990 Damn! The futility... My man just gave up. 😂
It was definitely the Crucible knight that calmed him lol such a poosi.
I believe he can take out the crucible knight judging by AI vs AI fighting videos, but Bernhahl can wreck him
I also noticed that when Diallos dies in Jarburg, he doesn’t drop his shield. He wasn’t using it when he died, which shows that he had gotten over his fear of battle.
the tale of house hoslow is told in their item descriptions after all
@@pawanrohidas1163I could have sworn it was told I'm blood
This story made me cry while doing yard work. Beautiful story
@@Dunkopfand in great fashion
Should've used it lol
*_"The tale of house Hoslow is told in blood"_* is the slogan of Hoslow family
Dialos misunderstand it and thought it was about spilling enemies blood as he vow revenge for his servant, Lanya
But in the end, he understood its about self sacrifice and he did die while honoring of that creed
Very well put :)
Diallos's questline will always break my heart. Mans just wanted to do right by his name and find his purpose in life, only to be slaughtered when he finally accepts that his calling is in peace, caring for others in a loving community. I know it's silly, but I wish there was an opportunity to hunt down the poachers, or even to visit the village as the raid is happening and try to help Diallos and the Jars. ;~;
Hunting down the poachers to avenge him would have been an ironic twist. I like it
it's one of my favorite storylines in the game.
@@warsmithkarnak7960 TOLD IN BLOOD. PROTECT THY BLOOD
Maybe in the DLC we'll be able to get bloody vengeance. Though the Poachers are in league with the Perfumers. Living Jar shards are needed in one of the perfumes. By killing Perfumers, you are killing the demand for Jar Shards and getting vengeance in a less satisfying roundabout way but vengeance nonetheless.
It's FromSoftware.
There are no happy endings.
Praise the Lore Mommy
You make me wish there were no comment sections on any platform

"loveable sort ahead"
That's embarrassing. Don't ever say that again.
Dude…
Where's the Elden Ring sequel we deserve? The adventures of Jarbairn Hoslow, the whip weilding jar!
I would unironically play the shit out of a Jar-Bairn game
That was some deep psychoanalysis on Diallos's stages of grief. Wow. As always your thoughtful and insightful ER lore videos are the best Miss Chalice
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed my take on his psychological state. I really like psychoanalysing characters, helps shed light on why people do the things they do. Appreciate you!
@@miss_chaliceit was great! I'd love to see more psychoanalysis of ER characters.
21:07 "why wouldnt you wait for him to finish gesturing"
Because he uses dual bleed whips with bloodhounds step, thats why
yeah that was so annoying i had no respect to wait
This is my favorite story line in the game, it's just so evocative and relatable... also it involves Jar Bairn, who is perfect.
I wonder if Diallos being a Numen could be why he was ahead of Juno in line to rule the house. Maybe they're half brothers, and Diallos' noble Numen heritage would have entitled him to be first in line.
Ooooh that's a really good point about his Numen-link! Didn't think about that, nice observation!
ah i remember how i teared up the moment i saw Diallos on the ground.
I was so happy for him when he found his place in jarburg, and i did not think anything about the mentioned Poachers, but then the Village was devasteted and Diallos Protected the jars as best as he could, that broke something in me
Great video !
Thank you so much for enjoying the video! Yes! I was so heartbroken, Jarburg is such a beautiful little hidden gem. Curse that poacher for ruining the peace. But in a bittersweet way, it gave Diallos his time to shine
its a shame that the only thing keeping us from giving the justice that diallos deserved to the poacher is fromsoft.
Diallos living among the jars was one of the purest forms of joy... i was really happy for him, when he died my heart broke. During the questline he went from a npc i didnt mind and thought was a bit annoying to one of my favorites
I will NEVER get bored of your Elden Ring videos. This is a tale I never thought I needed to hear, never gave it much thought. I'm glad I heard it. I never did the quest despite beating NG+7 and beating it at least once on 2 other characters. I just never knew how to do it (for some reason, guides didn't help). Anyway, it was really nice to know the lore of this family.
Thank you so much!! Yes, I also rarely managed to complete his quest. From what I gathered from recording the quest triggers, it is finicky and possible to miss or even fail some parts. I also discovered that on release, the Jarburg parts and after weren't patched in! I'm so glad they restored it for Diallos and gave the champ a complete story!
