So glad I saw this video today! I just saw a commercial yesterday from the New York Long Island Gaming Expo and was about to purchase my ticket and flight. I would be coming from Puerto Rico and was going to do a combined trip of New York City and then go to the Long Island Expo. Seeing the recommendation from my both of favorite Johns, I'm going to save instead and go to Midwest Gaming Classic next year!
It was an absolute pleasure to spend some time with you this weekend, my friend. MGC is a magnificent show that really delivers on everything - varied selection, lots of events, great panels, a killer bonus stage, and amazing guests. So glad to have been able to attend!

Living in SE Wisconsin, MGC is always one of the highlights of the year, I love checking out the stuff and hunting for treasure in the vendor hall. I think this year my big pickups were a Collector's Edition copy of Dungeons and Doomknights for NES, a complete boxed copy of Spiritual Warfare for NES and a new Evercade EXP, but I got plenty of other goodies too.
I do agree it is the best in the US, but I've only been to MGC (3 times) and MoGame Con (1 time). It was a pleasure to finally meet you in person and thank you for all your knowledge and the 'hidden gem' games I've added to my collection because of it. My favorite 3 pickups from this year's convention were MGC exclusive Moto X for SNES, Fragile Dreams CIB on Wii, and Fatal Frame III CIB on PS2.
It was great meeting you and getting to hang out and chit chat on our way to that secret party! This was my first gaming convention and I am already planning for next year. Hope to see you in the future, bud!

Hi John, my wife and I were there. It was our first retro gaming expo. I think the highlight of the show for me was meeting and talking with you and sitting in on the UA-camrs panel. Thank you for taking the time to talk with us and we hope to see you at the next one.
phenomenal show. I probably saw you around about 800 times, but next year I hope we can meet and greet. I think I only did a quick pop in at Guys Games and Beer this time. lol
Looked like a fantastic show and a hell of a lot of fun thanks for the video and sharing a little piece of the show with us that Zelda display was amazing amongst all the other great displays.
Awesome stuff, man! Always love to see some Jaguar content and boy do I look forward to the re-release of Towers II. Will did an amazing job with the boxart for this (as he always does) and I am glad to see such a nice game released for the Jag's 30th anniversay. Can't wait to preorder it. Cheers!
Man I hope I get to go at some point there in my life haha. It's just a bit tough being in Canada and I don't have much saved to go to expos. The only one I'm going this year is the Calgary Expo April 27-30 as looking forward to that. Hope MGC gets added to that list at some point!
My favorite part of the MGC was when John Hancock cut ahead of me in line at the merch booth 🤣 Just kidding, it was cool that we got to chat for a minute. See you there next year!
Man you're blessed over in those states that you got all of those retro stores and conventions. Here in NY we get nothing that I know of except record fairs that I'm not into. Here in Rochester there used to be a local chain of retro stores called GameCraze but they closed doors like 4 years ago because according to the owner he wasn't making as much money as he wanted!😭 Anyway I love that you show your adventures in those conventions for us that can't go. Yeah that might be the best expo in the nation. Good showing and cool video John!👉😃👈

YES MGC 2023 was Great!! 👍🏼👍🏼 I wish I could’ve stayed longer but I had to leave Sunday 4pm. I saw a lot of great video games in the vendor hall. I wanted to BUY everything hehehe. Maybe next year I’ll do both Saturday and Sunday….. I didn’t see your vendor table John Hancock on Sunday?? I saw John Riggs table but he had like 5 people talking to him didn’t realize he was soooooo TALL…. Anyway I had a Great Time I’ve probably gone like 6 years in a row now it’s getting better every year 😊
Mgc is the best..it's so big I didn't even catch most youtubers! 4 pulp fiction pinball machines and catching up with hundreds of connections. Don't skip mgc two day passes or just going sunday can be a great deal
I agree. Portland is "home" but MGC is the best for so many reasons. Not a stab at any other con as they're all great, but this is the one to attend.
