I usually have everything taken down by Jan. 3. I like to clean and refresh areas for the new year. I like how everything looks so clean and cozy! i did not take christmas decorations down until this week & left my snowmen decoratioins out. I undecorated my pencil tree (but will leave up for now) & undecorated our large tree but left any snowmen, sleds & mittens on it for winter. Though did rearrange snowmen decorations. I enjoyed your video.
Yes, my mother was from the south and taught me to fix Black Eyed Peas with ham and cornbread for New Year's. It is a southern tradition that is supposed to bring luck in the New Year, so I've kept the tradition going all these years!❤

I have off work the first 3 days of the New Year, so yes…I decided to take down Christmas, I wanted to keep everything up until December 6, which is Three Kings day, this is where the 12 Days of Christmas comes from. But I wanted to make good use of the time I had off work and it’s raining in Southern California so I’m inside cleaning
Our Christmas stuff is still out, since we started doing the 12 days of Christmas a couple years ago. 😊 it’s fun to extend the holiday season a bit. My parents are visiting right now, so I may wait to take everything down except the real tree until after they leave.
Hollie, I have my Christmas decor up yet. I'm from PA and the PA dutch eat Pork & Sauerkraut on New Years day. It's because the Pennsylvania Dutch believe eating pork on New Year's Day brings good luck because pigs root around with there snout in a forward motion. The Sauerkraut is made from cabbage - a symbol of money because it's leafy and green. Hope you feel better.
I’m sorry you’re sick! I have been sick since December 3 so I understand. First I had the dreaded C and that wasn’t too bad except for the fever and that kicked my butt! Then I ended up with a sinus infection and bronchitis! Didn’t even get to put up our tree and couldn’t be around anyone so we are just now celebrating this coming weekend!

Yes, I deep clean before & after Xmas decorating. However, I CONTINUE to use my SCOTTISH TARTAN pillows (2 sets of Navy/Green & 2 sets of Red Black) and Red Tartan Wool Throws as our WINTER decor till about mid or late February....I call it our Scottish Winter Home Theme with photos of Deer and Fox & Winter Snow Rabbits along with our various Deer statues. Your new home was perfectly decorated for Christmas, just the right touch! Happy New Year Holly! 🎄🎉🎊

I took my Christmas Decor down on,December 30.When New Years comes along,I want a clean slate with winter Decor.I did leave up my wreath,and some pinecone picks.We have a lot of snow,and more is coming this week,so it makes it cozy.
Yes I take my Christmas decorations down New Year’s Day- because my birthday is New Years Eve and I love having everything decorated. And then I clean everything because there is usually glitter everywhere. Then take a few days off before we get started on the projects we want to do TYFS and have a great day!

I waited till last week after Christmas but left my tree up another week . It took that long to get it all organized because I decluttered . I deep clean as I go also ❤. I also wash the Christmas blankets and pillow covers as I go too .

My decorations are all on the dining room table but deep cleaning is essential after Christmas for me ! Yes the sparkles and glitter gets everywhere 😂I love decorating but taking it all down is not as much fun! I separate my decorations breakable and not breakable and load each tote! I take a breather in January and then add Valentines in either late in the month or the first of February! Can’t wait to hear about all your ideas for the new year!! Hope you feel better soon!
Hello we are very simple for Christmas it’s only two of us. I keep my house with fall and neutral colors all year round. I don’t decorate for all season in the winter I add blankets on our lounge chairs on the patio, and then in the summer I add some white and real plants out side.
