Rusty , you're the man for sure !! I'm 64 years old and have been messing with guitar for over 40 years but still play like an amateur. I've never taken a single lesson and am surely sorry I never got the important stuff behind me. Suffice to say, I have sporadic bursts of " this time I'm going to become a lead player" only to find that self teaching yourself when talent is not on one's list of gifts is bloody frustrating. But only now seeing your lessons have motivated me to " get it right". I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the FREE effort you're putting into your lessons just for idiots like me .. I will be going through each and every lesson of yours this time around . Thanks again and God bless , have a GREAT New Year !!
It’s exciting to see someone getting motivated to learn! The best way to keep that motivation all year long is to have fun while doing it! Really just find your own voice on the guitar! You know what sounds good to your ear, and that’s all that matters! Thanks Ronald and ROCK ON buddy✌️

While working to get better at guitar later in life, I discovered Rusty a few months ago and have followed him ever since then! Every lesson is a challenge for me, but I have learned more in that time than I learned in all my other lessons and programs going back 50 years! I was a long-time beginner, but Rusty is helping me move beyond that. I admire his playing, and I love the way he presents each lesson. I’m truly grateful that Rusty takes the time and effort to put out such great stuff!
Hey Dana, your comment humbles me!!! It’s so exciting that you’re moving forward! I try to think of topics that I needed to learn early on in my guitar journey. I’m glad that my lessons are helpful. Thank you for the kind comment! Talk to you soon 👍
Wow...Rusty, you certainly have a way of explaining things that I can easily relate to and understand. Little by little the mystery and frustration is being replaced with knowledge and understanding, as well as happiness and big smiles when I pick up my guitar, which I seem to be doing all the time now! I thought that this was all 'rocket science' that would forever escape me, but it's not!! Thanks to you and your passion to help us all I am making solid progress and enjoying my practice. THANK YOU so much :)

Oh yes, no more crashes Ray! Yes, I actually watch videos several times if I’m trying to learn something! Until it sinks in! I know that reverb pedal will sound awesome with that Marshall! Talk to you soon, Ray✌️
Another very helpful lesson Rusty, i like your way of teaching your lessons, you go slow to where we can see what your doing. then you put all together, your lessons are just what i want to learn right now. thanks
Thanks so much rusty. I’ve been learning main comfortably numb solo and have been amazed how David Gilmore does so much with so little notes and so much space. Thanks for the break down

Thanks a lot Rafa! If you get groups of three and four note sequences under your fingers, you will have a lot of fun flowing around the fretboard! Enjoy your week bro 😎
Great lesson, Rusty!!! I have been learning and practicing the minor pentatonic scales up and down the fretboard and was proud of my achievements and was thinking, now I need to learn to make it musical. This lesson is exactly what I need to go to the next level. And David Gilmour is one of my guitar heroes. Really appreciate your lessons. I started playing guitar in Jan 2022 at 70. I discovered your channel a few months ago. 👍👍👍
Sounds like you’re well on your way! You are really moving forward for only playing for a few months. You know what to work on. Keep me posted on your progress and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.👍
@@rustysguitar1 thank you. I’m in Sydney, Australia for the weekend for my daughter’s 21st Birthday. Can’t wait to get back home to work on this lesson. Will post a video on UA-cam when I’m done.

You play very well. This subject is very difficult, I really admire you. Wishing you a lot of energy at the beginning of the week, opening a new week with much success.
A small request, wish you could add a short section towards the end of the tutorial on how you managed to achieve that guitar tone/sound of the artist in the episode, thanks !!
I do need to talk about tone more often! In this video I’m using the Revv G20 amp set clean and driving it with the Revv tilt overdrive pedal. Also some reverb from the Strymon BigSky. Thanks for the suggestion! Catch you later 👍
Thanks. Great lesson. Are you switching to B minor pentatonic scale when soloing over the B chord? Or did you stay in C minor pentatonic? Why D#? It’s the third of the B chord. Sounds great but please explain how u pick notes to land on besides the root note.
Hey Scooby Doo, yes, the D sharp note is the third of the B chord. So landing on that note, when it briefly goes to the B chord, sounds melodic. but definitely not switching scales. The C# minor pentatonic works very well over both chords. And you can make a solo sound great with just that one scale. I only hit the D sharp note a couple times in that improv, but that does break up the sound of the pentatonic scale, also the D sharp note is the only note not in the C# minor pentatonic scale. I know that’s a lot of information but basically you can use the C# minor pentatonic over this back in track and jam for hours. It’s hard for me to stop once I get going. Any more questions don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for the comment, bro!😎
@@scoobydoo4087 yes on the C-sharp chord, you can land on E! because that’s one of the chord tones. The goal would be to land on one of the notes in the chord as it’s being played. I did briefly show you the notes of each chord in the lesson. But if you play up and down the C-sharp, minor pentatonic scale, you were start to hear those notes. happy jamming bro

Great lesson! Thanks! Love Pink Floyd very much! Trying to play these pieces of solo along the backing track, but cannot find out the moment when to start. As a result I start too early or too late. Can you give me some advice?
Try taking the solo phrases one at a time. Playing them continuously over the backing track. There’s no exact science here. But if you try to do too many at once you won’t sound connected. Thanks so much for checking out the video and happy jamming.👍
Following the chords is the best way to learn guitar. Keeps you connected to everything you’re doing. And sounds like you have a sense of melody. So I think it’s very musical! Thanks for the comment.👍
