@@GlueGunsRoses I actually coil my lights around my hand starting from the female end as the center 1st, then use the male end that goes into the wall & the long lead to wrap around the whole bunch, which gives me a tidy little bundle. Next year when it's time to hang them on a tree or building, they're supper easy to work with bc they're in a small bundle that's easily managed! Been doing this for 20+ years... never tangled once bc you plug-in & unwrap as you hang! I plug them in & check each blub as I coil them up, so there's never any prep work next year either. A little work after Christmas this year makes next holiday season pain FREE!
@@leahrowe847 so true. The past few years I have put more time in to organizing while packing away Christmas decor and it makes it 100× easier the following year. It also makes decorating for the next year easier and more enjoyable in my opinion. I'm not sure that will work for my outdoor lights, but I may try your way on the kids Christmas tree lights and see how that works. It sounds faster and easier than my way.
I LOVE her! On bad pain days I watch Meghan’s amazing crafting videos before bed and she relaxes me to sleep. I’ve rewatched so many as I’ve seen all of them😂 her ideas are so clever!
Okay, this is my opinion and it’s just that-mine. I don’t like using the thumbs down button unless someone is blatantly stealing somebody else’s video. I give kudos to everyone who makes these videos and shares them. They are usually creative and helpful. They’re not always my taste but that doesn’t matter. I personally could never do this because I am not creative enough and I’m not a big fan of my voice! So, if you’re working hard and putting out good content, like Megan does, I’ll give a thumbs up because I appreciate the effort and the fact that you’re sharing! Okay, I’m stepping off my soap box!
Exactly my thoughts! I can be a little creative, but, hey, if it is shared on here, they want you to be able to use their tips! No thumbs down people! A for effort!
I’m with you there. I treat the buttons like the saying, “if you’ve nothing nice to say, remain silent!” Unless someone has stolen a video, that is rude!
I know all You Tubers get paid to do what they love/enjoy and I’m so glad for them. But Megan, I hope you know what an absolute treasure your personality and sweetness are to us and I hope you revel in it!
Megan, I have to tell you that because you shared the paper towel holder to store your wreaths, I of course started doing that. But it also inspired me for other storage. I hang the paper towel holder just like you showed, then I store my floral picks in the slots. So I want to thank you for the inspiration!!! I find myself wondering what else can I store this way!! You’re the best
I just LOVE your ideas. I love how you say "Hey its Meghan" at the beginning of every episode. AND the "million and five" (things, pieces, times, ways...) I just wanted to say I love how you are concise and quick, your videos are informative, fun and always real. I don't know I was just feeling the love this morning and wanted to share - oh and I am getting the racks to hold wrapping paper over the door!!! Thanks
Great ideas! Another idea my folks used was getting a round flip-top garbage can for the garage and storing Christmas lights in plastic grocery bags stacked by color. So easy and it took less than an hour to take down and store everything. They hang their tall, flat decor on the garage ceiling.

Hey Megan! LOVE all your videos, always interesting and fun. As you requested, we use pool noodles for all of our extension cords. They are easy to write on with magic markers and can be stacked either vertically or horizontally. Christmas blessings to you and everyone XO
I love the scarves and the wrapping organisation. My craft room is a total disaster right now and I really need to get time to sort through it. Been trying to plan out how to arrange things and organise them better, so I really appreciate this video. Seasons greetings to you xx
I had my husband use an old closet wood rod and closet dowel rod holders in the attic between the wood holding up the roof to hang all my wreaths. I just hang the wreath on a hanger and poke a hole a thru a plastic bag and put it over the wreath and done. So i grab the one I will use and the rest stay up there and put the way. Btw my house looks identical to yours but I have 7 front windows and my door and they all have wreaths lol so had to get the wreaths In The attic organized and not smashed together.
For years I've used the cardboard flat and wrapped lights from end to end and lay them flat in a storage container. Or I coil them and put them in the large popcorn tins that we get frequently. The tins are such pretty storage, you can even use the tins for tree decorations or other home decor.
@@SouthernMama2five I am too. Very visual, but multiple clear bins with lids don't work well for me even though one large bin with multiple clear bags do. I'll be going to dollar tree tomorrow to buy racks for above the closet door storage! And as I have a bit of a ribbon problem, I know just what to put up there!
You have the BEST & MOST relevent storage and organizing ideas for after Christmas!!! I love, love, love your Dollar tree organizational ideas!!!They can even be used for other items!!! I have 2 huge Tupperware tubs full of different, unbreakable Christmas balls and the like. I have had the tubs for years. First they went in the attic. Now they are in the basement. When I started decorating, I had 2 kids 6 years apart. We lived in the country and there was no such thing as a Dollar tree, I guess that tells you how old I am! Now, I want to share a Christmas story! All the balls used to go into 1 tub. Then 2 1/2 years ago I got this great idea of an arch of Christmas ornaments over my livingroom door trim from Pintrest. They were beautiful! What I didn't realize is my arch was about 6' across and 6' high. The ones on Pintrest were for regular size doors! I made the arch about 6' across and about 2/3 of the way down on each side. Oops! Not enough balls. Had to buy more. I also used some other small ornaments like small "Joy" and "Peace" and others. And I still had enough other ornaments for a pencil tree! I really need to weed through my decorations and find them new homes. IT WOULD BE GREAT if you did a whole house organizational video!! If you have, I will go through all the organizational videos you've made. This is the first season I realized there are videos for everything I'm interested in on UA-cam.!!! Thanks again, Liz B.
I just found your channel this fall and you are my favorite! I love your style and I love how you get to the point in your videos! I have made so many of your DIYs for Christmas this year! Thank you for all your inspiration and tricks and tips!!
I store my ribbon like this. I have to say- use a larger diameter dowel for the bigger rolls- you guessed it SNAP! I am going to put a clear shower curtain around it to help with the dust.
Yes! I started doing this after watching some videos several years ago of professionals that light commercial centers. The ball trick is how they ALL keep their lights from tangling and also makes them easy to handle when decorating.

