My favourite anagram is...
"Eleven plus two" is an anagram of "Twelve plus one"
You would enjoy full episodes of this show. Apart from being very funny and entertaining it’s packed with knowledge
The opposite of "fire" is "hire" ;-)
Nono, the opposite of _"fire"_ is _"hold fire!"_
"Don't worry Marge .... it's IN-flammable" - Homer Simpson.
Love the plaits Jodie. They really suit you.
'Mom' upside-down doesn't work in the UK , it spells Wuw....😂😂
Great post guys. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm loving the fact you guys enjoy QI. It's always been one of my fav shows, funny but i learn stuff too
QI, learning and humour. The programme though is very dependent on the quality of the panel..., a good group today. Nice reactions, always enjoy watching you two, very natural.
You need to say "humor" otherwise they won't know what you mean.
Here another Sarah you should react to , one of her early jobs
was as a tour guide in London , great guest for QI.
That was a good one for the content and the reaction, thanks.
Great stuff, thanks guys!
Your weekly knowledge download. Always loved QI.
If you flip a word upside down and are able to read it, it's called an Ambigram. Ambi- being the same route as ambidextrous meaning either way. They are typically very font dependent, as you'd expect
The amount of times I have heard people say 'It was on QI' after stating an interesting/little-known fact, goes to show how much it has permeated the culture. I've said it myself many times.
Me too, but it catches you out when they include an item that contradicts one from a previous series.
@@leohickey4953 Yes, I think they even had an episode where they addressed the fallibility of facts and awarded Alan Davies retrospective points.
I'm subscribed and suggested you guys to friends. Also considering the membership thing but wanna know my suggestions will be taking into consideration
Of course. Thanks for considering.
Great video 👍 Maybe use some of QI in your job could prove interesting 😊
Simpsons was Alec Guinness = Genuine Class
An anagram of Jeremy Irons is Jeremy's Iron.
I remember that Homer (Simpson) was once distracted and he wondered if people could be tracted.
Very good.

'Fire' is a noun. Do nouns have opposites? What's the opposite of 'house' or 'car'? Most adjectives (fast / slow) and adverbs (quickly / slowly) have opposites but not all. Haven't thought about it till now.
I'm shocked 2 teachers who couldn't answer this right , you said flammable 😂😂😂😂
I've got a degree in English Language and Literature and agreed with Nick. I hold my head in shame.
They are American to be fair 😂
So you didn’t know that inflammable meant flammable. The look on your face however when they said it, was priceless! It becomes more and more obvious that there must be a dire shortage of teachers in the United States.
@8.20 Oh my gwosh XD
Does BBC America not show QI, I do remember Stephen Fry saying something about the pictures shown break some kind of licence, but sure a friend went over and was streaming British Box!
So interesting
*Q*uite *I*nteresting 😂
If you do decide to do full episodes then you should know there's QI and QI XL which is a longer version. The latter tends to include more 'adult' humour and offensive language if you plan to do reactions but is consequently more entertaining.
The racecar example you gave is different, it's a palindrome, where the word is the same forwards as it is backwards, like radar, or a really fun one; was it a car or a cat i saw?
Fire resistant 🔥💧
Nick, Jodie, would you ever do longer videos.
Love these but to short
Yeah too short.
Welcome back, Karen.
Is it that episode where Lisa goes to her new friend’s house… and the girl and her dad play the anagram game?
I liked only for Sara Pascoe.
The Eskimos have dozens of words for snow and we have none for the opposite of fire.
Also in a 'Simpsons' ep - After a fire - a character is seen holding a can of petrol [ or other explosive material ] and says - ''INflammable means Flammable ?!!''
Opposite of fire is don’t fire!
Ineffable is a great world.
Is that a new planet?
Your last comment: best thing since sliced bread. Which came first: the toaster or sliced bread? Toaster, that's why sliced bread was so great, you no longer had to cut your own bread to fit, sliced bread was more consistent in height and width
If you guys set up a patreon with full QI, and Taskmaster - count me in.
The Simpsons did this with Dr. Nick.
QS (15 minutes), QI (30 minutes), QIxl (45 minutes)
I was wrong with outflammable 😂
Never a more 21st century statement. "The (insert TV program) is where I learned)......".
I would have thought that the opposite of 'fire' was 'hire'! If 'fire' is used as a noun, as with all nouns, it is difficult to have opposites of nouns - unlike verbs, adverbs or adjectives...
Rob Words has a video of lost positive
I like tat the word "bed" looks like a bed
Fire in the sense you used it is a noun - there is no reason for it to have an opposite.
2+2=5 !
6*9 is 42 in base 13!
The QI ' elves' elves excelled themselves with the antigrams , we do like our obscure lingual facts .
