Happy New Year friend! Today we are undecorating for Christmas and we are working in the family room, dining room, and entryway! It always feels so good to start the next season with a fresh clean slate! I hope you all enjoy this video and that it gives you a little inspiration to get your home reset for the next season! We are taking ours down today and tomorrow - I've never been this early! I'm just so overloaded, going from fall into Christmas, I just want my calm, soothing neutrals back!
We are still all decorated. We celebrated yesterday with the other half of my family who were sadly all sick for Christmas day. We had a wonderful day! I usually start taking down on little Christmas, which is January 6th. I might start on some of it during the week but save the main tree until then. I really enjoy Christmas decor so much, it's sad to say goodbye. Time certainly flies! Wishing you and your beautiful family a blessed and wonderful 2024! ❤🍾🥂
I've taken down all the Christmas decor today. And I should admit I feel really relaxed.
Dana… As you were taking down your Christmas in your Kitchen it inspired me to take down most of my living room decor. It is always bitter sweet because I love how cozy and pretty everything is. But I have also been taking down dining room and kitchen decor as well. I am a lot older than you and every year I say next year I am not decorating as much, but every year I do. But I do love getting my house cleaned back up. Thank You for sharing your home is absolutely beautiful. And I love to say this See you next Year.🎉
I leave everything up until the end of January. The season is so short, so I enjoy it a long time. Have a nice vacation.

5 Trees total, but a couple are smaller or pencil trees.

I must have missed your family room decorate with me for Christmas. Your tree was gorgeous! I have been taking down my Christmas items today. I am sad to take it down but it is nice to have the house not look as cluttered.

My Christmas is down. Incorporating snow decor for winter but not all until my housekeeper does a good cleaning!
Your right things look very blah. But you've had your stuff up longer than normally with filming. I'm not ready to take mine down but it will be next week I'm finding it hard to find winter decor maybe some suggestions plz. But I'm sure it feels good to get it down and while looks empty your winter decor is always nice looking at.
Yes here in NY state it is misty damp and lots of doom and gloom. But for now we don't need to shovel it. Have a great New Year's and a great vacation. Be anxious for the next video

Dana, I feel the same way about leaving some christmas decor out that could be winter. I don't want to re-pull out bins either 😊. I do have all my things down except for my tree. The house does feel fresh. I'm letting my house "set" as well before I re-decorate. I can't wait to see what you do! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dana I loved my Christmas decor this year. But no matter how much I love it, it starts to make me anxious as soon as it is over. I took mine down on Wednesday & today (since it was beautiful out) I took down the outside decor. I like to leave it pretty minimal in the new year probably until Easter time.
Dana, you are like a “whirlwind” taking down Christmas decor and putting it away. Did you speed up the video? It will be nice for you to come home from vacation and have Christmas decor packed away and a clean house. Can’t wait to see your winter decor! Enjoy your vacay!

I can tell you why I’m not motivated…in my small house, it creates pure chaos! Also, I love my decor and not looking forward to my home without it! May we both find the motivation! 😊

Hi Dana! Oh I wish I was as motivates as you are! For me it was, do I do tax prep for the business or do I take down decor. Well, as always the business wins out! I just figured I take stuff down when I can. Looks like work will be a zoo when I return tomorrow so guess it isn't happening until maybe Friday afternoon and Sunday. I probably won't get real far.....geez I put a lot up this year but I'll do what I can. It's always a little sad to take things down especially since we had no snow. I agree, the weather here has been the same... cold and rainy. Have a good vacation in a week or so! Hope you're going somewhere warm and relaxing!
I think it's kinda sad to take it down, although l'm so glad to say good-bye to the holidays! I did start putting holiday decor away today, but didn't get finished--the house is a big mess! Hope to at least get everything put away tomorrow...fingers crossed!🤞😊

I get it, wanting to have it down before vacation. We aren't going anywhere soon, Soo it will be up for a while.🎄 You mentioned not being able to donate to Goodwill, when my daughter lived in Buffalo there were DAV thrift stores. Idk if you have any near you, but it is a good place, some of the funds go to disabled vets. Have a great trip.😊🏖️

I confess to copying what you did and we absolutely love it (although after measuring and hanging three of the pictures, my husband said that's it - lol) I am very anxious to see what winter prints you replace these with. I have been scouring Amazon and Etsy but haven't found anything that is just right. I am so excited to see what you do for winter. I just love your style and your taste!

I have all of my Christmas decor put away. I actually reorganized the entire storage room while putting Christmas away. I am reorganizing closets and rooms. It feels sooo good. For January I decorate in blue and white and snowflakes. It’s soothing! I like this video.

Actually, I’m taking down the tree today, which is Sat. Miss Millie, kitty, won’t leave it alone this year. I got a new tree, and I think the branches might be a little softer then my last tree. Thank you for these great videos. I definitely need inspiration to get me started on removing Christmas decor. I don’t think anyone is happy to do it. You did such an amazing job with your beautiful Christmas decorating this year. Outstanding! I’m happy you are going on a much needed vacation. Hope you get some R and R.
