    For those who dont understand; the ratio of miles per hour to kilometers per hour is 1 mile=1.6 kilometers. By riding 29 inch wheels and having the speed sensor think it is an 18 inch wheel the ratio is 29/18 or 1.6. Therefore the spedometer is showing KMH in the equiavalence of MPH. This works because the speedsensor works on wheel diameter. If the wheel diameter is smaller, then the wheel will need to turn faster to go the same linear speed as a big wheel. An 18 inch wheel is 1.6 times smaller than a 29 inch wheel and 1 km is 1.6 times smaller than a mile. By changing both parameters on the e-bike computer, it is still showing MPH equivalence. Simply put, this guy is brilliant!!!! Thanks for sharing this tip!

      @@_el.guapo_ I think they mean they programed their controller and then also set the limit on advanced settings of the display.
      I've got the 850C display and my speed limit is 99 I think.
      The only reference to speed limit on the software is the throttle limit.
      There are also 9 assist levels in the software not 5 the OP mentioned (although maybe OP means levels 1,3,5,7,9 if they only have 5 levels on their display)

    • @_el.guapo_
      @_el.guapo_ 2 роки тому +1

      @@mixerfistit5522 I believe you can set a speed limit up to 99kph from the C500 display. But there is a speed limit parameter in the interface of the software (which you can connect with the USB cable) too which can be set up to 40kph. So I'm wondering does the display speed limit setting override the software speed limit setting? Anyway the wheel size trick would do.

    There was no limiter on my bbs02b no matter what speed limit i set. I just set it to 99k originally so it was out of the way but even setting to 25k or lower nothing happened.
    As you have an 11 tooth the 48 or 46 tooth chainring will get you similar top speed and the 40 cassette will still climb well.

      at the Moment his Bike has a 40t for now. but I'm thinking of putting a 34t for when he wants to go mountain biking in the hills with me. and yes I have thought of that with the smaller chain rings interfering with the Spider.. but my problem is that the chainring its self rubs the gear cover of the Mid drive system/bbs02 and I had to use shims/washers on the 5 4mm bolts that mount the chainring on to the bbs02

    • @FastJohnny80
      @FastJohnny80  6 років тому +2

      Vegan Mountain Goat Oh ya I had to use those too. Forgot all about that. 2 little washers on each bolt. You can bolt the chainring to the outside of the spider to get rid of that issue, but bolt spacers give you the better chain line. Another trick you can do is bolt a 32 on the inside and a 40 on the outside. Then bolt the 3 speed front derailleur back on and set it up to shift between 2 & 3, and lock out 1st with the low limit screw. Then you have road and trail gears up front.

      The computer knows how many times a certain rim size needs to be spun in order to reach a certain mph. Smaller rims need to spin faster to reach the same mph of a larger rim. If you lie about your rim size then it will think your rim is small and need to be spun faster to reach the mph. You use the ratio offset of mph to kph only because you can take advantage of the kmh settings in the display. You just have to find the right sized wheel that will accommodate that difference. Kmh is .62 higher than mph, so lie to the computer and tell it that you need a .62 head-start, and you lie by putting in a smaller wheel size. Example for determining your new wheel setting:
      NewRimSize = (30MPH * OrigRimSize) / 48.28032km.

    Apparently this will go twice as far as a hub wheel motor on the same battery : )

    • @SKBKER
      @SKBKER 7 років тому

      With far less torque . I had a Bafang and a hub motor (made by Cute - I know it's a stupid name) and the Cute had far more torque . With mid drive you can mess with the chainrings to get better acceleration or higher speeds etc but you cannot beat a hub motor for torque . When I say hub motor I mean rear drive not front drive . I ended up ditching the Bafang .

    • @warlockboyburns

    • @SKBKER
      @SKBKER 7 років тому

      But that is my point . Both my Bafang and hub motors were 750W . The hub motor was far more powerful .

    Changing the tire size on the dashboard does nothing to your speed, its just thinking about the wheel spinning, theres a difference between your rim spinning an actual movement speed, your dashboard can say you are going 30 mph, but if you use a GPS on your phone, the gps could say 50 mph because its an object moving forward, not a spinning rim which makes no distance,

  • @fasthead

    Now you're display won't be showing the correct speed, Mileage Done & all the other things that the Display is for. 20 miles an hour is fast enough for a road bike, if you want too go faster just buy a motor cycle, I bought the BBS02 500W Kit with a 36V 15AH Battery & put it onto my Carerra Subway, I went out yesterday for the first time & i am satisfied with the way it performed, it don't half make you Grin as well, A lot more easier than pedaling like crazy & breaking into a sweat.