Yeah in the beginning I had trouble finishing it also if you ever accidently kill one of the Kars in the village the little jar will bounce killing the quest
@@originofsin2605 After watching the video, I decided to start NG+ on a character I havent yet and completed his quest for the first time, quite sad.
@@Alchimexx you have to make it to volcano manor to get him to show up in jarburg the whole quest involves a lot of reloading in jarburg and exhausting dialouge
This questline and rya's have the unique trait of being good things coming from bad, like a bad thing birthing a good, it wasnt perfect at first but we've started moving forward now, to a better place i can only hope
I really like that take, nice point! :)
House Hoslow is one of the most Game of Thrones-y concepts in the game, complete with their own house words.
Diallos went from my most loathed NPC to my favorite by the end of his quest. He's like some sort of fantasy AJ Soprano and I love him for it.
Jar Boy taking Diallos' oath as his own like a surrogate son or ward, and understanding it more completely than the latter initially did made me wanna tear up in the most bittersweet way. Awesome questline, and love your lore videos!
Very subtle Elden Ring reference from Chalice wearing a turtle neck for the video, obviously hinting at a future Turtle Pope cosplay and lore deepdive.
Damn not subtle enough for your eagle eye ! You got me !
i had no idea this whole questline existed :O
i mean i have met diallos at the roundtable but i never found lanya and he just disappeared after some time and i guess i just left it at that.
now i feel bad i never really tried to pursue this questline now that i know of the struggle of the hoslow brothers. and maybe i am a bit more emotionally invested as a brother to two sisters myself, but i found their tale really tragic and it's a missed opportunity that diallos never learns of his brothers passing. but i guess it wasn't necessary to his character arc.
still kind of wish they had expanded on that because i find the dynamics of siblings always a great tool for various ways of storytelling. i feel the same way about how there are all these demigod siblings and their relationships aren't really elaborated on. but again, probably bias as a brother myself lol
thank you for the video ms chalice. it is incredible how much i do not know about this game and its characters ome and a half years after it came out. looking forward to more :D
Thank you so much! I also didn't realise how far the questline went; I must have accidentally failed the first time I played. Usually around the Volcano Manor part is where the quest triggers can get messed up (completing contracts, defeating Rykard etc).
I do enjoy the themes of duality and siblings in this game and glad they struck a chord with you. As an only child, I am a little jealous of the bond that can develop between siblings. I'm glad to hear about your perspective as a brother and am thankful for your comment!
@@miss_chalice the Jarburg part of the questline was only added in Patch 1.03 so you may have simply focussed on him too early.
You are not alone there. I finished Journey 1 and 2 without even knowing Jarburg existed. 😅
@@killerjoke2945 In the good old days, the map had a non-existent road to Jarburg from the study hall, and my intrigue over the map being inaccurate led me to where that road was going. Now the main hook is an easily missable segment of Alexander's questline in between the Radahn Festival and Mt. Gelmir
In the original release version of the game there were issues with the Diallos questline. I missed him entirely until later patches fixed an issue with him and I found him later in a different playthrough.
Diallos felt that his brother Juno was a great man, and his glory came from battle
But what Diallos failed to realize for so long, was that the glory and praise from Juno’s battles, wasn’t due to Juno’s prowess, though he was a formidable warrior (I speak from the experience of facing him) but rather, it was from WHY Juno fought that he received praise and glory
Battles and wars are not glorious, bloodshed is not glorious, but meaningful conflict, having a reason to fight, that is what brings glory and honour
Diallos realized this when he fought for Jarburg, it doesn’t matter what you kill, what matters is why you kill
There is little glory in killing a troll for no reason, but utmost respect, for killing a poacher that seeks to destroy the Living Jars
I love the naming conventions in this game, so thank you for that very interesting bit in particular. Something neat I noticed a while back was the name of Dung Eater’s “Sword of Milos” can be associated with the Greek name that means “Lover of glory” (an appropriate name for a sword), but also with the Slavic name Miloš which ironically means “gentle”. Also the fact that the sword was crafted from an undersized giant’s spine could be a play on a “gentle giant”. This game never ceases to amaze me in its level of detail…
i had literally no idea there was an area in the game with little Pots everywhere, i have to go there RIGHT NOW THIS IS INSANE!! I lvoe the pots so much, thank you for making this the farthest i've gotten on Diallo's quest was me talking to him in the manor and that was about it i never knew how deep this quest was, this is amazing!
