Everyone is on about this ‘edutainment’ script process and now everyone sounds the same. You are one of the few doing it your own way. Looking forward to it if you get around to it!
Daaaaaang! You know how sometimes you see athletes or artists doing their thing and thinking "meh, I could do that too"? They make it seem so easy because they are so good at it. This is how that felt. Kudos brother
Being a UA-camr is like running a business, you always need to give your viewers what they want. You can't become complacent at any moment. At the end of the day, toughest part is definitely starting your channel and growing it up to the point you become successful (and honestly if I haven't used a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago. It was a proper life-changing experience for me, and once you become successful it is a great tool to control algorithm).
This is THE PERFECT way to record this type of video...keep the shots changing. So many people will just sit in their office/studio and do one long boring shot. Well done.
I must admit, I zoned out during parts of this video. Not because it wasn't actually useful, common-sense information, but because the constant scene changes were even more engaging! It wasn't over edited, or flashy - just simple, straight forward audience engagement. Forget all of the "how to grow on youtube" gurus, this right here is how it should be done. You sir, have just earned yourself a thumbs up. Well done!
i am literally on the verge of stepping away from my channel as i fell so stuck. but i think i needed this video as it really brought me a new perspective as to why i may be getting the results i have. thanks for creating this
Well, I hope my videos start getting views. You literally spoke to me with the part when you said you make something you think is amazing and no one clicks on it.
I think you're the first UA-camr who didn't approach this subject by trying to sell me something (VIDIQ) or wasn't all doom and gloom about UA-cam (pretty much every - mostly large - UA-camr). On that alone I'm subbing.
The edits on this are so good! great job switching up the film angles too it was nice to have the changing background. I think that is one thing that trips me up is thinking linearly like everything is one piece instead of realizing it is a bunch of smaller pieces all put together into a cohesive story.
This!!! Dude, exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for making this. Been struggling to break through because of lacking most of what has been mentioned in this video. Thanks again man.
Thank you bro for your insights. As a new channel, it can be challenging to see slow growth, but we're committed to pushing through and never giving up. To all the new content creators out there: keep going and give it your all!!
This video is so wonderfully to the point! I am a teacher that I feel is very talented at keeping students engaged. So why the hell am I not doing the same thing for my UA-cam channel videos???? I can't thank you enough for helping me see the simplicity in this. I didn't say it would be easy to execute, just simple in concept.
Yeah, I need to get out of my office and film in other places. I have graphics and titles and all, but the way you mix it up really keeps the flow going!
I did EXACTLY 2:20, when i started, one thing i noticed is MOST camera and filmmaking channels have the one embargo video, and stop, so i made 25-50 videos about the same damn camera lol
Bro so smart, I believe the tons of videos I made on the a6300 back in the day did a lot for my growth. It build a community around the piece of gear itself.
The information you share is very useful to me. Please continue to produce content on all kinds of topics in this context. Inspired by you, I started a challenge for myself. I am implementing your ideas in this challenge on my channel. And I am starting to see the effect.
This is really great to hear. I'm trying to add my own spin to my videos and create stuff that I'd love to watch and people like me would love to watch as well. Thanks a lot!!
Dope content, bro! Love the transitions, sound quality, background changes, and the points! I took notes and plan to implement the strategies! Thanks again!
Major shouts out to you bro! I'm learning alot from everything you said in this video and im starting to implement some of these skills into a couple of my recent videos
Incredibly well done. The slick editing and scene transitions alone are highly captivating. Great delivery and highly knowledgeable too. Really, well done.
Hey @YCImaging, I've been missing the kind of content that first drew me to your channel, so it was great to see this video! It's clear that you're reconnecting with your audience and focusing on the genuine, insightful content we love. I hope you keep sharing more videos like this that really speak to your community. Thanks for staying true to what makes your channel special!"
