Could not agree more, very humble and very grounded. Have not seen him for over 20 years but was there with him when the going got tough. The use of legends gets easily thrown around these days, but he is exactly that ⚒️
Swallow has certainly led a full life, you could probably have done a 3hr podcast and still only scratched the surface. The knockers documentary was the first time i became aware of his name, then the hooligan documentary(which put a target on the icfs back for sure, not by ither firms as such but the authorities). Great listen Tony.
Top bloke, one of the only honest football chaps I’ve heard, I went to football in the 80s, and he’s spot on, sometime you get done, sometimes you get left on your own. You can’t fight everyone. Top blokes, 100% respect to you both. ❤
I remember going to Upton Park in the late seventies when my team Bristol City was in the first division. Me and a friend managed to get in the wrong part of Upton Park, ending up in the middle of the West Ham mob. Suffice it to say we kept quiet as our Bristolian accents would have been a bit obvious, and this was the only time I can remember cheering for the opposition when West Ham scored😂 My favourite player at the time was Bobby Moore! Happy days, when football was truly great!!
Old school londoner not many of them left now. Their a dying breed. First time ive heard of this man and he has defo lived a life. Old school londoners have such a happy vibe to them. Out going and down to earth people. They love having a laugh just very bubbly happy people. Great interview chap.👌

I'm also gonna say thanks to you both for the music and the memories, you are so right about the difference in partying now. In the raves we were proper on it jumping around all over the place, totally letting go, loving and losing ourselves. I still go to Ibiza amongst other party capitals and feel sorry for the yputh as they sway from side to side gently holding their phones 📱 in the air. You just can't cut loose if you're self conscious others are filming you, beer and cocaine will never be E. Late 80s early 90s what a time to be alive. Top bloke remember going to Old Trafford in league cup game after the Holigan programme was on TV . The Holivan followed Animal . Andy said let walk to the ground which we did kicking off all the way to the ground , Great times in the Brit as well
We went firm handed .. it kicked off sporadically all the way down to Old Trafford. the Mancs were numerous and better organised. Ask Bill..he'll tell you we come badly unstuck that day.. Far too many wankers by then. Bill carried a massive load long after his time .

When the E's arrived I was already doing hash and speed and I said that they would bring peace in Northern Ireland and I wasn't joking. I ended up doing a lot of E's up here in Scotland and although a Hibs fan and Irish Republican supporter I was working with Loyalists selling 10's of thousands per week for them.
Was Andy ever at Bramall Lane ? I remember the WHAM followings coming to Sheffield in the mid 1970s and all the scrapping on the Kop. Happened every time they came 😂. Or was it before his time ?

Funny, of all the trouble at football in those days, open terraces, no restriction on fan movement, West Ham and Newcastle stand out in my memory. Both always came on the Kop and the scrapping went on all match. There was something about West Ham which was different, even including other London clubs. Of course Leeds and Man Utd just used to come en masse and overwhelmed us with sheer numbers.
Wish I had a time machine and would go back to 1981. Everything was better then. Proper football, proper music.

My late aunt had the tudor lodge in bow and benjys..as a nipper I'd see you all outside echoes sweated up whilst i did my weekly pot boy job...with with your pupils dilated like and ask my old folks why you was like that...all over the place...i was wodnderjng why you was all sweaty with acidhead t shirts......much respect for this mr Swallow and terry turbo xxx

Top bloke remember going to Old Trafford in league cup game after the Holigan programme was on TV . The Holivan followed Animal . Andy said let walk to the ground which we did kicking off all the way to the ground , Great times in the Brit as well
We went firm handed .. it kicked off sporadically all the way down to Old Trafford.
the Mancs were numerous and better organised.

Middlesbrough was the only place I got a good hiding. Irony is I wasn’t a football lad, just young , working class, and following my team. Looking back I had PTSD for a long time after that. Wrong place wrong time. Boro always brought a good following. For some reason I saw them twice at Hillsborough, and I’m a Blades fan, I used to go all over Yorkshire watching games

I remember going into Freedom Records Watford getting my tickets and tape packs for your parties, Brilliant times
When the E's arrived I was already doing hash and speed and I said that they would bring peace in Northern Ireland and I wasn't joking. I ended up doing a lot of E's up here in Scotland and although a Hibs fan and Irish Republican supporter I was working with Loyalists selling 10's of thousands per week for them.
Really enjoyed this. This is how a podcast should flow. Just 2 mates chatting. Respect from Spurs.

Was Andy ever at Bramall Lane ? I remember the WHAM followings coming to Sheffield in the mid 1970s and all the scrapping on the Kop. Happened every time they came 😂. Or was it before his time ?

@@terrystone743 oh ! Cheers Terry. Not sure whether you’re being serious or sarcastic, I hope it’s the former. Funny, of all the trouble at football in those days, open terraces, no restriction on fan movement, West Ham and Newcastle stand out in my memory. Both always came on the Kop and the scrapping went on all match. There was something about West Ham which was different, even including other London clubs. Of course Leeds and Man Utd just used to come en masse and overwhelmed us with sheer numbers.
