Only just built has 1150 at the wheels and valued at almost 500k 🤣 I had some right to take it a little easy.. but yeh as I drove it more definitely got more confident pressing the pedal 👍
Ill never forget Paul Walker was here and appeared on the Rove live show doing the promo tour for '2 Fast 2 Furious' and they cut to him on the outside of the docklands studio in a borrowed Bayside blue R34 GTR, he then proceeded to do a full boar launch with all four wheels smoking off the line. I can still picture him with a glint in his eye, saying ''ready?'' to the cameraman, then dialing up bulk revs and sidestepping the clutch! was a sight to behold and you could tell he was the real deal! Sadly Ive never been able to find the footage.
He was an icon him self.. very much was the real deal and so sad we don’t have hits like that anymore.. the old F&F was something else

Love these. Was at a show last year, 15 odd Lambos and a about 100 other cars, and two R34s. One had been kissed by the HP angels the other stock. Spent so long looking at them, nothing else came close. Shame but I am a bit too old to be driving one....

Fantastic video brother. Your a true gentleman the wat you handled this review with such a sick car. Met a very good middle ground imo of respecting the car and the owner by giving it enough of a press where we could see the immense power and performance capabilities while at the same time still beeing fully respectful to owner.

That’s an amazing machine, and it will still be amazing in a million years. An awesome review of the scary Godzilla. I actually chose to buy an FPV F6 over one of these back when they were a similar price, then I bought an R35 GTR when the R34 was cheaper, but every time I see an R34 now they just look better and better. On a side note, It just goes to show how much easier automatic cars are to launch. Especially with launch control.

Insane stuff! Haven’t even turned the boost all the way yet.. only 30lb has the capability apparently for 1500hp

Not sure I'd have stuck with a 2.6L if wanting 1000hp+, thats a lot of lag. Proven by the very slow 0-100 times unless you leave the line with the engine screaming.

They’re much lighter and AWD, Falcons and Commodores are quite heavy
yeah I'm well aware of this aware of this awd plus technology makes them totally different. I think the 34 is still 1500 odd kgs though. The noises this thing makes is amazing could listen to it all day!!

Big turbo on a 2.6, in a manual with triple plate clutch are pretty much impossible to get a decent time when being reasonable and mechanically sympathetic. You really need to thrash it. But as you can all see - still difficult to get a decent launch. Have eaten a bunch of these in an RS3 because of a manual handicap

Automatic is the real handicap considering fun factor. A guy enjoying a six speed high hp car is surely having a better time than a DCT owner

Definitely would have to red line this car off the line to get any decent launch and that was to much to ask from me.. awesome roll race car & cruiser tho.. the AWD definitely helps make it feel safer on the road
No offense, but there are near 2000 hp r34s and r32s out there mate, there's a couple stroked rd28s with rb26 heads making more

Pros: It looks aggressive. Cons: What's the point coughing out 1/2 million bucks not being able to accelerate faster than say type R civic or golf. By the time the hot hatches and this GTR reach the max. speed limit (75 mph) then you can't accelerate anymore. Not sure what limit is in Australia. 100K makes sense, 200K questionable, 1/2million bucks? Buy the golf or civic R for $50K and save the rest. That's my opinion though. GTR fans may disagree.
Can’t compare this to a hatch bro.. once you experience it you begin to understand the price.. yes it’s stupid money but this car gets more attention than Supercars and that’s not an understatement.. you pay the money because people love it
Biggest thing is it goes up in value. They were 80 grand a few years ago.
You can see the difference in cars when they all line up together. The GTR costs the money because it’s “ that “ car.
Half a million to some, is 20k to others. Depends where you’re at, what your dream car is.
To me it’s a 150k car, but you can’t buy one like this for that money.

rb26's are meant to be peaky, they want to make all the power up top and hand it to you all at once. Its their happy place :) Hopefully we start to see some more keys to gtr's being handed over to you instead of barras all the time

Motive Video runs GTR fest. Best of the best GTRs attend this event. This year stock block 2.6 class was won at 789hp. Not even close to stroked engines, but stock crank stock block this car is it. No nitrous either.
I know the car and it’s on low boost for the hp. Can turn it up to 50lbs if needed, but it’s crazy as it is at 36lbs

I own a supra Barras don't rate when the big JDM stuff comes out.if you look at it the king 6 2iz then rb then BMW then Mercedes then maybe barra.no your place
IMO this feels tamer than a similar powered barra as it should tho AWD and only a 2.6 not a 4.0... rolling power tho feels comparable but they both drive so different honestly

A similar powered Barra would be maybe 100k so definitely better value but somethings you just can’t replicate & that’s the feeling of driving this R34 and seeing how many people just love it
A 1000hp Barra in RWD is useless below any legal speed in Australia and certainly not any use in competitive roll racing and a hopeless track car - So not quite sure what purpose it serves apart from being dyno queens?