I think I saw you a few years ago, and kept seeing your videos pop up. Can see the growth and I'll say the last couple vids I have seen from you have been really nice, great change of pace and your hard work is paying off. You made it look easy. Shot selections were nice, audio was on point. Kudos man! Ohh yea, smoothest transition to the sponsor shout out ever!
You are correct, there are so many videos that talk about the same thing (weather new camera, phone, microphone ect) that most of them all talk about specs which gets repetitive to watch as a viewer or they have the same style year after year, plus all this fast pace content is making our attention span worse over time. Very good video! I enjoyed your advice!
Really enjoy your content. It’s so realistic and easy to follow. & entertaining lol.. I’m great at story times and trying to find a different way to deliver instead of just sitting there in the camera. Really good tips. 😊
Badass video. A lot of value and will begin to implement this for my first video. Getting into doing something I should have started ten years ago. Better late than never! Subscribed 👊
Dude I love you man. At first I was just like not another one of these videos… but your vibe, and genuinely smart ass lmao love it. Thank you much love man. Keep being awesome 👏
Just subscribed! Love the different angles you used in this video. At first, I thought you were doing a voice over and then noticed that you were talking! Did you script this video out? Going to watch some of your other videos. Thank you for sharing!!
If I'm going to view a review of a camera I click on genuine one ... not sponsored one, so your Peter McKinnon example is invalid. Lately tons of people reach to smaller creators for the reviews, because small creators usually pay with their own money for the product so their reviews are more genuine.
Dropping facts. As some one that just got partner I'm learning more about trying to come up with lot of what your talking about. Also yeah the editing down from trailing on talking got me so yeah i hear you on that. I've been working on that. Cheers for another great video. Keep up the great work.
Wow! I've been subscribed since the GH5 days, and I have to say, This is the sweetest video I think I've ever seen from you - REALLY IMPRESSIVE (also beautiful - including the message). This really showcases the talent you have and your aesthetic eye. Fire!
What about being a creator whose audience grows up & ages out? I’m in the sneaker space & the audience on UA-cam has shifted greatly over the past few years & as a “storyteller” in sneakers, the new audience is younger & doesn’t really care about stories & more just about hype. It’s been difficult finding how to re-invent to a new audience every few years as opposed to making content that connects with an audience that’s already grown up. Excellent video as usual. Salute.
Great video! I definitely needed to see this today. Also, I’ve tried to make videos where I’m constantly changing my scenery, and it always feels weird because my environment has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. I just realized your environments had nothing to do with what you’re talking about. But it still kept things engaging. Maybe I’m thinking about it too much?
I try not to compete when it comes to camera reviews . I try give my personal prospective on filmmaking through my experiences. I love making videos about my Helios as well .
Im brand new and just horrible/uncomfortable and i wish i could script..i find it so hard pause but then i feel like its not as authentic to know that i dont talk like that on the daily..i have to work on that
Great video man! Thanks for the advice. I’m very new on UA-cam, and a lot of what you said hits home. By the way that was the smoothest product plug I have ever seen!
I have a huge Facebook group and I make videos for my members each week.. I really need to start working on my UA-cam channel. This video is beautiful like all your videos but had less eye contact with the camera then you normally do.. I have found that eye contact forms of better connection with the audience. You usually have really good and abundant eye contact with the camera
Like this comment if you’d like me to make a video about how I script.
I felt the wet butt on the bench situation. That was an accident and real. Glad you didn't edit it out.
Neeeed it
Yessir! Let’s get it ❤
Everyone is on about this ‘edutainment’ script process and now everyone sounds the same. You are one of the few doing it your own way. Looking forward to it if you get around to it!
Yes please
That segway into the storyblocks sponsorship was smooth AF
Daaaaaang! You know how sometimes you see athletes or artists doing their thing and thinking "meh, I could do that too"? They make it seem so easy because they are so good at it. This is how that felt. Kudos brother
Haha. I totally feel this because I think this all the time!
Totally agree 👍

