Thank you for this clip. Even though mine is not this brand, it uses the concept of screw position. Make it possible to repair

Bushnell makes nice range finders, but as you said and showed, they don't make it easy to disassemble. Also, sending in for repair outside of warranty is not usually a good strategy. The typical reply will be "it's un-repairable but we can offer you credit towards a new unit." (credit of $100 on a $400 or $500 new item doesn't exactly make you feel much better). I have disassembled and repaired my older Bushnell Hybrid 201951 (laser and gps). Key to disassembly - use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm all the rubber grips to loosen the contact cement, then you can get to the numerous hidden screws!

I have a Bushnell Tour X and mine just stopped working one day. I tried multiple new batteries but no luck. I took mine apart but didn’t see any loose connections.
I ended up buying a new one and today I was going to sell the old one for parts if anyone needs them. I decided to try the rangefinder one last time and now it works! I honestly think now that the magnets in the StickIt magnet strap for holding on to golf carts etc may have messed something up. Since it’s been off for a week maybe they allowed the device to work again.
All I know is I’m not using the magnet strap on my new or old one anymore.

Just took my v5 apart. A couple observations, after removing the rubber out piece, remove the 4 small phillips screws that are recessed. Do not bother with removing the rubber piece fir the magnet and those 2 screws ( my pain is your gain). In addition to the 4 screws you will see 2 small allen geads on the front of the unit, remive theseto gain enternal access. It was quite fun taking apart, didnt find my issue, will use as a prank on my buddys. I know its a scretch but there are reviews online in regards to aliexpress haveing a finder with slope for under $60, with vibration. I believe ill take a gamble before ever considering another Bushnell purchase.

I had same issue on v3. Opened it up and cleaned it with some light wd30 on a paper towel.
Was able to get display to come backbut it’s faint.
Thanks for your video. It helped me figure out how to get it apart.

i'm curious what adhesive you used to get the rubber cover nice and snug/attached. I just took apart a TourV5 Shift to clean the inner side of the eyepiece lens. The rubber pieces seemed to use a silicone or rubber cement to attach to the plastic body. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know for sure, but were it me, I'd use a silicone based glue, and then apply pressure to the rubber while it dries. Hard to get it just as it was from the factory, as the rubber had a better memory when new.

Hey T Elrod, mine only lasers (intermittently) very short distances like inside 15 yards after accidentally dropping it. Think it’s worth opening for loose wires? I can hear something rattling inside now

Hey Greg, certainly no expert, but if it's out of warranty, worth a shot.

My guess is, there isn't a user fix. That sounds like a processor error

Try removing the battery fir at least one week then reinstall and try it. Sometimes electronics mysteriously work again after removing the battery for a long period of time. If it still doesn't work after a week try leaving it out for several months.

No idea why on Earth anyone would buy anything with a Bushnell brand label. They currently have an F rating according to the BBB and so does Bushnell's parent company Vista Outdoors who also has an F rating according to the BBB for screwing over their own customers. Bushnell warranty is only one year fir their electronics such as rangefinders, rangefinder binoculars, red dots, illuminated reticles I'm their scopes, trail cams, night vision, thermal vision, etc. They don't seem to actually want to honor their Lifetime or ironclad warranty either based on the overwhelming number of customer complaints thus earning them an F rating by the Better Business Bureau. Much better off buying a Vortex, Burris, Athlon, or Maven with real lifetime warranties including their electronics instead of buying from other brands that only have limited short term warranties so be smart and just stop buying disposable throw away goods already.