I watch a lot of organization videos and they're pretty much the same, "use bins", "label everything", "use vertical space". But I have to say this video gave me some new ideas I hadn't seen before and I've actually used some to sort out my craft closet. I wanted to send pictures but I guess there isn't a way to do that, but I used hanging baskets on S hooks, the bent cupboard shelf to hold rolls of paper, and the bent paper towel holder for wreath forms. Love seeing some original ideas. Thanks so much and keep them coming!

Hey, Megan! I'm new to your channel, (& newly subscribed, of course). Anyway, you asked for Hacks, I could go on for hours, but I'll just leave a couple of quick tid-bits. #1. Trying to get rid of sticky residues? BABY/ANY TYPE OF OIL. (YES! Even cooking oil!) Use a small amount of whatever oil, rub it on the sticky spot w/a tissue. Then, either wash the item in the sink, w/Dawn, OR just use another tissue to wipe away the excess oil. (Especially, glassware! You really don't want it slippery.) #2. Flowers, to keep them smelling/looking beautiful for a few days longer. So they don't start drooping, & fading away a few hours after you get them. First, cut the stems diagonally, & place them into a vase w/room temperature water, & 2 aspirin. (My flowers usually last 2-3weeks.) Hope these are helpful.
I do a similar thing with my Christmas lights. The only difference is mine are triangular. I did cut a slit to hold the light but ended up using one of those black clips to hold my first strand and last ones on them and then they go in my light box! Never thought to "nest" them. I loved your video.
I actually coil my lights around my hand starting from the female end as the center 1st, then use the male end that goes into the wall & the long lead to wrap around the whole bunch, which gives me a tidy little bundle. Next year when it's time to hang them on a tree or building, they're supper easy to work with bc they're in a small bundle that's easily managed! Always great ideas! Loved the over the door storage idea using wasted space. I look forward to all your videos. I have covid and I'm quarantined, so hearing your accent and watching your videos makes me feel not so sick! Thank you so much for all you put into your videos. 😷
I use dollar tree zip ties to wrangle my Christmas lights. I also use them to attach my garland and lights to the front porch railing. I keep multiple sizes in the junk drawer
I’m a new subscriber. I love your style! I’ve used dollar store bungee cords 3 in a pack to hang rolls of tape and to hang a roll of paper towels. They just smell like burnt rubber when you open the pack so you need to air them out a bit.
WAIT...WAIT...WAAAAAIT !!!! Was that a dab of hot glue holding the lights straight and still on the brick!?!?! YOU ARE A GENIUS !!!!👏👏👏👏👏 also these storage ideas are great! You're on fire with this!!🔥🔥🔥
I was thinking for your Ribbon storage on the dowel rod, maybe you could add a binder clip on each end and just hang the dowel up using the binder clips. The clips would also help keep the ribbon on the rod.
And I was thinking that was one of the things that makes the broom handle a great thing - already has a hole or a loop (depending on the type) at the top for hanging. If it’s wooden and too long, you could cut it down a bit and hot glue a kids ball, etc in the bottom or drill a pilot hole in the end and screw in a large knob.
Hmm....I wonder if the broom handles would actually fit on the rubber plunger bottoms? Then that would allow you to stand it up in the corner and eliminate the need for the tape..... just a thought. :) Love all your ideas, Megan! Thanks for sharing!!!
I scored 18 AND 30 gallon RED TUBS WITH LIDS, last Saturday at Dollar General because I had a $5 off coupon when you spend $25 at Dollar General (coupon reflected that Saturday only) therefore I actually scored big time EXACTLY what I had been seeking ---red bins with matching lids.
I use rolled up newspapers or rolled magazine to put my Christmas lights on. Been using same papers for years. 🎄☃️🎁❄️. Love all the hacks. 💚. The above door storage is genius. 👍🏼
Wow!!! Over the door storage with the dish racks, what a great idea. But, my favorite is using the large storage bags to divide your decor into categories. This will make pulling everything out so much easier next year!
I have a clear cylindrical bag that I use to corral my wrapping paper rolls and store them under the bed since I don't have a lot of closet space, but you have amazing ideas. I use your paper towel holder hack for wreaths, and it's holding up quite well!
The last two years I have been trying to organize my tubs but I REALLY like the way you used the storage bags, might completely ditch some "ornament" tubs this year or leave 1 for just extremely fragile ones.
Love the above the door wrap hack. I always stored them in an oversized shopping bag in the corner of the closet. Not great storage & they would tend to tip over. Thanks!!