Great comment, and thanks for sharing about Famester. It looks like a really great tool.
"What do you want to watch?" That's just such a valuable way to get people thinking in the right direction. Really liked this video.
You’re in the zone bro. I hit 160k subs in 6 months using everything you touched base on. Keep it flowing. 👏🏻👏🏻
This is THE PERFECT way to record this type of video...keep the shots changing. So many people will just sit in their office/studio and do one long boring shot. Well done.

bro the cuts look so natural. cant imagine all that work. great content
One of the most creative „talking head” video I’ve seen in a long time. Instant subscribe 👏
As a new content creator/UA-camr, you always have the best advice man. We all appreciate you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Comment, I agree 100%
Yeah it's hard being new on UA-cam
@@themarekch yeah man but we just need to keep on keepin on!
@Unlockfilm that's exactly right. 💯
Well, I hope my videos start getting views. You literally spoke to me with the part when you said you make something you think is amazing and no one clicks on it.
It’s part of the process, really just gotta keep going!
I think you're the first UA-camr who didn't approach this subject by trying to sell me something (VIDIQ) or wasn't all doom and gloom about UA-cam (pretty much every - mostly large - UA-camr). On that alone I'm subbing.
That analogy about school teachers was so on point!
The edits on this are so good! great job switching up the film angles too it was nice to have the changing background. Your compositions are immaculate
I appreciate it!
really enjoying these advice videos youve been doing lately with making every location feel cinematic. keep it up bro
I appreciate you checking it out!

This video & editing was fire 🔥 appreciate the insight
Silent lurker here - been watching you over the years but this was one of the first videos that really resonated for me 🙏🏽 appreciate you
Yeah, I need to get out of my office and film in other places. I have graphics and titles and all, but the way you mix it up really keeps the flow going!
MY GUY!! Still official like a ref”s whistle. Great topic, black excellent delivery. Keep shining young king 🦾✊🏿✌🏾💯✅👀
What a smooth flow!! First time I'm getting a video from you recommended by YT. I'm definitely going to watch a second one!
I love the change of scenery all throughout the video, super inspiring thank you!
I did EXACTLY 2:20, when i started, one thing i noticed is MOST camera and filmmaking channels have the one embargo video, and stop, so i made 25-50 videos about the same damn camera lol

Short and concentrated, thanks !
Thanks for making this. Your explanation helped. You really helped to remove the fog.
This is really great to hear. I'm trying to add my own spin to my videos and create stuff that I'd love to watch and people like me would love to watch as well. Thanks a lot!!
These are great tips my man! Thank you!!
Thank you for the video. I love how your camera angles change constantly and keeps me engaged.

Major shouts out to you bro!
I'm learning alot from everything you said in this video and im starting to implement some of these skills into a couple of my recent videos
Appreciate this knowledge you passed on, I'm one of those UA-camrs who needed to hear this, thanks again.
Incredibly well done. The slick editing and scene transitions alone are highly captivating. Great delivery and highly knowledgeable too. Really, well done.
Great advice bro!! I pray all is well with you and your family!!
Thank you for sharing🤗 As a small UA-camr, I appreciate the point of switching up locations to help the viewers engage better.
BANGGGGG BANGGGGGG!!!! YC ALWAYS BLESSIN

I’ve watched 100 vids+ and 2 courses on UA-cam and this is one of the best, bravo 👏
Love ya work 8-). Loving the neg space in some shots as well. Killer look.
I’ve applied so many of these tips to my videos and loved how you broke these down. Nice to get reminders of the work needed for success. Great video!
I think I saw you a few years ago, and kept seeing your videos pop up. Damn, your content is on point. Do you remember your script, or are you going off the top of the dome? Where is the teleprompter, man?? 🤣
My God that was such a jam packed straight to the bullet 7mins!😅🔥
In every shot the composition is so good
Strong. Thanks for sharing. And your creativity around scene changes is incredible.
You are correct, there are so many videos that talk about the same thing (weather new camera, phone, microphone ect) that most of them all talk about specs which gets repetitive to watch as a viewer or they have the same style year after year, plus all this fast pace content is making our attention span worse over time. Great video as always brother 🤘 I've been focusing on story telling and creating more bullet points for my videos.
Most real, awesome editing. Engaging indeed. 🤙🏼 these shots are amazing
Fantastic info! I do exactly what you mentioned in the end and have so much editing to do. Thank you so much for sharing!
Really enjoy your content. It’s so realistic and easy to follow. & entertaining lol.. I’m great at story times and trying to find a different way to deliver instead of just sitting there in the camera. Really good tips. 😊
Heard this approach before but this is a good reminder. Great video!
I loved this video! It never got boring, and every frame fit so well with the content. Do you draw story boards for your videos?
You’re pioneering this new style while bringing some of the best gems in the game! Untouchable 💯
Badass video. A lot of value and will begin to implement this for my first video.
Getting into doing something I should have started ten years ago.
Better late than never! Subscribed 👊

