We decided to run trail 16 which is a very easy trail... UNTIL you get to the end, towards the end there are several humongous hill climbs and ledges that any 4x4 would have trouble with. But the Cheap Jeep grand cherokee took it like a champ! See for yourself and enjoy the video!

Thank you for not adding music. I always would much rather hear the vehicles, trail sounds, and voices.
Agreed.
I Agree as well!
I like cheese!! :D
Yes I totally agree with you
Some tough trails. Lucky you had the cheap Jeep to help if the Scorpion got stuck.
nothing like a good ol' 1st generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. good video
Matt! ZJ owner here. I know you gave the cheap jeep away but here is what my experiance owning one has tought me. They do better with WJ arms and WJ front sway bar. And they like it when you replace the thermostat with a 180° and water pumps are known to FAIL from time to time they are old so coolant flushes are good any time you buy one just flush it by default. The V8 likes hood louvers. Also the plenum pan seal is failed on all of them replace it and replace the plenum pan with an aluminum pan so it doesn't fail again. Head gaskets and valve cover gaskets oil pan seal replace by default. Outside of the range of a "cheap jeep" they like a set of EQ heads the mopars crack usually. And a kegger mod or 98 and up plenum will get you a lot more power and so will the EQ heads. An IAC off a Dakota will give you a lot better and very noticeable throttle response at low RPM! Every thing I mentioned accept for the heads, seals, coolant, water pump and thermostat are junkyard items. Oh and the dang idle pulleys always fail especially when you over heat. I replaced with SKF high temp grease pulleys you have to get them on Amazon. You have to replace the idle tensioner pulley with a metal servicable one of an Asian car or super duty or they will be Chinese and you will replace it every year or two. Actually I have the same pulley problem on my fort in the case of the idle tensioner. Do these things and the jeep will be bullet proof. Its a good idea to seafoam them as well due to the plenum failure. Carbon builds up in the cylinders and you can actually vaccume it out eventually LOL! Happened to me! Took the carbon out in huge chunks had pre ignition due to compression ratio changing via loss of displacement. They like E3 spark plugs and stock style MSD ignition coil. They like the cables as well but you must get titanium EMI suppression boots or everyone on a radio will hear your ignition. Their are also free mods for power aka keger mod, port matching and throttle body mod. Oh and they like long tube headers to replace the rusted out manifolds and flowmaster sounds best on the mopar with 3" exhaust. Flowmaster 10 to 44 is nice 50 is a little quiet but sounds good. 10 is LOUD! Nice deep throughty sound! Not that magnaflow race care high rpm sound BS! They like to have their fenders trimmed or more like your tires will appreciate it. Their are some sharp protruding welds in the front fender wells trim and weld them or kiss your tires good bye. They need high carbon front brakes front and rear or a big brakes system they warp their small rotors a lot. Make sure to correct alignment when lifting and be sure to use semi metallic or ferro carbon brake pads with your high carbin rotors. I will be looking for some boot in brake upgrades soon but the advice I gave for stock is good. Also they like the Dakota and Durango master brake cylinder. I hear the WJ master brake cyoinder is better but their may be clearance issues with the booster if you choose to use that booster it. And I like to put an oversized truck brake fluid tank on them it helps the fluid not get to low when your pads wear down especially when hill climbing but he wear clearance to the hood. Dodge tanks work with an 8th inch clearance. And flush the brake fluid any time you buy a ZJ and use a high temp fluid like the Pentosin. Sorry this was so long...
DO A WJ for the next one! That would be so awesome!!! Thanks for the best jeep videos
Al Al yesss
Great video Matt. Really shows just how capable the cheap jeep is!
Amount of fun per $ is probably higher than most trucks!
Cheers.
+Russell Jowett thanks! Smaller tires= more fun on easier trails for sure!
Love the video, great family fun... and the cheap jeep rides on!!
Russell Jowett Budget is always great I got my 88 Jeep Cherokee Chief for $500
Those didn't look like easy trails.
I really enjoyed seeing the Cheap Jeep in action, and appreciate all your effort on the build process!
My favorite looking Jeep, the ZJ looks great out on the trail. Mentally I keep picturing the spider jumping on Matt followed by loud shrills and shrieks = internet gold. Nothing personal but would have been hilarious.
been waiting for this video. great results on the jeep. good ground clearance and the exhaust sounds great. plus a good experienced driver helped in some on those tough sections.
Pretty impressive for 31s
I love the sound of that engine purring!