Please react to a whole QI episode I know that's difficult Daniel Radcliffe QI. And Quidicecialy British drama comedy the Detecterists ❤😅😊
or even detectorists to give it's correct title and spelling, yes I am that pedant.
It helps to know that Sandy is both a lesbian and originally Danish (despite having a perfect British accent). Quite a few jokes come up around that.
What is a palindrome attributed to Napoleon?
Able was I ere I saw Elba
By common consent the longest palindrome (i.e., a word or phrase that reads the same forwards as backwards) is Napoleonic, namely, Able was I ere I saw Elba.
It's an anagram as well of course.
I have some suggestions to get your numbers up... I've watched almost all your vids and am subscribed.
I've had these thoughts for a few weeks but decided not to say anything - because I'm always so negative lol (according to my wife anyway) Ready?
1. Your audio volumes are all over the place! Nick especially your voice is so loud it overpowers Jodi's voice AND the clip's. sound level even more whem it's too quiet. I watch during the night when my kids are asleep and there's nothing more annoying than riding the volume knob, constantly jumping at Nick's loud bits to turn it down quickly enough.
So, the solution is to turn the clips up. Then move your mic nearer to Jodi so it's farther from you - then there's a chance I might not have to ride my volume contrls when watching your vids late at night and the potential to enjoy them more - seriously, Nick, your laugh is so loud over everything! lol
Another answer - get two mics so you have one each. Listen back to some videos on crappy PC speakers at very low levels to see the difference.
These things should fix audio levels nicely :)
2. Please, for the love of God and all things holy, would you stop referring to Jodi as 'she' or 'her' when she's right there with you! Doesn't she have a name? I can really see her squirming everytime you do it and it's a tad demeaning for her. I get that you're trying to build rappor with older subscribers but I'm also sure that I'm not alone here.
I hate people talking about me, right in front of me, saying 'him' and 'he' when I'm sitting right there!. It's just considered rude here. (here being the UK :) )
3. Do more live research for references that you don't understand - lots of 'reactors' do this and I personally really enjoy watching someone learning to better understand things. It also helps you understand the jokes better so to better react to them :) It only adds.
4. Your intro joke of "here's such and such" - is an in joke. Newcomers to the channel don't get it, the only ones that do are the subscribers who've watched lots of your content. A successful channel must be aimed at both demographics else the channel won't grow. Or it will grow too slowly.
5. I'd like to see Bill Bailey getting some time on your channel :) One of my favourites for really really dry clean humour (and a musical genius on stage too).
6. Has to be a compliment. Love the show. Love the comedy. Love your engagement with English culture and your enthusiasm for learning more. Keep doing you guys and I wish you every success :) Bless
Thanks for the suggestions. Not gonna lie most of this seemed like a rant/vent but I’m going to not take it that way. The sound situation can’t really be remedied without better equipment. The mic is in her side. The volume problem is tough because I’m naturally louder and she is naturally quieter. It’s hard to change aspects of your personality that you’ve had for 40 years. I’m loud though so it can be heard over the video. The laugh isn’t intentional. Again that’s how I laugh. I don’t think about it. Not sure how to fix that. It would be like your wife expecting you to not be negative. You can try but natural instincts always take the wheel.
About the pronoun thing. I’ve never heard this complaint. Ever. I’m sorry it bugs you. I can promise you Jodi hasn’t thought about it once nor has she ever mentioned it as anything at all. It’s not meant to demean. It could be from a place where it’s annoying to me for someone to say someone’s name over and over when pronouns exist. I have written a book. When writing that info didn’t have pronouns it would have driven me nuts. The opening thing is something new. We don’t do it everytime and it’s more for us to change the monotony of the whole thing. The majority of YT viewers for reactions skip the intro and outro anyways. Usually it’s the long time viewers like yourself that watch the whole thing. We appreciate that. Thanks again for the suggestions. I’ll think on it but with the personality aspects, don’t hold your breath on all the things that annoy you changing. At the end of the day we have to be who we are. I’m not a techie but I have wanted a new mic or set so I will see the options.
@@BoringReviewsHey! I honestly was only 'hoping' for a reply lololol I know it may seem ranty, but you did ask for subscribers, and my thoughts seemed appropriate - apologies if I was wrong.
Thank you, a direct response is always much appreciated. The humanity amongst UA-camrs, it seems, is not lost as it appears to be on the streets these days.
Seriously though, my comment was made with nothing but love so please take it that way only :)
Anyways...
Yeah I hear you with the levels thing. I'm a sound engineer so it's always the audio that bugs me lol and to be honest, my kids probably can't even hear a thing and I'm just being paranoid about it because I'm trying to be quiet yaknow. Not everyone really cares so much tbh but if it's professionalism you want...