This is great content, message and visuals on point. Thank you man ✌🏾✌🏾
The wet seat part had me deaddd 😂 Awesome video bro
Dude I love you man. At first I was just like not another one of these videos… but your vibe, and genuinely smart ass lmao love it. Thank you much love man. Keep being awesome 👏
Just subscribed! Love the different angles you used in this video. At first, I thought you were doing a voice over and then noticed that you were talking! Did you script this video out? Going to watch some of your other videos. Thank you for sharing!!
I really enjoyed the movie feel of this video. Thank you. I've never seen anything like this before.
The best and the most real advice on the topic. Love it.
How have I watched you for yearrrrrrrrrrs, and only just realised I'm not subscribed! That's crazyyyyyy! Dope video!
super smooth transition into the sponsor

Yo🤯each frame was dope 🔥🔥🔥
I love your content man. Every video HITS in every way. You inspire me to keep going. Thank you!
At long last you made me see the light 😊 Thank you and it's not related to filmmaking, I've ditched it 😂❤
Wow! I've been subscribed since the GH5 days, and I have to say, This is the sweetest video I think I've ever seen from you - REALLY IMPRESSIVE (also beautiful - including the message). This really showcases the talent you have and your aesthetic eye. Fire!
This video is vital!! We get caught up in analytics and forget to tell an engaging story. That goes a long way in the end.

Man I still can’t do scripting 🤦🏾♂️ I try and make bullet points to keep me in line but scripting word for word I still suck at 😂 dope tips bro
I feel you bro. It takes time, but it makes shooting and editing a lot faster!
awesome video! lots of value + really cool style 🙌
Great video! I definitely needed to see this today. Also, I’ve tried to make videos where I’m constantly changing my scenery, and it always feels weird because my environment has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. Please do a C80 review soon YC!
This was gold, pure gold.
I try not to compete when it comes to camera reviews . I try give my personal prospective on filmmaking through my experiences. I love making videos about my Helios as well .
Best way to do it!
Beautiful images and locations and a nice message!
Can I ask which camera and leses you used?
This was shot on the Sony a7C II + Sony 20mm f/1.8
This is great, well explained advice! Thanks! 🙏🏾
Im brand new and just horrible/uncomfortable and i wish i could script..i find it so hard pause but then i feel like its not as authentic to know that i dont talk like that on the daily..i have to work on that
Started being myself in my videos and been growing fast ever since
Needed this❤ . Recently i started turning on the camera and started yappn 😝. I Definitely need to get back to my script. 😅
Great video man! Thanks for the advice. I’m very new on UA-cam, and a lot of what you said hits home. By the way that was the smoothest product plug I have ever seen!
thanks for sharing, this was supper helpful!
P.S. Everyone isn't a creative, creator or social media influencer. Most are just people with an iPhone and camera.
This was one of the most informative videos I’ve seen on the topic! Thank you bro! Long time follower here… i think maybe 6 years or thereabouts!
😂 Not “until I got a shape-up!” That was funny
Great reminders, especially about not wasting people's time with jokes, etc. 👏
Do you have AF on your camera? The still shots look amazing. No movement. Just you. I hope to get your quality one day.
Needed this brotha preciate info!
The struggle is not easy but never giving up
Very useful information. Had me engaged all the way even to the end I wanted more. Great explainer as always
Great advice 👍
Well said brother, thank you
