What’s up CJ! Best thing I do to help keep my sump clean and can help you is add a small power head to each chamber that can fit one. Keeps everything in sump clean for me perfectly
👍🏼thought I knew everything I was stumped this morning 🤪
Bro your tank is just crazyy ! I was looking in to buying a 75 ext aswell so I seen your past video on you receiving it and I went to look at this and you’re killing it brotha !
Looking forward to seeing your tanks progress CJ. 🍺
Incredible reef man! Love this series and have enjoyed it on my personal account. I like the suggestion of a very small power head in there to push things around. That clam is sickkkk, Good luck CJ!
Hi CJ, thanks for showing us your tank and process. I always hesitate to run “consumer electronics “ (non-abyzz) stuff at 100%. I feel you can buy yourself considerable margin in reliability by not running max level. I select 90% when selectable. I work in reliability in aviation. Great vid
Keep the updates coming!! I just ordered the IM EXT 100 and cannot wait to set it up. Fantastic tip with the pond liner and WILL be doing this!!
Looking good bro 👌
Your healthy corals make me so happy. You should do a video walking through the names of your corals. I definitely want some, but I don't know the names. Are those pink hippo palys on your zoa garden?
Recharging.... Watching CJ ✌️
You can definitely see the drop from when you switched to the hybrid salt. Some big numbers, but with all them fish that's to be expected. Love all the new things I'm seeing. 👍
Hello, if you want the filter media to lower nitrates, you should put it in a place without current. When you put it on the way down it has the opposite effect so it increases your nutrients. Greetings and good job with your videos.
I'm sorry if there are errors because I use a translator.
Great plan. I just ordered a lil micro pump from hydros this Thanksgiving weekend for the sump area to help keep that detritus build up you are talking about stirred up. It might be to powerful, but if so I was thinking of making a spray bar for it.
I'm liking your plan though, slowly clean stuff to reduce the impacts on corals and nutrients in the tank. Definitely gotta put the work in though consistently to keep things operating as they should as well as maintain the balance in the system. 👏👏👏
Have you thought about putting a filter roller ?
Watched the video a few days ago. Saw the liner in the sump. Thought that's a waste and overkill. Two days later I overfilled my sump. Guess what came from Amazon today 😅. Thanks for the pond liner tip.
Definitely a must have be sure it’s one solid piece. Now sure how effective it will be gluing two pieces together
.24 in phosphate is kinda high. Might need to run some GFO, to set it back on track. Weekly bacteria doses should help as well.
Hey man, another great video!
2 suggestions based of my experience with the ext50 lagoon w/ rfs22 sump:
1 - put the filter floss on top of the silencing drains. Makes for easier removal, and prevents them from going into the media cups
2- if you have pineapple sponges in the sump, remove them ASAP. My RFS22 sump was covered in them and I let them run their cycle…horrible mistake. They disintegrated and decomposed into this nasty muck stuff that spiked my nutrients out of control. Killed like 90% of my coral.
Good luck bro!
Two great points… I used Silencers to make sure water flows thru the filter pads and not around it but I see your point I’ll have to cut the pads bigger to fill cracks on top of the silencers. And sponges have definitely started to disappear so I wonder if that is the cause or part of the cause of my nutrients. That’s very interesting… thanks for tappin in 🫡💯
One thing I do for my sump is home depot has bucket head shop vacs for $30. They fit on top of a 5 gallon bucket and can vacuum about 3 gallons per go. Every 2 months or so, I clean 1 chamber, then rotate to the next chamber a couple months later. They are cheap enough that I have one that is reef only, so no risk of cross contamination with vacuuming something else. Even with mechanical, after time, you will have some detritus buildup in the sump.
I have one too and will be the plan going forward. those little vacuums are clutch 🫡💯
also added cheap powerheads in sump to kick up the detritus
So if my ph meter is saying 8.11 and above the value is 8.1
I’m having a bit of a if a dilemma understanding oh so is 8.05 8.5 ph ? Or is it 8.50 ? Because my reef always reads 8.11 etc so is that 8.1?
It’s never 8.5. My ph ranges from 7.9-8.2
What's the plan for siphoning out the sump? I find it hard to do so with a regular siphon, it being so low to the ground.
The same 5g Bucket lid shop vacuum I have always had on hand for tank maintenance.. won’t take much work at all 🫡
Where did you get your wall art from?
Local LFS but I believe you can find them online 🤞🏾
Great video. As always
🫡💯
Beautiful tank. I have the 75ext that we have had rough luck with as far as stability. Resetting rock scape with our move this week. I was getting lazy and not water changing often caused some prized corals to die. I’m installing a filter roller to help with nutrients. I’m clogging socks every other day and with a newborn and 3 year old it’s hard to stay on top of. In an apartment now and with a house new place I can setup a water mixing station to make the job easier. Funny thing my sump is spotless and nitrates were hitting 100 and phosphate 5. I started dosing nopox but I hope the filter roller really helps
Sorry to pick your brain CJ but is 8.2 the same as 8.02 ?
No 8.2 is higher then 8.02 it’s a normal decimal system like any other number of measurement
CJ were us your ph at being that Tu kind f chase it like myself?
8-8.2 these days definitely impacts consumption
A Gyre 350 to mix salt, CJ is rolling in the P 😅
Gotta love Facebook marketplace the place where deals are too good to be true 😎👌🏾
BRS should sponsor your channel. They have nothing but new clowns these days.
Lol.. they already are..
That filth in the media was crazy, How long does it take to get like that? Also, Love that part where you show the names of the fish @ 9:37
Haven’t touched them since tank started for 6/7 months. Considering it made it that long without clogging ain’t too bad just shoulda caught it sooner 🫡💯
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Not bad at all for that time frame. Lookin forward to that Scrubber growth!
what's up dude
Enjoying the hobby again happy new year brotha 😎👌🏾
@@CJSAQUARIUMS same to you! good to see your videos!
Get a water polisher
It’s so awesome seeing that many fish in a 75g CJ glad you do this kind of stuff so I don’t have to stress about trying while videos like this allow us all to reap the benefits still of your hard efforts 🫡🎉