This was a great video, beautifully told. It even made me tear up 😢
Thank you! It feels a bit cruel to say "I glad I made you cry!" but I'm happy my telling of this story resonated with you. That's all I could ask for :)
@@miss_chalice Normally I would agree, but for me personally I'm actually happy being able to cry. So thank you for making me cry 😅
This is one my favorite stories of the game.. It's so sad, but when you understand the depth of it. It has such a powerful meaning.
I really like how I could tell your voice was getting kinda shaky at points, at points where the tale and lore got sad and emotional. It really hit
A most beautiful explanation of my most favored quest in Elden Ring. Truly magnificent!
This was precious! I had no idea all the seemingly out of place story elements make sense put together! Thanks for doing this.
Seriously great job with this. I had no idea. Your videos enrich this game so much for me and im already enthralled in it.
Absolute incredible, your elden ring videos are something else.
For everything I wasn't paying too much attention or simply didn't understand nor had the time to... you covered it all.
Thank you for making those videos, they rly help to bring the lore closer.
This was absolutely beautiful and the conclusion was moving, thank you for the video
Another great video! I love to listen to you tell these tales. The stories in Elden Ring are so deep and winding and I miss so much about them, getting to listen to you recount them and reveal all these deeper ideas in your soothing voice is always a treat. Keep 'em coming!
Recently, I have found a few youtube channels I consider damn near criminally underrated, and you are indeed one of them. High Quality as always!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon your lore videos! It’s been a few days now and as an Elden Ring fan this has been THE bedtime stories I look forward too right before sleeping.
Your videos are excellent! I learn so much from how you tell stories and connect lore bits, very appreciated!
I've been watching a bunch of lore videos to freshen up before the DLC, and your videos have been fantastic to watch! Your storytelling voice is captivating, and you manage to encompass all the information within a perfect amount of time, making the videos easy to follow.
Incredible work!⭐
Thank you for making these!
"Don't you worry, I have some BIG plans." Can't wait for the Armored Core cosplay 😄
Would be hilarious to see her roll up in a full cardboard mech outfit and start talking about the tragedy of Rusty or something.
Won't ever get tired of your lore vids. Your vice is uniquely interesting and calmly and your lore explanations are clear and concise yet full of information without being boring.
i love your videos! they are so soothing and in depth :)
I'm so happy that I found this channel. You have the perfect voice for this.
Hell yeah. Everyone’s favorite lore queen is back at it again with her amazing voice and content.
I really shouldn’t have watched this while on my period because I actually started crying at the Jarburg section.
Gentle Diallos finally finding his home and dying protecting them, saving a child who then wants to carry on his legacy.
Your analysis and narration is incredible
So glad to see how the poll swayed. These videos are fantastic. The Hoslow storyline is so fascinating from start to finish, it constantly caught me off guard how completely different questlines I got invested in somehow kept putting me right in the face of this man and his naïveté. This format helps remember and conceptualize all the different events.
That said, I hope the other options get some love too. Enjoying the character/quest lore most doesn’t mean we all wouldn’t enjoy the others now and then.
Another excellent video. The way you present these is always fun and also relaxing.
I've stopped playing ER a while ago, moved on to other games... But I'll never say no to a Miss Chalice Prod's video! Thanks to the great quality and storytelling you've developed, one could likely enjoy your content without having played the game :)
Very happy to see you continuing this series (and excited for DLC lore in the future), and would love to see your take on other game lore as well!
Was very moving to hear your depiction of this story, one which I quite enjoyed while playing but have found more emotionally impactful when put together in this way. Very enjoyable and impressive.
There’s already some sick lore vids on this story and you still brought a new perspective to this storyline. Pure heat.
Honestly, I think he saw the looming Tree Sentinel and understood in his heart of hearts, he was not ready for that smoke.
Whenever I do themed runs in the game, I always do a hoslow run because I absolutely love everything about their lore and aesthetic. It’s all just so interesting to me
This just showed up on my feed and it made my morning 😁 I’ve always loved the lore of House Hoslow! And that armor is just *muah* perfect!
