Appreciate everyone tuning in for the build! Be sure to subscribe we have more work to do 💪🏾💯 #BeEazy
I’ve been checking your account every week since you left, I’m so glad you have returned man
Hey man, just wanted to say I really appreciate this series. Your style and quality of videos is perfect. No obnoxious intros, well shot, very clear communication (and a pleasant voice too!), lots of useful information and tips... Great stuff!
Appreciated it bro I film edit and upload just using my phone. Nice to hear the time spent is appreciated 🫡🤝🏾
Like 359! This build is coming out fantastic!
10:30 yes, always go with gate valve. Ball valves are just not adjustable enough. Its a hard pill to swallow spending $60-75 on 1 valve but its vitally important for tuning
best explanation ever for a rookie like me
That’s what’s up … CJ …. Welcome back to the Hobby Bro…
Great Information !
Highly reccomend the Neptune SKY light. I bet 1 is all you need!
Great video. He's back😊
As always a clean and professional setup. That blue and white really pops off even though it’s plumbing. Great video CJ and welcome back.
Looking good CJ👍
Wow CJ your back I feel like building again …
Looking good .🐟
I am hooked on your videos. So detailed. Will definitively subscribe and follow. Since I want the same tank in the future. Learning a lot from you. Thank you for sharing.
Good to have you back man. I won't lie when I saw your face on an earlier episode I was like... This dude is Quandre Diggs? But the GB hat doesn't mesh with that lol
HES BACK!
Cool and informative videos. Subscribed :)
Lovin’ the vids, appreciate ya
Keep rolling, keep making content, and we’ll all watch.
Water Test and fully plumbed on episode 3!?!!! 🌊🌊🌊 IN MOTION! 🏆🏆🏆
Just a thought 💭 maybe put a piece of egg crate light diffuser or something like that over the full siphon drain so if something like a snail makes it back it can't get stuck in the drain 🤔
Good idea.. hard to forsee something big enough making it thru that weir with the lid on but they make 1” drain screens (had them on my 120g) I’ll throw some on 💪🏾💯
Great job man
Dope video. Yeah I found your channel last year. And I seen the videos had said 2-3 years ago. But you bac in full effect. ✊🏾 I’m too excited fam lol
Dope! Glad you tappin in we gonna have 50+ videos on this tank for sure stay tuned
what a sleek setup! I've been out of the game for 2yrs, my tank exploded. it was a nano thank god, but have not had the heart to get back in. now you've got me motivated.
Looking good 👌🏻 👏🏻🙌🏼
Welcome back cj🎉
very nice
Great info here bro 💪🏻🤙🏻👊🏻🍻
Great video my guy 🔥🤘🏾
Very clean install CJ and welcome back.
Everything looks good. After 3 years you have not missed a beat.
Builds always the easy part.. water chemistry and corals will be my test but I have a new plan for this tank 😎🤞🏾
@@CJSAQUARIUMS primarily softies? I'm calling it now.
welcome back cj its been a long time since2019 awesome video i cant wait for the nxt one
That looks like its for your santa monica algae scrubber lol same one I have.
Definitely would rock the orphek lights on this tank..
YOU'RE BACK! Ok I gotta stop this video right here and go find the others.
You are one of the reasons I left fresh for salt, so I'm very glad to see you back in the game. 👊
I forgot to mention my 2 cents you should do a Radion 6 they talk about the amazing spread of that light! I'm trying to pick from either that or a kissel. Maybe strip lights. Loving every minute of this build 🎉❤
Coooool video
wow you are back! been watching this channel for 8 years. welcome back
I like how you went through every scenario what would happen. That is great that you don't need a check valve IM have thought it out. That sump is amazing I agree it has all the bells and whistles if you ever want to add anything. I've been wanting to upgrade to CADE but man after seeing your build so far with IM they are on the list.
Off to the races! I should be plumbing up mine soon as well! Let’s go!
Keep these videos coming!
Looking like a good start!
Welcome back CJ , being following your video since day one ... keep it up & cheers!
Back on track!. I have Learned a lot from you I'm still reefing since 2016. Now reached to growing sps !. Thx for all the info I got from you keep it up !
FANTASTIC!!! Great to see you back at it man really good to see ya. I’m on my way back too. Keep the vids coming
Loving the regular uploads mate. Been here since the jbj days. Hope your well cj 👌
Having the potential UV T’d off where you have it will effect the flow on that return line. So makes putting the tee for the returns right in the middle redundant.
Very nice build and good to see you back.
This is true… guess end goal is just to get water back to the display any way possible. Return pump is oversized I’ll be able to push enough thru the pipes to accomplish the goal and feed all equipment and hopefully with back pressure from those valves feeding each mini manifold the return nozzles still have good flow… I may make a last adjustment once I drain the tank one last time not sure at the moment 😎
@@CJSAQUARIUMS sounds good man. Looking forward to this build.
So glad to see you back in the hobby. Im running a bean animal on my 240g display tank. Are you going to run some sort of strainer on the drain lines to prevent snails or fish from going down into the sump or is not an issue with your setup. I wish I ran a few power loss tests during my set up. We lost power during an ice storm a couple years ago. Then the power company decided to cycle power on for 1 hour and off for 45 min. I quickly discovered I had the water level in my sump set too high. I also discovered the value of backup power supply (aka generator) Argh! The water stains on the wood floors buffed out after a few tries. LOL. All in all, really good to see you back. You were one of the few "no BS" guys I followed for tips and advice. I look forward to future videos.
