I've been wondering why premium brands opt for door lock knobs instead of door lock buttons. I recently examined the BMW iX1EV, which I found quite intriguing, but my enthusiasm waned upon noticing the door lock knob, leaving me somewhat disappointed. It could be my mistaken belief that high-end cars should employ buttons instead.

There are lock/unlock buttons on both door cards. The knob is something all German cars have for showing whether the door is locked or not.
