I worked at the Romford Essex factory in the 60,s really great people here,Les Andrews shown fitting frets also remember Arthur Walker manager and Geoff Price amongst others,a great atmosphere at that time.
1:16 "no money left for a haircut". "just as if they were real musical instruments". I was around in 1963 and this type of comment was considered biting commentary on the state of pop music.
I was also around in 1963 and these old, boring and out-of-touch geriatrics, who ran television, were everywhere interviewing pop stars with their asinine questions. These tedious idiots were so far up their own backsides and steeped in a world of boring old-fashioned music that their looks, never mind their clothing, were so incongruously out of place in a modern genre.

I was born in 1958 . I used to walk past the factory every morning and most evenings . My Burns Marvin is a birth year guitar 🎸
Great story,My father used to buy them in Melbourne from the distributor AP Sykes with Vox amps!
I'm confused - the Burns Marvin wasn't around in '58
This was fantastic
I saw drilling without face masks and thought oh oh, then i saw spraying laquer without mask and i thought OMG.
Yeah wouldn't happen today.
@@rolandrimann8788 but it does! in the gibson factory! 🤣
What is the documentary, if you don't mind me asking?
A BBC production i believe
The documentary is called twang bang kerrang, it's on UA-cam in full. Originally a C4 programme.