I’m lucky - having the basement sump, all 3 drain lines are straight shots, no angles. Generates a ton of gas exchange when that water flow slams down into the filter box. 😁
Makes life easier for sure lol I’m working with limited space but gotta keep doing what I do 😎👌🏾
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Exactly! Take the opportunities as they come!
Watched all three videos, love the new build. Please help me release the copy right strike and then I can start with my new build.
Have you seen that Bulk Reef Supply provides this with all the plumbing kit as well, no need to buy pVC fittings, etc….
The kits came out right after I got my tank. I prefer custom installs more fun
You should definitely get a UV sterilizer. I use them on both of my tanks and wouldn’t have a tank without one.
Look at the ai blade grow and glow
Thanks sharing this amazing build. I'm setting up the same system right now so this has been super helpful.
Quick Question: What is the overflow in the skimmer section?
Overflow skimmer section? Not sure what you’re referring to. Go back to episode 2 I cover the sump in detail that may be more helpful
Just foind your series and this is fantastic!!! Shout out to Reef Dork for pointing the way. I'm following along / taking notes for a new reef tank (only done a FOWLR and a HOB filter about 15 years ago).
You mention tweaking things until the flow is correct/ silent. What (and how) exactly are you making adjustments to dial that in?
I found tuning the water right below emergency pipe fully submerging the primary siphon and secondary drain makes the tank silent. Regardless of standing wave or flow patterns in the display. Thanks for tapping in 💯
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Awesome, appreciate the info! 🤘
Really cool! Not a reefer myself but I want to be.
Now that’s the plumbing is done, are you going to do the aquascape with the water already inside or are you planning on draining the tank and refilling?
This is the first tank plumbing video that I’ve actually really enjoyed watching.
Looking forward to the next part!
I’ll let it run with tap water until I’m ready to add rock. Drain and refill with rodi salt water.. stay tuned I’ll cover all steps in this build 💪🏾💯
If I were you, then I would use two random flow generators instead of the stock ones that come with them. This should add more surface agitation and more random flow (hence the name) which will just make the flow more random and natural.
Ood morning cj ,,,,,, lovely plumbing buikd ,,,, can you tell.me the sizes of your drain pipes and return pipes please buddy ,, and loving the blue
1”
Great job plumbing the tank. What size pipes did you use? 1”? I’m looking to do something similar and know those pipes in the back of the EXT are 1”.
1” drains and 3/4” return lines
Where did you find the gate valve I can’t find it
What return pump are you using?
you could have used a coupler instead of a union to fix your crooked pipe it would be cheaper and not as bulky
True but freedom to swivel and take apart when I move comes in to play as well
Hey cj so if I use the Oatey fusion all in one I don’t have to buy anything else? Just use that to glue fittings to pipes? No primier?
No primer needed we don’t have high pressure thru reef tank plumbing
How much feet of piping do you end up using?
Messed up on my gluing and going to have to restart. How did you make even cuts ? And how do you keep the plumbing level?
I just eye balled it honestly. Got the cute even as I could and dry fitted as close to level as possible. Just years of practice..
How is that Innovative Marine return pump?
Is there anyway to clean some of the pvc glue off the pipes that is safe to do?
If you didn’t use clear pvc cement then you can wipe the access off with acetone but it will remove everything so be careful with it.
I used the clear fusion that you used I just had a few that had little bits of glue on the pipes I just used back side of sponge to kinda clean it off a bit more. Keeping the pipe clean.
What tool did you use to cut the pvc pipes?
Ratchet pvc cutters
Im planning to buy either the EXT 50 or 75 but afraid of the 75 weight being 250LBS. Was it really difficult lifting this tank onto the stand?
@@yetimanification I would have went 100ext if I wasn’t in 2nd floor. 2 people makes it easy… I mounted it on the tank myself it’s heavy but doable if you got a good grip. Not sure your physical shape I’m still pretty strong 👌🏾
How many inches is the front of the tank from the wall?
Roughly 27/29”
So got got rid of the jbj aio 60?
Yes over 3 years ago this is a complete start over from scratch I still don’t have a fish net 😅💪🏾💯
@@CJSAQUARIUMS I have a Red Sea maxs500 and a jbj aio60. I refer to your jbj videos for ideas on equipment since I have the same tank.
How long did you wait till you put water in after gluing the pvc?
24hrs
I’m in the process of gluing at the moment thank you!!!
Is there anyway to remove some of the glue off the pvc pipe to clean it? Like if a little bit of glue got on the pipe.
Which water pump are you using ?
Covering all equipment future videos 😎👌🏾
Hey cj anyway I can get your contact info that way I can get help with my plumbing on innovative marine 112 EXT
Cjsaquairums@gmail.com or just ping me on IG bro 🫡🤝🏾
Thanks cj!!! Never plumbed a tank before I’ve been watching your videos on repeat also doing lots of research and getting the pipes and fittings ready for the build and even have the layout of the plumbing ready. Now stuck on how to cut the 3/4 and “1” pvc pipes was thinking of getting the Milwaukee pvc cutter or the dewalt. I want straight cuts as much as possible.
