Actual question for people at Weird History, you realize history isn’t just America and Europe during medieval/dark ages time.... go out venture into Africa-ottoman empire, Western Africa, the Congo, Australia etc
Most History channels have a tendency to do this, also most African history pre-scramble is largely lost due to the loss of ancient oral traditions. Which is honestly a shame because most archeological evidence indicates pre-scramble Africa was more technologically and culturally advanced than originally thought.

He dropped out of my Alma mater Boston Latin School, the oldest school in America for which Harvard University was originally founded one year later in 1636 to receive Boston Latin School’s first graduating class. We Boston Latin School alumni/alumnae, we always pride ourselves in having Benjamin Franklin as its famous dropout.
Thanks for all the info and the excellent research! Was he actually mentioning germs back in the 18th century as the origin of diseases? Isn't Pasteur credited for that a hundred years later? I know of a couple of works by Mozart written for glass harmonica, but none by Beethoven (they were not really contemporaries.) Much later, though, Donizetti scored the Mad Scene of his opera 'Lucia di Lammermoor for glass harmonica to depict the character's lunacy, but nowadays it is unfortunately replaced by a flute.
There is no modern version of Ben Franklin. He invented many things for the pure joy of doing it. Today's great inventors make one thing, cash in and then focus on their business and making money - Sergei Brin, Bill Gates, Elon Musk.
Today we live in such a highly specialized world, that I’d find it impossible for anther human being to be such a fountainhead of ingenuity on all things like Franklin during his time.
Always heard he greatly improved the wood burning stove because he hated the cold. He refused to secure a patent in it. He did not want to profit on something that made people comfortable.
While in downtown Philly we would walk by his grave and throw pennies on it. Located around 4th st. & Race street and only a few blocks from the Ben Franklin bridge going over the Delaware river to New Jersey. As a kid we would spend all day at the Franklin Institue. Has a old steam train engine that moves several feet.
Ben in his day was one of the world's greatest scientists, inventors, philanthropists, authors, revolutionaries and ambassadors. A serious player with the ladies. Great charmer and fashion trend setter. Nobody even today can touch that.
If you've read or listened to his autobiography, you'll also realize how humble and self-aware the man was. He would admit his moments of vanity and would place the majoirty of his efforts on being a decent person. Because of his hard childhood and arriving at philadelphia with nothing, he came off as a really down to earth man.

This was definitely an interesting video; I love obscure facts like these. It's a pity you didn't have someone proofread your copy and correct the misspelling of "flatulence." (You spelled it "flatulance".)
Actual question for people at Weird History, you realize history isn’t just America and Europe during medieval/dark ages time.... go out venture into Africa-ottoman empire, Western Africa, the Congo, Australia etc
I think they've done that no?
Thanks for commenting what I be thinking...
Their history is!
Most History channels have a tendency to do this, also most African history pre-scramble is largely lost due to the loss of ancient oral traditions. Which is honestly a shame because most archeological evidence indicates pre-scramble Africa was more technologically and culturally advanced than originally thought.
@@zenoblues7787 what was the scramble?

Homework.
Fox and hare.
Fox with her cubs lived in a forest. Fox went to hunt. Hare was relaxing under a bush. Fox noticed the hare. She chased him. The hare managed to escape from the fox.

I agree with Ben, dating older women are the best specially those who are already in their 70's and 80's and are filthy rich

Never knew he could be so interesting.... Must have been real charmer 😚
He he he... Maybe. 😉

A genius for sure and eccentric. My ancestor on my Mom’s side/his mothers side, Abiah “Folger” of Nantucket.

I like the quotes made by Benjamin Franklin
Thanks for all the info and the excellent research! Was he actually mentioning germs back in the 18th century as the origin of diseases? Isn't Pasteur credited for that a hundred years later? I know of a couple of works by Mozart written for glass harmonica, but none by Beethoven (they were not really contemporaries.) Much later, though, Donizetti scored the Mad Scene of his opera 'Lucia di Lammermoor for glass harmonica to depict the character's lunacy, but nowadays it is unfortunately replaced by a flute.
Hello Laura! How are you doing? I hope you are fine and staying safe?
Glass harmonicas were replaced by keyboards that could make a similar sound. They're still popular on digital keyboards. I love the sound.
I knew most of this stuff, but the catheters 😎 Franklin was more flexible than I thought
Ba dum tiss!
I'm in love with Benjamin Franklin
There is no modern version of Ben Franklin. He invented many things for the pure joy of doing it.
Today's great inventors make one thing, cash in and then focus on their business and making money - Sergei Brin, Bill Gates, Elon Musk.
I swear I hope alot of kids watch this channel so much knowledge you put down on each subject
5:45 Why because hes a cougar lover!
I just imaging ben now as one of those guys who go to Miami to dance with all the retired ladies vacationing there.
Today we live in such a highly specialized world, that I’d find it impossible for anther human being to be such a fountainhead of ingenuity on all things like Franklin during his time.

And by far the most important of his inventions. The wood stove. What a dude
Have you done a video on Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla???? Would LOVE to see that!
We've got one on Tesla
Weird History aweosme!!!! I’m going to go watch it now! Thanksss!!!! 😁
If you've read or listened to his autobiography, you'll also realize how humble and self-aware the man was. He would admit his moments of vanity and would place the majoirty of his efforts on being a decent person. Because of his hard childhood and arriving at philadelphia with nothing, he came off as a really down to earth man.