I drive the 98 5.9 grand limited with 3.5" new springs and shocks and lowers I'm really liking it both fun and comfortable.
this is the type of trails I like, I'm not into mud boggin and rock crawling (not many free/public places like this in East PA/NJ) Looks fun! thanks.
At 42 seconds that was 2 squirrel 🐿️ duking it out lol
CheapJeep has a nice rumble to it for sure. Great job.
That spider was massive !
Nice! Been waiting to see her offroad
Love the videos Matt keep them up
Beautiful trail!!
Thanks for the vid!
Nice trailing...and photography.
Love that seriously badass Grand Cherokee!
Mighty impressed with the Cheap Jeep!
That ZJ turned out nice. Looked like you had an enjoyable outing.
Gorgeous fishing spider! (Same family as wolf and nursery web). That one ate well
Winch is worth its weight in gold 🏆💰💰
Nice place to drive, lucky one !!
Lincoln locker for the win!
Love that Mopar 318 purr
those jk lower control arms seem to work pretty good! I might have to try that
Nice trails I'd like to go there!
That waterfall spot is my idea of Heaven on Earth. I'd love to live right there.
sweet vid
You said that spider mite jump on you! I would be worrying that spider mite EAT U!!!!!
Thanks 🙏
that death wobble at 11:35 though lol
Wishing i had the time to go wheelin..... Got a jeep in garage ready to go but gotta work the next 5 weeks straight.
that spider was crazy
At 25:58 it looks like you are missing the oil fill cap on the valve cover. Great video!
It's just broken. Had an oil cap do that to me on my jeep too. The top half breaks off and you're just left with the bottom half like that. pretty annoying because i needed channel locks to remove my oil cap. I eventually replaced mine.
Nice camera work, know what it takes to do that much film. Worked on a few movie sets and that is great work. Peace Bro.

0:54 I need more cowbell!
I think nows a good time to do the wj next
eeewww a wj
Alexander Barrera WJ is better than XJ or ZJ
Dakota Jaegle false
Did you end up keeping the sway bars on this? I feel like I recall hearing about it in a video but I can’t remember which one.
Will there be a build sheet (on BleepinJeep.com) for Cheap Jeep to summarize all the components ?
anymore work planned for the zj?
would it affect it in any way if you put spacers ? I think that the cheep jeep needs some thing to make it look a little more aggressive and it could be just that :). great job, looking forward for more bleeping jeep adventures
Not Bleepin bad.. Me og CJ!
Just starting me cheap Jeep build 96 jgc do you have the front locked I saw you weld the rear didn't see anything on the front
great video, no music, America
Sweet been waiting for this thing to go off-road, and now all I want to know is what kind of spider that was lol
A BIG one!
Fishing spider or wolf spider
hey bud your the smartest guy ive ever knew of when it comes to jeeps and I really need hell asap I have A 98 xj and I've replaced nss flushed trans put new filter fluid and shift solenoids in and I've changed the TCM the trans mission shift good goes into over drive and everything but the only problem is when I put it into drive it don't hardly pull at first in first gear but when it switches to 2nd and so on it does perfect BLEEPIN JEEP PLEASE HELP !!!
Joshua Posey possible torque converter issue?
Great video Matt! Enjoyed seeing your vehicles run rather than a bunch of others. Appreciate your wheeling and winching style rather than the 'mash-it and crash-it ' style. It's nice to see that the cheap jeep could be a DD and weekend warrior. How is the lunchbox handling on the street? Can you do a summary video on the cheap jeep giving a run down of what was added, swapped/modified?
I dont notice the lunchbox over the welded rear... cost rundown coming soon!
I know it's been a long time but what caused the overflow to boil? My XJ did that to me the other week
hell yeah boys Im joining the xj club soon
Street N Jeep i herd u have to blow a guy to get in, thats what i had to do
Street N Jeep buy mine. lifted and locked
My ZJ overheats like that! What did you do to fix it?
Great videos I got poison ivy watching this
You need to check out RADesigns Matt! Rory makes some nice products for aw4 transmissions!
Looks like the back tires were hitting the body on the cheap jeep when you had to winch between the trees.
How are you going to.take care of the overheating issue?
What psi were you guys running?
+6th Gear Garage 6 and 15
What's your opinion on the zj's mud tires?
What is the fuel mileage of the Grand Cherokee?
Looks an awful lot like Pickett state park wagon gap road to the pall mall over look.
What lift, what tires size, what rims offsett you have ?
