Didcot Railway Centre - Steaming Day - 06/08/2016

On a lovely summers day, i went to visit the Didcot Railway Centre for one of their Steaming Days, with trains being hauled on the main demonstration line by King Class 4-6-0 no 6023 'King Edward II', on Saturday 6th August 2016
This video shows some close ups of the King preparing for a days work before moving onto the demonstration line with the passenger carriages, we then travel down the line to Oxford Road and return, shown from the lineside and the footplate of the Kings, after a good days work the King then shunts the stock to the back of the centre before finishing off her day at the servicing pit for disposal of the fire
With thanks to the crew on the King for the opportunity to ride on the footplate of the engine! This was also on the day when 46233 & 60163 passed through Didcot on light locomotive movements (see previous upload)

I have a memory from train-spotting days,of 6023 at Didcot in the shed yard,and in ex-Works green livery,and her/him being there for several hours before I left. Kings were uncommon there,and in hindsight it may have come in on a running turn and for whatever reason,been taken off. Nice video.
