It all goes towards helping me create the best bass lessons I can for you!
Many thanks,
𝄢Dan 🙏
Excellent lesson. I got a lot out of it. Plenty of things to practice in it. Thanks Dan😊
Thank you so much. I just get more understand when you play with really music behind it. It helps to visualize how and when you have to move with other instruments.
🙏
Thanks!
Thanks Dan. As soon as I've got my fingers around these, I'll be happy to sit and play arpeggios all day. You're right, they're so musical!
Have fun with it!
thank you for showing us how scales, appegios, etc in all lessons. i believe it is key to lerning to write basslines vs just playing a song. my books became more relevant as im able to decipher the lessons...especially the chord wheel, chord progressions, breaking down a scale to see rhe flat or sharp that makes the chord unique.
Great way to get your exercising for fret hand while learning these shapes etc. Thank you again and again for these valuable lessons
Thank you very much for your lesson.
Thanks for watching! 🙏👍
You are very welcome
🙏🙏🙏
Nice lesson, Dan. This makes it more fun for me.
Hey Dan, thanks for the follow up. The 5 note variations is (my opinion) they best sounding ones. You are my main source of new exercises. I can always return to one of my books but this is much more fun. Greetings sir.
You are my favorite bass player and teacher ! 💯💯💯 good job 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Wow, thanks!
Excellent love it.
Thanks Dan, good lesson 👍🙏
Another great lesson! Finely got time to pick up my bass and practice a bit, and the gods smiled upon me when I discovered a new Dan Hawkins video👍. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great lesson as always and something I wanted to get more knowledge off
You’re right it does sound good. Hey wait a minute! Everything you play and teach sounds good! 👍
Not sure about that but thanks!!

Thank you, Janet. 🙏
Greats!!!
Just what I was looking for! So helpful, thank you Dan for your right on target lessons! Cheers
Thanks Jeff!
Another great lesson. Thank you Dan!
Thanks for watching. 🙏👍
Another great lesson! I’m trying to understand the theory of it all! 😊
Thanks, Vaughn! I’m writing a big theory course right now so more to come that should help you.
@@OnlineBassCourses Awesome! I purchased your fretboard book recently!
@@vaughnmoody1010 thanks very much!
You’re welcome! Actually Fingerstyle Bass Techniques! I’m sure you knew what I meant!
I'll def enjoy jammin to this! Thanks DH!
Cool. You're welcome!
Thank you so much for putting out such great bass content. You are providing knowledge that is so helpful for improving my bass playing.
Great to know. Thanks! Let me know if you have any other ideas.
Thank you so much Dan for your lesson material and tutorials. I always learn so much by watching your videos and practicing what you teach. I’m so grateful for you my fellow bass player! 🙂
Thanks for watching and for commenting, Joe!
Another excellent video. You bring melody to my bass drills!! That keeps me motivated!!! Thank you again!!
Thanks for watching!
I can't get too much arpeggio practice. And once again you've made it interesting and musical.Thanks.
It's a great area to study.
I've been doing exercises like this for a while but this is much better, partly because of nice chord progression but also because of including the octave. Cos it sounds great it's fun to play. I think this will be my regular warm up exercise. Thankyou so much.
My pleasure - glad you can use it!
Dan, you can do every lesson, around “I will survive” and I will be completely content. Such a brilliant lesson. Thank you
It's such a weirdly good song for these types of lessons!!
@@OnlineBassCourses maybe if you do a slap approach to this song, I’ll finally be able to wrap my head around the whole “thumb/slap” style.
@@PushSueAside That could work too. I'll do more slap lessons anyway quite soon.
@@OnlineBassCourses no rush. I prefer playing with my fingers I just haven’t been able to wrap my head around it and if anyone could make it clear, you could and the “I will survive” magic.
NICE VIDEO
🙏
thanks for this lesson! i've been searching for more fun ways to practice arpeggios rather than doing drills all day. also, what is that piece of gear to the left of your head with the tubes?
Thanks. Search my channel for arpeggios as there are a few more. It’s a Jules Monique tube preamp.
so is he just playing Am in fourths? all notes of the key but not ascending each tone?
Don’t think so but I can’t really remember what I did in this video!
@@OnlineBassCourses hey Dan, thanks! one thing that threw me was the major dominant on the 5th which I assume is minor in this progression
@@klx400sr69 it’s a minor ii V i where the V is borrowed from the harmonic minor. That’s why it is dominant - that gives it a stronger pull back to the i chord.
Otherwise it would be a minor chord if sticking to diatonic Natural Minor harmony.
@@OnlineBassCourses thanks so much for taking the time 👍🎸