We have a small bathroom - so above the door I put a narrow shelf (1x4" or 6") above the door for TP storage! Above the door storage is great! Also the big bin is what we have as a toy box 🤣 for toy rotation
Need the cabinet lock for one of my fish tank stands. Cats open the doors and sometimes unplug the tank. They manage to open the doors but cant push them open to get out and get stuck in there😂
I was just about to buy something to store my gift wrap then I saw this video! I have the dish rack from DT so I’m going to try that! Thank you for all of your great ideas! Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks for sharing all of these HACKS! I am excited to try the DT storage bags for my ornaments, maybe I'll actually be able to mine separated and organized for an easier use in the future 🤔
You got your thinking cap on! Great tips, thanks so much. ? why do folks give thumbs down? Especially if they don’t comment about it?! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁❄️🎅🏼😻
I put the string lights around our used gift wrap rolls. I also just cut a little slit in each end and tuck the end of the lights into that slit to find where they start and end. It also helps to check to make sure they work and no bulbs are blown before I hang or use them. Also, Costco sells those same exact black and yellow totes for $9 and I know they go on sale for $7 around the holidays. It's such a fantastic deal! I absolutely love them! My garage and basement are filled with them. I'm definitely going to look for those storage bags for the totes though, I think that's another great idea! I love your ideas! 🎄🎁☃️

Yes! Works really well if you wrap them by feeding them lengthwise through the tube so they look like stripes running the length of the tube then secure the ends with binder clips. They absolutely cannot tangle this way and you can get a lot of lights on one (not the super skinny tubes).

You've done it again! I absolutely love these storage hacks! All of your ideas are wonderful and I always anticipate your next video. Santa Claus is the embodiment of the spirit of giving, and you give to us in every video. Thank you Santa 😉 for sharing. I appreciate you. Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄
I love the idea hanging the seasonal wreaths on the wall for easy access throughout the year. Thank you!
Great ideas! Love the above the door idea one especially. Thanks for sharing!
Been doing this for 20+ years... never tangled once bc you plug-in & unwrap as you hang!
I plug them in & check each blub as I coil them up, so there's never any prep work next year either. A little work after Christmas this year makes next holiday season pain FREE!
Always great ideas! Loved the over the door storage idea using wasted space. I look forward to all your videos. I have covid and I'm quarantined, so hearing your accent and watching your videos makes me feel not so sick! Thank you so much for all you put into your videos. 😷
Hope you have a swift and uneventful recovery! 💕
I hope you're feeling better real soon Catherine so you can have a wonderful Christmas & a healthy New Year 😍🙏🏻

