I recently purchased a 2023 F-150 XLT Fx4 with the 5.0 engine and I'm really enjoying this truck. This is the first Ford I have ever owned and I went back and forth between the Silverado, Sierra, and Ram before making my decision. I plan to keep this truck for a long time and the Ford had all the features, comfortability, cab space, and power for my family's needs. Great job Ford!
@kevinthomson6324 I like the way the sport package looks especially the grill. I would've preferred the Sport but I got a good deal on the XLT with chrome package. I think Ford did a really good job with the design of these trucks
I bought a 2022 F150 Powerboost Larait…it now has 25k with zero issues. My last truck was a 2013 ecoboost Larait with zero issues. My 2022 rides so smooth and is so powerful with 475hp and almost 600t. Pulls my camper and dump trailer with ease. The best part of this truck is the onboard 7200 watt generator, it’s a game changer and I will keep this truck till the tires fall off.
I love my 2019 Ford loaded XLT. When I bought it new I thoroughly researched and comparison shopped between Ford, Toyota, GM and Ram. I felt the Ford was the best for multiple reasons. Now I'm in the market for a new one. Still leaning Ford but now towards the Lariat. Two factors are holding me back on 2025. Price, obviously, but I'm really disappointed the keypad is gone. I use mine on the daily. Dealer installed version looks cheap and don't necessarily want to add to a $100k vehicle. Hope Ford hears customer feedback and they change their minds halfway through the 2025 production. Keep up the great work fellas. Love the channel.
2016 Platinum with the eco boost. Only 72,000 miles. Just began hearing the cam phaser rattle. How is that not something that was handled via a class action lawsuit against FORD?
I’m almost 50 and I have had my 2015 ford f150 for a long time with the 3.5 ecoboost and I love the truck I have had many vehicles in my life and I can honestly tell people that my experience has been very good. Even my wife preferred to drive the truck that to drive her suv .
i like the tail gate , i have a 2023 f150 and we tow a camper all summer and there is no way to get into the bed of the truck unless i unhook the camper ...
I’m hoping the ridiculously high tow numbers reflect how much it is better\improved at towing 8k lbs than trucks with lower ridiculous tow numbers; for instance, divide the tow number by 8k to get the performance when towing 8k lbs: 14/8=1.75 tow performance 12/8=1.5 tow performance 9.5/8=1.188 tow performance Etc.
The F-150 went from my #1 pick to part of the pack. F-150 with HDPP was a very capable vehicle. HDPP stopped with '23, and now F-150 is not better/worse then some of their competitors. Would like to see an F-200 work truck build on the F-150+HDPP+MaxTow in RC to Crew configurations.
Good point on the tailgate for towing. However, I have always just setup my trailers to make sure i can open the gate.. personally haven't ran into a trailer yet where I can't do that..however maybe a tall deck over or something could be problematic. My Camper tongue is tall and it's CLOSE but does open
Never thought I'd end up owning an F-150 but this year the odds steered me towards getting a loaded '24 XLT 302A. I did a lot of research (as you should) and initially considered a Sierra Elevation but I can't find quite the overall unit that I want and also that $20k price difference. My objective was really just to upgrade my cargo space for our growing family and maybe give towing a try so I opted for the 2.7L Ecoboost. I'm at 7,000kms now and so far no complaints, very modern looking, very capable especially with our Canadian prarie winters. Ford had an early start on these Twin Turbo V6(2015) which gives them an edge compared to other companies also while still offering the Coyote V8s. However, all modern V8s are getting complicated because of cylinder deactivation systems so keep an eye on that.
I wish that they wouldnt load up base models. Ford really showed their colors when they discontinued the base model bronco because it was taking away sales from the bloated models. I guess the only thing to do is restore an obs truck to get something worth the money.
I have a 2023 F150 with the STX package and it’s a good truck but the driver’s seat needs up and down adjustability even if it’s manually operated. Plus the 2.7 motor has a flat spot in the power band that needs fixed.
I love my 2020 F-150 XLT FX4 5.0. I will say, though, that there is just no value proposition for me to upgrade to a new one, given the exploding prices. And that's not a problem unique to Ford, that's an industry issue. I can upgrade my terrible halogen headlights to Morimoto XB Hybrids for under $1,000, and I'd like to add a small leveling kit and Raptor running boards. The only other feature I'd want and can't upgrade to, is the 4-auto; Ford is so stingy with that, putting it only on Lariat or higher. But to me it's not enough to make me spend tens of thousands more to update.
I got the 2020 f 150 as well. Xtr, fx4 package 5.0 v8 With the Morimoto headlights, amber daytime running lights. Have these lights for a year now. They are awesome. Go for it!
I would like to have a new F-150 with a standard cab and the 5.0. Only options I want is cruise and A/C. This is still 45K in today's market which is crazy. I have a crew cab now and I just don't like how long it is, plus it has so many things that I just don't use or like. The two worst things are the leather seats and the tailgate dampener.
Ford is the best all around truck in my opinion. You have better engine options, compared to the competition. Changing the configurations options was smart on Fords move. I wish that we still could get leather in the Lariat, but the majority of buyers can’t tell a difference. No truck is perfect, but after driving hundreds, I stand by the F-150 is the best all around truck. Ford has all continued to improve the ecoboost motors also. Toyota has had far more issues with the new generation Tundra and Tacoma. Ford may not be perfect, but it is a reliable truck- with any of the engines and options.
I like it for the ability to get up next to the bed. the tail gate is in the way when loading or unloading. For us shorter guys, yes its helpful. Grabbing a bag of 80lbs bag of concrete loading or unloanding, it makes a big difference. I dont even like the bumper in the way. I just don’t understand y they cant offer it on the lower trims. Stupid

