  • Fool the world into thinking you're a bass tapping shredmaster... just by learning some simple shapes! This bass tapping exercise uses a shape I call "stacked 5ths," which I often use to create thick arpeggiated tapping parts that are actually easy to play.

      If he' left-handed and can play so good at right-handed bass, then he is very pro

      hi is it weird for you playing right handed? My nephew is left handed but I am now thinking a right handed bass could suit him

    Hey Josh, been humbly in the process of learning bass. THIS is precisely why I want to learn bass, to learn this exact style. It makes the bass sound like a totally different instrument

    I picked up a bass over 20 years ago and made the mistake of buying a left-handed because I am left-handed. Needless to say I did not fare well and quit in less than a year. Fast-forward to 2 months ago and I decided to pick it up again. I didn’t even think about it and started “playing” (if that is what you can call it ) right-handed. Just a natural thing. Anyhow, saving this video for later down the road. I really enjoy your lessons Josh!

    I have learned that everything (for me) is to learn everything in chunks. I still struggle with "seeing" the road map as I play. It does get easier as I practice, though. It's fun. Thanks, Josh!

    Great video timing! I am able to tap lines on a single string but I wanted to learn doing it on the whole fretboard, this exercise looks like a good workout to begin with

    Josh! That's excellent. Fun to try, even though I am only just now getting started with Module 12 (Lesson 4). Also enjoyed following your talk about your personal practice regimen. Couple of questions: can you tell me how to access the pdf for Bass Tapping? Also, is the increased SIZE of a Cirrus difficult to adapt to? Thanks! Stewart

    Hey Josh, is this a good exercise to get started on tapping? My left pinky feels very very weak but I’m guessing it’ll get stronger the more I do this.

    totally unrelated, how can you make your machine heads so clearly visible with the green screen?! o_O (I am asking because I never managed to get clear machine heads with my green screen :D)

    Awesome lesson, Josh! I just wanted to ask when you tap the note, do you hold onto it whilst tapping the next one or do we ideally let go and just rest the finger on the string?

  • @Justbeingjosh
    @Justbeingjosh Рік тому

    Are you doing any muting? Also I play with very low action. Will that effect the tapping? I notice a lot of clanking on my fretboard when tapping.

    Do you need new strings for tapping or something cause mine are more than six months old and sounding terrible???

    when tapping the notes higher up on the fret board i'm not getting a clean tone even if i tap them individually with one finger. Do i need to adjust my truss rod or something?

    • @danielboyd7810
      @danielboyd7810 2 роки тому

      I found that just like fretting normally, hit the note towards the back of the fret right before the fret bar. I found this much more difficult than usual with my right hand but practice makes...a little better :p