So glad to hear it! Merry Christmas to you as well! 💚❤️💚
Above the closet door. LIFE CHAGING.👏👏👏
I use dollar tree zip ties to wrangle my Christmas lights. I also use them to attach my garland and lights to the front porch railing. I keep multiple sizes in the junk drawer
Same!
Great ideas. I love the wrapping paper storage. I could do that on the back of a door for my vinyl and mesh rolls. Thank you for sharing.
I’m a new subscriber. I love your style!
I’ve used dollar store bungee cords 3 in a pack to hang rolls of tape and to hang a roll of paper towels. They just smell like burnt rubber when you open the pack so you need to air them out a bit.
Megan you are the best!! I absolutely love all of your ideas! Very practical, relatable and affordable! Love your channel!
WAIT...WAIT...WAAAAAIT !!!! Was that a dab of hot glue holding the lights straight and still on the brick!?!?! YOU ARE A GENIUS !!!!👏👏👏👏👏 also these storage ideas are great! You're on fire with this!!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for bringing great content all the time , God bless you 🌲💜❄️💕💓😻❤️⛄️
I already liked you video and if I could like ten thousand times I would! I’m a fan of yours, keep the videos coming my friend!
Just to let the public know, those black boxes with the yellow lids are $9.00 at Costco and they put them on sale often for $7. Great deal!
I really need to get a Costco membership! I hear about so many great deals there 😯
I scored 18 AND 30 gallon RED TUBS WITH LIDS, last Saturday at Dollar General because I had a $5 off coupon when you spend $25 at Dollar General (coupon reflected that Saturday only) therefore I actually scored big time EXACTLY what I had been seeking ---red bins with matching lids.
You’re simply genius and I love all of your idea’s sweetie I definitely need some organizing ideas thank you so much !!! 😊💕
I use rolled up newspapers or rolled magazine to put my Christmas lights on. Been using same papers for years. 🎄☃️🎁❄️. Love all the hacks. 💚. The above door storage is genius. 👍🏼
HI Megan! I loved all of the hacks!! Time is coming really quick where this video is going to be a life/space saver. Thank you!
Wow!!! Over the door storage with the dish racks, what a great idea. But, my favorite is using the large storage bags to divide your decor into categories. This will make pulling everything out so much easier next year!
Thanks for giving me a heads up on after Christmas organizing. I’ve got a lot of stuff! And you sure make it look easy to store 😊 Thanks 👍🏻
This ALMOST makes me look forward to packing-up my Christmas decorations! Great ideas!
Almost 😉
I have a clear cylindrical bag that I use to corral my wrapping paper rolls and store them under the bed since I don't have a lot of closet space, but you have amazing ideas. I use your paper towel holder hack for wreaths, and it's holding up quite well!
The last two years I have been trying to organize my tubs but I REALLY like the way you used the storage bags, might completely ditch some "ornament" tubs this year or leave 1 for just extremely fragile ones.
Thank You for sharing 😊. Always looking for good storage/organization ideas. Keep them coming and I will continue to use!!!
That’s a lot of great storage ideas. Thank you for sharing and have a blessed evening. 😘❤️🤗🙏🏻✝️✨🎄🦌🎁🛷🎶🤶🏼☃️🔔🎅🏻🕯⭐️⛄️

Love the above the door wrap hack. I always stored them in an oversized shopping bag in the corner of the closet. Not great storage & they would tend to tip over. Thanks!!
The xmas light storage is awesome, I definitely will be trying this. I love the dowel for the ribbon🙃

They manage to open the doors but cant push them open to get out and get stuck in there😂
Super hacks had to watch twice to rite things down thanks 😊 Merry Christmas 🎄
I was just about to buy something to store my gift wrap then I saw this video! I have the dish rack from DT so I’m going to try that! Thank you for all of your great ideas! Merry Christmas 🎄
Excellent ideas! Another thing I like to use to store stuff is the clear zippered bags that sheets and comforters come in!
Thanks for sharing all of these HACKS! I am excited to try the DT storage bags for my ornaments, maybe I'll actually be able to mine separated and organized for an easier use in the future 🤔
My first time watching you was an organization video. I've been glued ever since. Ha ha 😅
DUH with the storage above the door! I’m with you that I never thought of that before and it’s freaking genius 😂
You’re always full of great ideas , I used your gift wrapping and wreath hanging hacks and they are awesome 😎 thanks
You got your thinking cap on! Great tips, thanks so much. ? why do folks give thumbs down? Especially if they don’t comment about it?! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁❄️🎅🏼😻
These ideas are great. I will have to definitely try them. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!🎄
Best organization vid I’ve seen for Christmas storage! Brilliant, you’re simply brilliant! Thank you!!!! 🥳
Great ideas I don’t have any storage in our house it’s a 1958 house in TX.
Awesome ideas for storing the ribbons, wrapping paper and wreaths!
Love these ideas....going to head out to dollar tree this am to grab a couple dish racks to organize my vinyl....thank you!

I also keep the empty wrapping paper tubes to wrap lights on 😉
Yes! Works really well if you wrap them by feeding them lengthwise through the tube so they look like stripes running the length of the tube then secure the ends with binder clips. They absolutely cannot tangle this way and you can get a lot of lights on one (not the super skinny tubes).

Thnak you for the plastic bag idea. I keep my decorations in a tote but they were just all in there. I found a bunch of bags I have around the house and have designated them for ornaments. Great video very informative.
Thanks for the great ideas! I'm sure a lot of folks will be using these tricks. I hope you and your family have o wonderful holiday season. Take care.
I love them all especially the light hack!! Mine always tangle.
