if I'm being honest bro you do not seem ready for anything bigger than a 400... All that shifting that you're doing is really simple and if if seems like some kind of achievement to be doing it properly maybe uhh wait a little longer. The way you're shifting still looks really unsmooth and clunky i would go find some twisties and record yourself going through them.

@@Zhayre Don't go up until you can ride and get every bit out of that R3 bro. It'll pay off. I just found your channel so have no idea your experience/skill level but if you are a new rider (I'm guessing you are) then to test yourself you should be in a parking lot doing turns and stuff. If you can't competently do 180's and 360s in a tight turn then you definitely don't need to move up yet. I'm new rider myself and practice what I preach. Take your time and truly learn before moving up. Ride safe bro!

Bro do not up to a 1000, its an entirely different beast from a 600. 600's can be a beginner bike with enough discipline and so long as you take it nice and slow (I went from a 125 to a 600 in 4 months due to license regulations and it was such a crazy difference) mainly due to the fact their power is only at the top of the rev range so you have a fair few thousand RPM's before that 120+bhp kicks in. 1000's have got an insane amount of power in their entire rev range due to their stupid torque and are insanely unforgiving due to that, if you don't have good throttle control, can't shift smoothly etc you'll suddenly have that thing chuck you around and not in a fun way lmaoo.
In the end you just gotta be safe and respect the power under you. So long as you really understand what you're riding you'll be fine lol.

I daily a Z H2 and its lovely. 1000s can definitely be tame and comfy bikes, but as the comment said, its about respecting the power and knowing when and where u can actually utilize any of it.
Everyone can go fast in a straight line. Even doing powerwheelies aint really a difficult thing. If you truly wanna improve focus on the fundamentals of riding before u even consider going fast in a straight line. (Cornering, breaking, trail braking etc.)

Best advice/question I have ever heard when it comes to upgrading your bike. "Can you push your current bike to its limits in a skill fully manner?". From there you know what to do. More power comes more risks, over all be smart/safe. All your current reason to upgrade are goofy 😂

Nah.....its the streets. Dont push any bike to its limits. Ride safely no matter what you're on. I rather say, "do you feel safe at 60mph on your current bike?". Then you can feel safe on a slightly bigger bike at 40 mph. That R3 still crush the highways. Hardly an economy car that can beat that thing. I hate to see bikers flying on the streets. Too many gruesome ends to our fellow riders on the streets. Whether its 600cc or 2000cc, cap your speed and focus on more maneuvering skills. Speed kills a biker every few minutes somewhere in the world.

to be honest bro, you don't seem to be focused enough on the road.
I do not recommend moving up just yet. I would honestly recommend focusing heavily on defensive riding and lane pattern recognition more than anything. I don't know your overall experience so I apologize if this is below your current skill level but I'm guessing you're new to riding.
As many others have said, it's awesome to be proud of improvements (like your shift game) but if you're still focusing on that and 'learning' that skill then you definitely don't want to move up yet.
I'll put it this way - I have 14k miles in the past 10months and you seem more comfortable lane splitting and riding in blind spots and that's not really a good thing. In my opinion you're developing bad habits because your past experiences (lane splitting with no accidents) is setting you in a deceptive zone where you don't recognize certain dangers.
I hope this doesn't come across like an asshole bro, you're definitely doing alright. Just be patient and truly focus on your skills before moving up.
Edit - 18:00 yeah bro your reaction is good there but your overall awareness isn't there. I wouldn't move up yet bro. I'd calm down a little and take things a bit more chill and up your overall awareness game. You're doing things that will get you hurt too casually in my own opinion and I know that sounds very critical but it's meant to help.

yeh defintely dont upgrade yet from what i've seen in this video of your riding. there was a point you changed lane right in front of car not giving the car enough room potentially causing a crash without indicating at all aswell. you're also crusing through town with the bike screaming because the rpm is so high becasue your still in second gear when you should have changed up. you need to get some more miles and experience maybe go onto some actual bends and you'll probably find out your far from reaching the bikes full potential yet.

I dont think going from R3 => 600cc supersport 4 cylinder, its a good progression. 600's suck to ride on the street and it looks like you ride in a lot of "Street" scenarios. Get an sv650, R7/mt07, Ninja 650, Suzuki GSX 8r. There are a ton of better options for a 2nd bike. Get something bigger, yea, but get something sane. Sure a ZX6r, or gsxs750, looks good on paper, they sound really good. But. You'll have more fun on a smaller middleweight bike on the street. Riding a slower bike fast and at the top of its revs is a lot more fun than getting a 4cylinder and having to stay in 1st and 2nd gear 80% of the time you ride..
I have a ninja 650... I started on a ninja 650. Do I get the itch to go buy a zx6r? Hell yea, but, when I evaluated the places I ride and what I do when I ride, I actually dont need that. There are a ton of options out there... that aren't a 4cylinder 600.

You'll be fine on a RS660. The YZF-R7, GSX-8R, and SV 650 are also in the same class as the RS660 for reference. Around the 80-100 HP range. That class of bike is a perfect step up from a R3. 600 supersports make 20-30 more hp so I don't recommend it but If you end up on a 600 supersport just take it easy.

Yo Z I definitely would like to meet you I'm in Brooklyn I have a cbr500r. The first bike I was looking at was the gxsr600. A Supersport is a different beast and I'm glad I didn't do it. First of all you're leaning forward which put pressure on your wrist. Speed limit is 25. Gxsr can go 60 and more in first 1st gear..remember you're doing city riding unless you're riding on the highway. And in new York its always traffic. Just my suggestion. Be safe bro.

    @alecstrickland7182 5 місяців тому

Honestly I don't think it's a horrible idea to upgrade to a 600 if you really want to as long as you ride responsibly. Just saying, you'll be thinking that a 600's straight line speed isn't enough either after riding it for a few months. When it comes to straight line acceleration, you're chasing the dragon.
You're only a few months in, you're not even using 30% of that bike's potential. If you upgrade to a supersport, you'll be using even less of the bike's potential. The R3 might not be very fast, but there's a lot of learning that you can do on it, you don't need a big engine to tear it up. There are people who soar through tight city streets in Brazil on 200cc bikes while running from the police, they don't need a ZX-6R to do it.