@@SpeedisSpeed You used to be able to build out a Ford with any option imaginable. Now they have a few trims to pick from and give you zero options compared to a couple of years ago. Considerably cheaper for them to build them that way, considerably more expensive for the customer who is forced to pay for options they don't want. It's truly a race to the bottom these days and even Toyota has joined the party.
The tech package is definitely upgraded. I’ve owned a 2022 and 2024 and I prefer the new one for sure. The bigger screen on the STX and digital dash have been great.

Like all the gimmick tailgates it's a gimmick and you really have to stretch to find it useful. Ram's is particularly worthless and ugly but this is a close second. Adds weight to trucks that already don't have any payload. Just give me a regular dampened tailgate and let it barn door swing like a Honda Ridgeline. Simple and useful. How about instead of worthless gimmicks these manufacturers deliver excellence since they want to charge so much for trash.

@ yeah I drive roughly 260 miles per day delivering parts to paint and body shops in the west Texas area and sometimes I might have to tow a trailer because the parts can be quite large and bulky once or twice a week but oftentimes it’s just put it in my truck and go sure enough I get 14mpg but I’ll take the reliability of the gasser over the quirks of the diesel

@ I’ve owned a 2003 F250 gas, 2004 F250 6.0 diesel, 2006 GMC 2500 6.6 Duramax, and a 2012 F150 supercrew with a 5.0. I currently own a 2025 Honda Ridgeline and granted, it does not have the capability of body on frame trucks, but it’s perfect for homeowner DIY projects. My travel trailer towing days are over, and now it’s nice to have a super comfortable daily driver that gets 19 city and 25 highway. The AWD drive with torque vectoring is awesome, and because there’s virtually no body roll, this little truck is fun to drive on twisty mountain roads. If my wife didn’t have hip issues, my first pick for a smaller truck was the new Ranger Raptor, but after taking a test drive in the Ridgeline, we were sold. It’s very spacious, quiet and smooth driving overall. Do yourself a favor, and just for fun, go drive one sometime and you’ll see why the Ridgeline has a cult like following. Happy New Year!

I am a Ford person. I hate the fact that Ford took away my ability to build my truck. I do not sell my truck every five years. This is one vehicle I intend to keep for a long time. For instance, I love the King Ranch interior. But, with this build, you can not get a v eight. You can not have a six and half foot bed. You have to have the ugly stripe with your paint job. I wanted all one color. What is the purpose of the stripe. Is it to let the car thieves know I have a king Ranch? Let's steal that truck. I love my big mirrors on my F250. As far as I know, I can order them with the tow package on the F150. I will do that. Thanks for letting me vent. The bottom line is that I do not think it is a good thing to take away so many things from us when it comes to buying a truck.

My wife and I bought a F-150 Lariat in 2020 for just under $50K USD. Your point that not much has changed with the refresh is true. Today, we can't touch a Lariat F-150 for less than $65K USD. We REFUSE to underwrite EV stupidity. Brussels, China, the EPA, and Bidenflaion have crushed our legacy car makers.

The recall seems to pertain to Super Duty with the 6.7 diesel.

Honda Ridgeline. Imma get flack for it. But the ridgeline is probably the most reliable out of any mini truck, light duty or heavy duty.

@ALMX5DP this is what happens when a consumer buys a lot of vehicles for work purposes. You end up with someone who has a lot of first hand experience and learns the good and bad with all these vehicles.
My wife and I bought a F-150 Lariat in 2020 for just under $50K USD. Your point that not much has changed with the refresh is true. Today, we can't touch a Lariat F-150 for less than $65K USD. We REFUSE to underwrite EV stupidity. Brussels, China, the EPA, and Bidenflaion have crushed our legacy car makers.

Your bias towards Ford products really show. Maybe mention the 28 recalls, engine failures, brakes locking up, etc etc etc. Bias in your business is never a good thing, we depend on the truth. TOTY I think not.
