I personally like well fitting Henley's. Long sleeve not short sleeve. I think they are more stylish than a Polo. While a have a few I rarely wear them. I think they are old manish looking.
Thank goodness I found you guys. Ashley's expertise in men's fashion is on point and Dorian's take is really useful and informative for me because I'm a tall thin guy. Well done y'all.
Thank you for the advice. I am a slim but physically fit guy at age 56. That being said, I stick to the classic fit suits, dress shirts and pants, etc. imo It suits my age a little better. A guy my age could be perceived as being immature by wondering around in a slim-fit suit. In addition, it has been my experience that if I stay with the classic fit suit for example, (medium lapels, medium width neckties) my clothes tend to stay in style almost indefinitely. This strategy combined with buying quality suits can give a man quite a savings to his pocket book over time.
Ashley, I like all your videos. When you do them with your husband, I prefer the ones where you are on the left side of the screen. This is because you become the one where the discussions "originate". Dorian then becomes the "reactor" to the discussions, even when he starts something. It lends you greater power, and makes you look much more like it's your brand. Nothing at all against Dorian, I just am looking out for subtle perceptions/impressions of entrepreneurial women who lead their lives well. I did some TV work, and I saw the same thing when I was sitting across from Al Roker and Stephanie Abrams on Weather Channel. You can see what I mean on my channel, as I have copies of those videos there. Al's the star, and he's shorter than Stephanie, so he shows leadership by being on "house left" or "stage right". All the best!
Dearborn Denim, you can find them online USA made. When you order they size both the waist and length by the inch not every two inches. So you can order a 33x31 for example. Saves the hassle of going to a tailor since they will do it for you.
When you have a slim body (just like me) you should defenatly look for italian brands. Italian clothing is slim fit, so it suits my bodytype. Greetings from Holland
I really love the way Ashley presents her videos. I can feel her passion oozing out from her and from there her lovely smile comes out naturally too. But, and I say this with a laughter, she is trying to get her diction right when she speaks 😅 Thank you Ashley and Dorian. Always love your videos 😘
I agree with everything! I have had all the problems, and I have tried all the things you guys are talking about. Definitely agree with the tailoring, do it!! 👍👍 And another thing, try out turtle necks. They look great on slimmer guys since it strengthens the neck area. For example a navy turtle neck, sand trousers and a navy or olive sports coat 👍👍
She left out horizontal striped shirts where the stripes go across the shoulders. They make you look like you've been hitting the gym hard even when you haven't
@6:40 No donot buy longer length. Slim fit pants or jeans taper from knee down as you said earlier. So if you buy 30 length it will have norrower opening than if you hem 34 length to 30. The 34 hemmed to 30 will fit almost like a straight fit.
of course but they say also that you can easly taper calves area. I always ask my tailor to taper my pants when i hemmed them. But Im thery thin and for me ven dont hemmed slim fit jeans are way too big at the bottom:D
Thin/slim men... assemble! Yeah, that doesn't sound as good as "Avengers assemble", lol. Thanks for the tips channel uploader people, I'm almost 36 but look super young. Decided to up my clothing but wasn't sure what to get, then I found this channel and it's been the most helpful so far. Suggestion: maybe a 'dress your age' series. In my advanced age I can tell early 20s style isn't for me, don't want to dress like a grampa though.
I totally agree with you when it comes to v-neck tees on tall slim guys. A big no no. Sucks because I really like how v-necks look on guys who are more solid and they are comfortable but on tall slim guys like me it just doesn't look for feel right. And I agree on tapered slim fit pants/jeans.
I personally feel like v-neck shirts on slim guys is a sort of "all or nothing" thing where it never actually really looks good but if you pull it off in a relaxed way with enough confidence it enhances that confidence like almost no other piece of clothing and the fact that it still doesn't really look good is neglected by all that confidence, idk I just feel like when i meet truly confident and really slim people in v-necks they simply appear less confident in crew-necks, this enhanced confidence personally makes me percieve a slim person in a v-neck much better than a slim person in a crew-neck (this only applies IF he pulls it off with that confidence in a relaxed way and the crew-neck still LOOKS better), this is ofc much more noticable in real life than on screen but if you look at a lot of pictures of (for example) Evan Spiegel in white v-necks you'll still PROBABLY get a sense of what I mean (not 100% of y'all, I know someone who doesn't understand me on this at all)

Love your videos! Can you make a new video talking and comparing the different companies with Performance Shirts and Performance Chinos. These are becoming very popular (i.e Mizzen and Main, State and Liberty, Woodies etc). Would love a breakdown from the both of you on different companies and your thoughts on them.
@@canadiansensei I love the Kavalier! Since performance wear has been a huge interest in mine, I would love more opinions on that style of clothing. I'm shocked more channels aren't covering these smaller companies more.
Hi! I’m super thin and wear size XS. At the moment the shirts that fit me the best are the ones from Mango and Banana Republic; I have checked in Massimo Dutti, Zara, H&M (their XS is too small and the small is too big)and Polo Ralph Lauren but haven’t found my size. Do you know other brands that I could try? Ideally I need XS slim fit
Unfortunately, for slim men's pants you need to nail the thigh fit and then take in the waist. Most manufacturers make slim fitting pants thinking that all slim guys have no muscle mass. If you are athletic at all, you will have a small waist (like a 29) with reasonably large thighs and calves. Buy the right waist size and the thighs are too tight. Buy 1 or 2 sizes larger in the waist and have the waist taken in at the tailor and you have a better chance on getting a good fit.
Can you recommend maybe a brand/s of shirts that are slightly longer than usual. Problem I have is ill buy shirts/polos but once I wash them they end up above my waist line so I go thru shirts like crazy.
Hello and thank you for your helpful videos! I'm interested in what you think about hats and caps? Which would you recommend? I am interested in flatcaps and trilbys. Unfortunately, since I have only a few short hair left, I depend on caps: in the winter against the cold; in summer as sunscreen. Thank you and best regards!

I did find a great tailor, trained in Italy. I actually stop by just to say hi and bring a couple beers. He will close up for a short period and we BS for awhile. He will sometimes give advice but I am not looking for it during our BS sessions. But then when I need work done .... no problem it is perfect and he knows I will be back with couple beers in a few weeks.

I have the exact same issue. High or even regular waist seems to be a bit off for my body type slim/skinny. Also finding 30" length is so difficult if you want to try them before purchasing.
Check out clothing for shorter men. Peter Manning or Ash and Erie Jeans offer shorter inseams ,short as 25 I believe, and the rise is proportional to shorter men as well.