Then I'd say Yes, check out some new mics! Or maybe a mixer/controller of some sort?
I'm no expert on UA-cam sound control, but I do know that good sound makes a big difference in professionality. The live events I've organised have shown me so ;)
Now, if you're getting more subscribers lately and the channel is growing then you're gonna want to appeal to more people and that is a great place to start IMHO with some more advanced streaming equipment.
I'm sure you're aware... but there are a growing number of Americans doing UK comedy reactions and you need to stay in front of them, to stay in front of them...
I like you guys and I want to see you do well.
The camera is good IMHO, angles, saturation, colour, clarity and perfectly viewable.
Sometimes the clip window is a little too transparent but I think we can live with that one.
...to add praise about the other aspects, for balance :)
Re; Pronouns
Pronouns aren't the issue (I believe that's solely an American thing?) and I'm not offended my Brother, more 'perturbed', or maybe 'cringed' in a more coloquial slang - My Mum always told me off when I had friends round (in my younger years obviously lol) because of this, I would refer to her as 'her' when I turned to my friends to say something about her, rather than use her name and draw her into the conversation - it amounts to, to put it lightly, talking about someone behind their back - but moreso than that, it splits the focus of a group conversation to side with one or the other against another.
So while it may make you feel more bonded to your audience, which is never a bad thing btw (and do rememebr this is purely my opinion) your 'guest' (if we can call it that, because you do appear to have multiple guests often) will feel a little left out of that bonding loop and ultimately miss out on that energy you are sharing with the audience.
Try using 'we', or just use her name to imply that you both are talking to me directly as a viewer, rather than just one of you anchoring the show and the other being a guest - do you know what I mean?
Sorry if I'm making a ballsup of this explanation - not explaining myself properly (or doing it with too many paragraphs) is a problem I'm working on lol
Thanks for such an in-depth reply as well, Nick. Very unexpected as I can guess you probs don't reply to everything. But I'm happy to share my views when requested - and I always have lots of them lol
btw to end with - I have another reaction suggestion I think you'll like...
A channel called 'Mapmen', I've seen it reacted to by others and it alwys works really well.
They have some fantastic content, always really funny and their vids are entirely scripted and directed making them really fun and professional-esque. You will find yourself pausing often to see the hidden jokes lol
The crux, is that they have some VERY interesting videos on English history, Kings Queens etc, as well as one or two on Britains conquest of the world. I think that as teachers you and Jodi both would really enjoy that channel. Perhaps your audience too? Have a look if you find some time :)
Happy reacting, to the both of you!
And thank you again for your time, Nick.
If nothing else, I will have given you some food for thought :)
Thanks for the reply back as well. We do appreciate the comment and the idea of trying to help us out. As far as the sound goes again. Since it is up your alley let me know what you suggest we buy on a budget. Maybe you can do some research for us. We would need it to be able to connect with USB. I have thought about sound mixers but know nothing about them. Would appreciate your expertise in this arena
This is what the Brits are really good at
I don't see how you can have an opposite of fire like you cannot have an opposite of a chair or a lamp.
You mom and wow are ambigrams. But they are often done by clever lettering. Another one is a palindrome that reads forwards and backwards the same.
Thanks for sharing this reaction fascinating stuff isn't it.
Why do we say that something is on fire? Like "that building is on fire".
The flames are on the building. Not the other way around. So shouldn't we say "the fire is on the building"?
Full episodes of QI are usually very good although I always watch them with the captions turned on. Otherwise, the audience laughter masks some of the humour.
Race car is a Palindrome
But the palindrome of Bolton is Notlob.
These people are educating your kids America. Are you afraid? You should be.
Luckily for the kids of America we don’t teach them something without researching it and preparing for it at nausea beforehand. We do occasionally have brain farts though as other human beings do.
@@BoringReviews I'm sure you're getting used to such comments; you handle them very well. You're great.
That's one of the problems of modern education system . Kids read fewer books so have limited vocabularies.
Words are ideas .
Here's a suggestion.
Ask kids to look up 5 words a day and get them to explain the etymology of them and meaning.
It will expand their minds.
What's the obsession with books? Reading is the important part. Reading UA-cam comments or erotica QI fan fiction is just as useful to increase vocabulary.
Love your channel - BUT - as adult, intelligent, teachers could you please tell an old Englishman what your regular introduction means .... "What up" ???
Out flammable?
Mom upside down is wow; us Brits are like, wnw?!?
Its what's up,not what up.
Uninflamable?
they dont exactly, actually mean the same thing.. flammable means it can be set on fire, ignited....
inflammable means it can burst into flames, become alight without being ignited....just saying 🎤⬇️✌
No, you failed the Simpsons