Your videos are always so interesting and your perspectives so fresh and thought provoking. Elden Ring is just a wealth of stories to be discovered and perceived in many different ways. I enjoyed your Diablo videos as well. Whatever you decide to do will be great I'm sure but I'll hold out hope for more of your thoughts on the world of Sanctuary. Thanks for what you do.
Damn, the story was way more touching than I thought it was going to be. Solid presentation. From Soft’s writers are pretty legendary at this point.
Nice to see you making content full time now. The channel getting bigger and hope it grows even bigger. Keep it up! *thumbs up*
sitting here in tears, love your delivery of souls lore. Please continue on doing these.Would love to see you go back to other souls games as well.
This video was wonderful chalice super well presented :] I don't think I've ever actually completed Diallos' quest line in full which is a shame tbh it's a really good quest! I really like the idea that you proposed about the House Hoslow quote coming from Juno himself and it being about their family blood ties as opposed to blood spilled by them, I think its a neat idea. I wish we got more interactions with Juno he seems super interesting (shame we have to fight him but his drip is too good)
I'd love to see a video about the Jars! I love your Elden Ring lore videos so I'd be happy to listen to anything (and I'm excited for non Elden Ring videos too!!!)
I have watched a lot of lore vids but haven’t seen any on Hoslow. Or if I have it wasn’t told nearly as good as this. Great job!!!
I still find weird that there was no interaction with dialos, if you deside to kill Juno. Kinda like a lost oportunity there
Yes I found it a little odd as well. In fairness, it took the whole questline for Diallos to get over the death of Lanya. I can't imagine what it what have done to him if we told him his brother had perished too! Our lad needs a break!
That’s what I was saying! Considering how invasions work, it could be that we invaded another universe’s Juno and that the Juno in the main universe is already dead and Diallos is wearing his armor.
@@miss_chalice Nah. He needs to know the truth. It would have been better if the game let us. It could have been like the questline in Bloodborne revolving around Gascoigne’s daughter.
I just tried to start watching this when it was uploaded to give you the support you deserve - but then I heard your voice and realised it's FAR too early in the day & you'd relax me into sleep when I want to stay awake 😂
your voice is one of the best things i have ever heard. really peaceful
So happy for this video. Because of a bug I wasn't able to see Diallos in Jarburg and I was finally able to see the end of the quest with your video. Diallos is a great character.
Thank you for uploading this vid! I love Juno Hoslows armor, but man that fight was challenging but it was worth it!
Iron Fist Alexander and Diallos are almost foils of one another. Alexander was a good hearted fellow who did all he could to become as mighty a Jar as any could, ending with you sending him off as the warrior he always wished to be, while Diallos, through his own journey, found the strength in being gentle towards family and the meek, and the courage to lay your life for those you love. Jar Bairn, holding both within hisself, I have no doubts, will be able to hold these two convictions in harmony, and the converged end of these two questlines leaves one of the few but nevertheless shining beacons of hope for the Lands Between. It’s truly beautiful storytelling
ah a beautifully crafted and informative video. Love your work, covering the information so well and at a pace i really enjoy.
"the tale of house Hoslow is told in blood. coz"
Diallos in my opinion is one of the most relatable characters of From Software's games ever, I'm genuinely fond of him. Great work, first time seeing one of your videos, definetly subscribing!
Love these videos I’ve played hundreds of hours of elden ring and I can’t believe I missed this quest line brilliantly narrated I genuinely felt a feeling of sadness seeing diallos’s end after seeing him finally have a feeling of pride
22:50 - (until the end) This literally made me bawl like a baby.
I love your videos and I'm so sad I didn't see this one until now. Probably my new favorite and was so worth crying the last 10min of the video 😭🤍
As someone who also has hated their hands their whole life and who often feels like a directionless fool... This ending got to me big time😢❤
I cannot thank you enough for the brilliant way you articulate so much information while presenting it in a calm story book way that makes us understand, follow along without getting lost, so we call learn more about the deep rich lore presented in such a fantasticly whimsical way.
Thank you, so much
I love all of your videos, never stop the Lore hunt!
One of best fashions in the game. That Dialos armor is top notch. Great video Miss Chalice!