Cheap Jeep sounds better then the crawler
David Culver because it don’t have a LS in it that’s why it sounds better
Good ol 5.2 Magnum
You should do a cheap wj. lifting any higher than 2" seems to get expensive and near impossible if awd. Ive only found one lift for an awd wj and it is like 900$ for 3.5".
Scott Smelko I would also love to see this
My wj is awd on an 8inch and sock drive shafts. It’s my daily as of now so it can be done! Also it’s on long arms from iron rock Offroad, their stuff is decently priced. Thing drives perfectly down the highway with zero vibration.
Watch out on the rocks with that rear diff, the housing is aluminum.
Watches video, "Yeah I could do that with the xj" looks at stock xj "nevermind..."
very impressive!! back is welded but can't remember what's done to front?
+Eugene Thompson it's a lunchbox lokka locker
Put in a 180 thermostat and add louvers to the hood. It lowered my under hood temp by almost 50 degrees and lowered the operating temp by over 30 degrees.
abe frohman it's better to fix the underlying problem then just to throw a low temp thermostat in
Guess heating issue could be fan clutch, would be my first place to look.
Swap the clutch fan for an electric fan from a taurus.
limegreendream67 I did that on my current ZJ and I am thinking very strongly about going back have had the fan die on me now twice. If this was my play rig no big deal but I use it for my daily.
Try a 180* thermostat I think the magnums all came with a 200* from the factory, I did it with my dodge. Now even on hot days at 1 mph in the trails the temp. Never even hits 200
Now if only I had a Jeep 🤔
Are you still running CVs in tbe ZJ?
Ha, Indicator still broken :-)
What are your overall thoughts on those Achilles? They look like they held up pretty well this trip, but in the long run?
Seemed great for the price!
Is the v8 worth it over the i6?
That’s what it’s all about, non-jeepers just don’t get it. Nice trail man
Where is this at?
26:30 the forest in on fire in the background....
dont know how i caught that.
Matt, is that your younger brother at 1:18 driving cheap jeep?
What size lift do you have on your cheap jeep ZJ? I currently bought a 1997 jeep grand Cherokee limited and its completely 100% factory and I'm looking for ideas to run a taller tire
See the cheap keep series playlist. It's just a swap the coils around kind of lift.
Ahhh okay awesoem
What motor do you have an a scorpion and what size tires are those?
I6 - 39.5"
Could we see a Scorpion ZJ in the future?
cheap jeep is getting raffle off this month
I want a ZJ
How do the tires NOT rub on the fender??? I’m currently having that problem. I have some BF Goodrich KO’s 265 75 16 please tell me how to fix this issue
More lift, or trim fender. Or smaller tires.
@@bleepinjeep Thanks👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
We're is this exactly....I live in Asheville NC....I got to the same pull a part in Tennessee...so I know it's not far.
windrock
BleepinJeep thanks I thought that's were u were.
That jus looks stressful..
How big was the lift on the cheap jeep??
3.5-4 in
Did the grand still have the sway bar attached
i believe so
@@bleepinjeep looks like it.still did good.I'm fixing to get a xj or wj and start tinkering.good thing I can revert back to your vids.lol
Anyone know the tire size on the crawler?
+MrBmth90 39.5"
And what part of tn you at,im right out side of dickson
knoxville
Ever going to remove the stickers from Pull A Part?
+Brandon Low no, they are a reminder of the cheapness of this build!
If you have an electric fan it could be a bad relay
The one Kid that is grinning at the Camera all the Time acts like it is his First time actually Wheeling, you can tell by the Way he Gasses it to get over a Rock and lets the Rig just Drop down on the other Side. One Day he will drop down on a Drive Shaft and that will be the End of the Day for Him.
Going to really need to empathize to your I assume daughter to never hold onto to bars like that. It's a quick way to ruin some fingers.
What's a ZJ? If you gotta ask, you can't afford it.
it would be nice to have commentary/voiceover on the trail videos
like "Coming around turn three we have the cheap jeep in second place, the eyes look angry on this one folks"
yeah lol
cant hear you again!
She's a little stiff in the front still but on her way to becoming famous
bouncy Jeep... shock upgrade....
He will learn Just like the Rest of Us, after he Brakes a Couple of things and then he will start watching what he is Doing. Cant learn with out Practice But Man oh man it can get real expensive.
Who was the one dinkus that gave this a thumbs down?
Mark A. 9 dinkus' now, can't see why!?