I was very moved by diallo’s storyline I decided it’d have a great impact on my elden ring character. I started as a roisoner and decided to keep the weird helmet as far as I could, as if the character, moved by remorse against the world, wanted to make his origins clear, he wanted his enemies to know who slain them, the lowly prisoner will one day sit on the throne. But diallos’ story changed him, already deep into the story and developed as a character, when he finds the fellow tarnished dead, protecting the little town and the people that opened their doors to him, the tarnished finally puts down the prisoner helmet, and now bears the bloodied mask of Hoslow
Shit backstory. The backstory of my characters are way better. The backstory of the character in my first and currently only build guide is that she is a foreign princess and a blood priestess sent to the lands between to become Elden Lord. She uses blood magic to strengthen her weapons and absorb the vital energies of humanoid opps. Her men were all killed off by the grafted scion at the beginning. It’s alright because her men abused and violated her for her powers.
@@AutismGaming489 oh my character used blood arts too, but just because he’s kinda unwell in the head and goes for a health challenging fighting style for the added power and just dives headfirst into fights like a wild animal, one of his attacks is that flask that makes you explode
@@diegovera1353 You an arcane/intelligence build?
@@AutismGaming489 kind of? Idk, I used arcane/dex but have some stats on intelligence because of spells I wanted to use
@@diegovera1353 You gotta check out my early game arcane build guide on my channel. It is actually pretty decent.
Damn i never got too far on his quest line....your video actually made me cry ...thank you for telling this stories ❤
The coolest thing also. Is that when you do the contract on Juno from Volcano Mannor.
You are actually going back in time to when Juno was laying waste to the Mountaintop Of The Giants!
Invading seriously irks the Elden Ring Timeline.
Wooo hooo, big plans?! Can't wait to find out. Great video as usual.
Thanks for the video as always, keep up the good work!
This channel is awesome gamer lore and ASMR all in one. Just love this!
Brought tears to my eyes again. The moment Diallos was passing I just couldn’t. I had to take a break from the game because all the misfortune, especially after Blaïdd and Iji, just got the better me. I could only aspire to be half as great as these guys. 😢
Most well done, madam.
1 You've made me cry (in a good way, I promise) by sheer storytelling talent alone.
2 I think I've found the person to migrate to after Vati's transition to more flashy videos.
What I want is someone with a very pleasant voice to talk about the games' lore, not a flashy presentation that takes away from the narration and you hit the nail on the head.
Thank you very much. :D
Your level of empathy for this character brought me to tears at one point. Highly unexpected but also highly appreciated. You have a masterful gift for doing this.
Very good video lowkey made me emotional and learned new tbings like the shield and about his bro wow i see him completely differently now 😢
Just finished this quest yesterday on my first play through love ya videos
Can’t wait for even more amazing lore form you. ❤
I had no idea about this storyline in the game. Awesome! Great video~
Thank you for making this! I’d like to think my suggestion played a part in you making it 😜
This was a quest I completed just for the sake of completing it, and boy am I glad I did. Of course it ends sadly because it’s this game lol but the story was so moving at the end. It wasn’t you the little jar wanted to be like, it was Diallos who gave his life to protect his friends 😭
This video was fantastically informative. Thank you!
One of the most beautiful spoken stories in this game, not gonna lie I was teary eyed
I absolutely love your voice. So calm and soothing, even when describing terrible events.
I cried the first time I experienced Diallos story and this video made me relive that. Such a beautiful yet tragic end to such a great character.

First time I’ve been around for a new upload. This is going to be good
It looks interesting. Thanks for the video Miss Challice
I am astounded by how soothing your voice manages to be when talking of the land between
I played through this questline on my second playthrough, and only with the fullsome help of the internet. Thanks for fleshing it out Miss Chalice; the tale of house Hounslow is told in a turtleneck ;). Glad for you that Vaati shouted you out lately, well deserved.
Excellent video, just like always!
I love how you dive into the psychological side of things!
DAMN! What a journey that was, great work!
You did an amazing job as always.
What's interesting is the House Hoslow helms look a lot like the Marais Mask, which has braid similar to Marika, further hinting at the shared Numen origin.
House of hoslow seems so awesome. It would be awesome for a future DLC that allows us to visit it, and learn more about it.
Also the Juno's arms-armor and fighting style with Bloodhound step are so badass!!! I JUDT had to replicate them😂❤
Oh, and I love your sweet relaxing voice.
Juno Hoslow at RL1 and on Patch 1.09 haunts my nightmares. "Ritual Shield Talisman? What a grand and intoxicating innocence [power stance whips your ass]"
Thank you for covering this 🖤
